Very frustrating for Eley to change up when they have / had a good line up going. My 457 precision trainer likes the Eley green box sub/hollows and did indeed buy 2 prior to the line being dropped. And yes.....the new 457 is a very good upgrade. Acceptable trigger (fully adjustable). The 60 bolt throw is very nice but is a bit stiffer because of the compact throw. The new Manners stock is nice as well. A vast improvement and I have a stable of 455's that I like and have served me well. Thank you for your time and efforts. Just another few weeks to go......I'm ready.
Nice vid, Nate. Love your Russian accent👌. My CZ 455 Stainless prints a penny side 5-shot groups with federal auto match. The issue is that it is a round nose round-not ideal for hunting. Keep turning those vids, mate!
I have 3 457s ....an American in 17hmr, an American in 22lr, and bull barrel varmint in 22lr... every single one is a tack driver. My Varmint will shot a 1/2" groups at 50yds with MiniMags. I like the 455, but the safety isnt an ergonomical to me as the 457. And the shorter bolt-throw alone is well worth it over the 455. Both are deadly accurate. I got the day off and about to go still-hunt some rabbits and squirrels with my 457 Varmint.
Ha, wife knew who it was from across the room, I've got a 457 20" threaded barrel that got replaced by a LW 18" threaded .17m2 barrel cause you know how I like to make noise, the factory target is only three shots (CZ getting cheap on the ammo) in about 3/8's inch with two overlapping.
i have found the same thing shooting cci subsonic hp in my 455 SR . pretty good at 25 but 50 and beyond not so much . i have some Winchester 45gr hp that isn't as good at 25 but holds much better groups at 50 and minute of squirrel out to 175
That’s some good recon on that federal round. Might have to look some of that. I really wish the cci subs were accurate, that’s a viable secondary option if accurate, alas video proof says otherwise.
@@natebonebusta i mis typed it is a 42gr . winchester subsonic max hollow point , made in Australia. longest shot so far with it was a crow at a laserd 186yards . center punch and it expanded well enough to leave a much bigger than expected exit .
It is, and we’ve both tried it. Too many fliers for me to chase squirrels with it. I sure wish it shot good, because SS HP’s are hard to come by for hunting.
I know you have tried quite a few scopes on your cz’s right know I have athlon 4-12-40 decent clear but would like more magnification either 20 to 24 on the high side. What would be your top choices thanks keep the videos coming
If I were gonna go lightweight and 20x the Clearidge ultra xp 6-20x40. Pricey though at about $370. Great optic! If I were going 30mm tube a Element Helix 6-24 $399 or a Vortex Strike Eagle $299 like in the video. My coveted Bushnell Elite Tac has been discontinued.…
@@natebonebusta I have decided to go with the vortex like yours after watching multiple on line reviews so I am going to order it this week hard to beat for $300
Nate, ive had two knocked outta trees this year, shoulder chest shots, only to run and hide. not found. SK Flatnose….. u think this is par the course or bad luck or sumthing else. and wats your RC name i forgot.
Were the shots intended for the vitals? I’m typically a head shooter. I feel that the EPS tip increases the lethality, but not to the extent that a hollow point does. Hard to elaborate past that. Sometimes they just get away, unfortunately. Higher velocity rounds usually don’t have the same result, but I’ll take the lowered noise, and try for heads every time.
@@natebonebusta yes intended for vitals. the SK Flatnose shoots best for rifle and me. Only had one walk off all last year, like you said higher velocity Blazer 21 last year, but not as accurate.
That’s my plight. Once my reserve of Eley green box SS is gone, I’ll have to search out another match round that is accurate that I can hollow point. The 22lr market is positioned to provide long range shooters, and paper punchers the ideal rounds. HP’s aren’t included in that inventory sadly. My thoughts are we have to make due with what’s available, and that makes the Waltz die a must have for me.
