A new channel Rob. Good to see you back on RU-vid. Hopefully you'll be coming back to the UK at some point and i can get a lesson in person. Until then i may look you up on Skilest.
Your videos are a treat Rob. Simple and direct, I've got 30 years of bad habits to overcome and your instruction techniques break it into process that I can follow and slowly adapt to. That said it's going to be a season of change.
Hi Rob,just seen your videos and clearly for all to understand. When I try to keep my arms straight as you show,I tend to produce tension in my arms and affects my swings.Any advice please, much appreciated
Hey Rob, I tried this S&T when it came out many years ago, could not get the hang of it, ran across this video a couple of months ago and followed your excellent explanation. I am hitting the ball much better, especially the longer irons. The Driver not so much. Is the Driver a somewhat different swing? I have a fair amount of low short flighted duck hooks
Thanks for this and all your videos. This drill with the tour striker is helping me lose that chicken wing. One question, I’ve been practicing this drill with my wrists very loose. I’m letting my body movement move my, now straight arms, arms allowing the wrist to move only in reaction to the swing. Making sure to squeeze that ball throughout the swing Ball contact seems much improved. Am I correct to allow the wrists to move only in reaction to the swing?
Great question. Typically, there are 3 main reasons. The first one is having the weight too far back/behind the ball at impact. Secondly, if the radius of the swing lines up too soon (flipping), or thirdly, if your swing direction (path) is too far to the right (for a right handed golfer). Hope that helps.
Rob, how is it going 177yds off a 73.7 CHS and 107.5 BS? My 7 iron SS is around 75-78mph and 155yd carry is my absolute Sunday best off 110BS. 31° 7 iron. Am I just not compressing it enough? Cheers Edit: ignore this Rob I just noticed it was 147carry with 30yds of roll. Dont think I could play that on a course, how does it stop on a green?
@@robcheneygolf1 regardless, been following your videos and striking the ball the best Iv ever struck it. I still struggle for swing speed though. I’m at 78/95 7iron and driver. Any tips?
I have been playing golf for 20 years and have never been taught golf in this way. I think teachers purposely teach u wrong to keep u coming back. What a scam. I just took a lesson in which I paid $70, and the teacher kept telling me to shift my weight back. In fact, he kept pushing my hips back. I always noticed that with that position I was reaching or chasing the ball. And my ball direction was never consistent. Now that I have begun to put my weight forward, my ball striking and direction of the ball is so much better. I want my money back for all those crap lessons I took over the years chasing a game that would never manifest w such teaching.
