PROFILE of Swami Narayanananda Saraswati
Birth & Education ( Poorvashram ): Born to a pious Brahmin family, Swamiji was educated in Bengaluru until his post-graduation in Electronics. Later he worked in various capacities at Mangalore and Mumbai.
Spiritual Inclination: It was in Mumbai that he got his first chance to meet Pujya Swami Chinmayanandaji Maharaj. After few queries, the Mahatma suggested Swamiji to dedicate himself to the cause of Truth. By this motivation, Swamiji joined “Sandeepany Sadhanalaya”- the college of Vedanta established by Swami Chinmayanandaji, to promote our Hindu culture & tradition to its optimum potency. After having studied the “Prasthanatraya” viz., the Bhagavad-Gita, Upanishads and the Brahma sutras under the tutelage of “Chinmaya Mission”; Swamiji accepted the vow of celibacy and continued to serve Chinmaya Mission till the year 2000. Swamiji served the Mission in different centres in Karnataka and also travelled extensively across the country to spread the message of Indian scriptures through „Geeta Jnana Yagna‟ and Spiritual camps.
Yogic Training & Sannyasa Deeksha (Sannyasashram): In the year 2000, Swamiji was inspired by intuition to enhance his skills and knowledge in the field of Yoga. As a result, Swamiji landed at the „Bihar School of Yoga‟ situated at Munger in Bihar and enrolled himself as a candidate for the Sannyasa course. Under the able guidance of Pujya Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati (disciple of Swami Satyananda Saraswati, who is the senior disciple of Swami Sivananda Saraswati, Rishikesh); Swamiji completed his studies on Yoga Philosophy, Yoga Psychology and Applied Yogic Science. Later he was initiated for Sannyasa Deeksha and was named Swami Narayanananda Saraswati. Since then Swamiji engages himself by conducting and organizing Yoga camps, Samskrita Sambhashana Shibiram and delivering discourses on Bhagavad-Gita & Upanishads; educating the masses in the fields of Academics, Yoga and Vedanta.
Special Features : Swamiji has been bestowed with a divine voice to enthrall his audience and inspire them to lead a life of chastity, simplicity and purity. Besides being a good orator, he is an expert on the Yogic path and specializes himself in the art of Yoga therapy, living skills and Naturopathy. He has also released audio tapes on Bhajans & Kirtans, Guided Meditations etc. He has a good academic career and also teaches Mathematics, Science, Samskritam, English and other subjects to high school and college students. He enhances self-confidence, instills patriotism and also inculcates the divine values of life.
Occupation: Swamiji is propagating Sanaatana Dharma by being a Resident Sannyasin at Sri Datta Kshetra, Sri Dattasadananda Ashrama, Doddamuduwadi, Kanakapura Taluk, Ramanagara District, Karnataka, Bharata.
