This is another one where it's ridiculous when people call GSP a decision machine like it's a bad thing. He brutalised this man and broke him with skill, technique and precision for an extended period of time. He humiliated him, the same man who subbed Johnson, battered Hughes unconscious and gave Sanchez his first loss.
Like gsp himself said “it’s difficult to comeback from a fight where you got knocked out,but it’s even more difficult to comeback from a fight where you’ve been absolutely dominated, like you could clearly feel that you did not belong there”
GSP in his prime was so talented and technical. His speed and athleticism are off the charts. You forget how quick he was with his hands and the takedowns after not seeing his fights for a long time. His opponents seem to have no answers, they are simply overwhelmed. They can't fully defend the strikes because of the TD threat and they can't fully defend the TD because of the striking. GSP in his prime was definitely the best WW ever.
after all of the mad shite that Josh said to him in the TUF, Georges was the first one to greet him and his team after that fight. you gotta give that one to Georges, what an absolutely humble human being.
Honestly it’s not even close. Casuals think Khabib is the Goat, dickheads think Jones is the Goat becos a cheater is a cheater. GSP is the one and only True GOAT of the UFC 🐐 🇨🇦
@@thedeep2202 only the muslims think khabib is goat....they just support him because of his religion....if khabib was non-muslim he would never be anywhere in the goat talks
I remember hearing Koshcheck couldn't even take a plane ride home after this fight because his eye was so swollen and the high altitude would've made his eye pop out 🤣🤣🤣 I'm glad Koshcheck was universally hated by the mma community
Josh was a good heel, and also no fkng joke. I keep having to remind ppl he did beat Rumble Johnson at welter. There are factors in play (like Anthony cutting all that weight to make 170 and the fact he had really weak submission defense, but Hey.....he beat a monster)
Koscheck was putting on a show. Hype yourself as a hated cat in the MMA business and you'll sign more contracts, everyone knows this. Josh knew it before others did. Koscheck is a beast and trains guys now down in Fresno. He's very well liked at his gym.
@mattf2146 I'd have a tough time taking Koshcheck seriously as a coach. What's he doing, training the younger generation to be cheaters? Maybe he's developed new methods of faking eye pokes and other non-existent fouls. He's a punk
If I remember correctly, Koscheck broke his orbital bone with those GSP jabs. Imagine the excruciating pain.. he was flinching away from the cut man mid fight.
Imagine having to drive back home because the gaps of air in your eye socket could lead it to pop out if you fly in a plane. George still took the mic to pay the guy respect for taking the fight coming all the way to canada, they both showed true sportsmanship there.
@@carter3369 so delusional 🤦♂️😂 the welterweights of today would woop the WW fighters of this Era. Especially guys like Josh koshcheck don't know what you are smoking but I want some grandpa 🤦♂️
the first fight was 74" both side... one gain and the other lost!!! someone was blackout with the tape in Montréal or in the States for the first fight!!
It was pretty much a forgone conclusion that GSP would win the rematch, but when it was disclosed that he had grown 1" and gained 2" of reach since the first fight all doubts were gone.
I absolutely adore GSP he will always be my number one MMA fighter I am a proud Canadian of how he conducts himself in and out of the octagon and still does even though he's retired😊😊😊😊 blessings from Toronto
Josh Koscheck treated GSP like dirt for a year leading up to this. Bullied him on TUF, talked a mile of shit. GSP just smiled and took it, while demolishing Koscheck's team on TUF and then beating the breaks off him in their rematch. Then he gets on the mic and apologizes to the crowd for Koscheck's behaviour. This is why we love GSP in Canada
@@vishnu2407 Nah man, he was "working" as in he was a "Heel" like in pro-wrestling. Probably a bit of a jagoff in real life, but no way he was that on the nose with his hate.
yup. since this loss, Josh couldn't even take hard shots in the face anymore and became more hesitant than usual. Georges took his physical prime out of him.
@@eetfuk3571 (I've had to repeat this a lot LOL) BUT......Josh beat some of the best guys to get where he was, including RUMBLE JOHNSON. Hard to believe it but Rumble had to make 170 and was learning wrestle/sub defense, so it was fair play. Josh wasn't a joke.....even though he was a doucher.
2:46 it's stuff like this that make me realize how genuinely important guys like Josh were. You always need a bad guy and man did he play his role perfectly. Such a way to sum up Josh ,😂
From faking eyepokes to faking nutshots Josh was a MMA Eddie Guerrero and despite being the biggest douche I loved him for it. He fully embraced the bad guy role and it helped elevate guys like GSP and people loved the previously hated Woodley because of the way he killed Koscheck.
This was peak GSP! This version beats everyone in the current Welterweight division Edit: I disagree with this now. I think PRIME Usman beats PRIME GSP but I think current Usman losses to prime GSP but shavkat could maybe beat prime GSP and khamzat would beat prime GSP tho, Edwards would be interesting, Covington would be a good fight actually!
Is that how Josh beat Rumble Johnson? I seem to remember a choke or some such. I'm really just fkn with ya, Josh was a tool but he did beat the best to get those title shots.
@@user-dt8cn9gw9w That all sounds imaginary, and made up... GSP was a superb wrestler, and awesome striker... And of course was good on the ground. He was always perfecting whatever he needed to beat his next opponent. He used wrestling for takedowns, boxing for striking, kicks from karate, and ground game BJJ... Those were the base of his skills... He really had zero weaknesses... Early on his ground game was a weakness, but that changed when he realized he needed to approach each fighter with a different strategy. He became a highly intelligent tactician, and that made him almost unbeatable later in his career.
GSP Koschek 2 was real deal, GSP dead serious the entire promotion and no glove touch at start from Kosch, pretty sure GSP jab-jab had bad intentions in it.
i'm just wondering how come in their last fight their height were the same and their reach too, but now gsp is taller by one inch, koscheck lost one inch of reach and gsp gained two
GSP must have grown. Their stats in the first fight - height and reach were identical and in this fight George is an inch taller and three inch more reach. What is he Gumby?
