Black Squad, Homefront, Battlefield 4, Battlefield 3, and Operation 7 are the only ones that got it right. The operator does NOOOOOOOT need to use the charging handle to release the bolt; that's what the BOLT RELEASE BUTTON is for. The bolt is locked back on AR platforms after the magazine follower trips up the bolt catch to hold the bolt open after the last round has been expended. The only time the charging handle needs to be used is if the bolt is closed after loading a new mag or a malfunction; THAT'S IT.
