Update 5/8/23: according to others who've been recently, parking is now $20. We haven't been back since we made this video.
Colorado has many amazing lakes formed by snowmelt, St. Mary’s Glacier is one of them and it is the most amazing hike if you are visiting Colorado! Located at just a 24 minute drive North West of Idaho Springs, this 2.4 mile out and back hike features stunning views of the mountains (including Mt. Evans in the distance), St. Mary’s Lake and the snow shelf that feeds it. However, it’s about .75 miles to get to St. Mary’s Lake. Make sure that you come EARLY because this hike gets BUSY and the parking lot fills up very fast. The hike up is very rocky so hiking poles are highly recommended :D We thoroughly enjoyed St. Mary’s and even though it was windy, Adam got some beautiful drone footage with his DJI Mini 2.
If you do try this hike when you visit Colorado, let us know what you thought of it. As always, we love to explore new places so please share with us some of your favorite hikes (or adventures anywhere in the world) in the comments below :)

We’re Anna D and Adam, vloggers living in Colorado. After the pandemic shut everything down in March of 2020, we decided to make more time to explore our own state in part for our own mental wellbeing and in part because we’d been living here over 5 years and had barely hiked more than 10 different trails. We married on Valentine’s Day 2010 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. #Travel has always been something that we both love and have done quite a bit of in the 16 years we’ve been together. So why not combine our passion of video making and photography to share with you our adventures? We’re on a quest to find some of the coolest spots in #Colorado (and beyond!). Where should we visit next?
