Stage 32: A Golden Opportunity | FFXIV Blue Mage Guide

For my own tips for this challenge. Always moon flute opener on mechanics you know you can avoid by walking. As in, don't use it when he does the fire wind combo or fire quake combo or during Blizzard. Even if you don't get it right due to spell speed, do a great 60 second rotation instead of a scuffed 120 rotation. /Blueaction Loom This macro will use loom directly on top of the target, in which case you can just move a tiny bit to dodge and use it a grand total of one time per gravity. Mighty Guard. Never forget. If you want to use the opener, take it off. If you're done with the opener, put it back on. If he crystals, never take it off. Save swiftcasting for Esuna. This is to ensure minimal amount of error and minimal damage taken from electricity while dodging thunder. When opening up first act, use boosted Breath of Magic and Mortal Flames without moon flute. Dumb as it sounds, it opens up a PERFECT opportunity to use a flute opener, as he will be casting Blizzard, fire 3, then quake. Mandatory spells are wind and ice. Mortal Flames is fire So just remember you need the other 3 in that case: Earth, water, thunder. If you're using all meta primal spells, you're set. Goblin Punch under mighty guard does the most damage over all other casted spells without. You're always guaranteed rotationals in the fight too. Only downside is that it isn't ranged. If slots allow for it, Fire Argon is the second best physical option. Mandatory spells, as in you will fail without these: Ram's Voice and Ultravibration Loom Any non primal wind attacks. Exu And diamondback. Spell to look out for when doing this attempt is Both Ends. It IS physical, but mind the range. If you kill the crystal, you ruin your challenge. If you don't mind having a longer fight JUST to be safe, opt for Nightbloom. There's various ways of tackling Goldor Rush. One full proof way is using diamondback, use it a bit early or he's going to blast you unguarded. You'll get vuln downs, but you will live. Another method is to just run around in circles while pointing the camera down, a bit riskier but you'll have time to react to RNG thunder if you move in a spiral. Swiftcasting diamondback or exu here is ideal as a fallback plan. There is no enraged, and he will repeat mechanics. If you fail, try again. If you learn how to do the dance consistently, just like every content in the game a clear is only a matter of time.

This wasn't a HARD fight to get the achievement, but it was LONG

Literally the worst blue mage carnival event to date. Lightning RNG is downright unfair.

For gravity u can macro loom target goldor, it will take u to the center of goldor. Just walk couple step on the opposite direction of the blast and u should be good, and u can spam goblin punch while doing it.

Thank you, it took me 2 hours to finish that challenge thanks to your video. I didn't have all the spells and had to choose other spells in order to still do some damage. I've resorted to use Goblin punch in order to do some damage while moving around Goldor more freely. I needed to stay close, but I could alternate with Fire Angon when I needed to be ranged. 😄

If movement seems to be an issue for folks and you're feeling sluggish, try disabling the camera pivot and select the Legacy Camera. This will make sure that you aren't forced to backstep slowly but you rather turn on a dime without losing any speed. Although you'd be forced to move your camera anyway, this at least prevents you from slowing down if you took one or two steps too much in any direction AND you can keep your camera in a desired direction if you want to have your aerial view on the boss at all times.

You could grab Mortal Flame for Fire, though it doesn’t work for most of act 2. Goblin Punch is also a nice filler spell that allows for full movement; the boss has no positionals, so it has its full damage at all times. That even allows you to bring Mighty Guard if you think you’ll need the extra insurance if its defense during Goldor Rush.

Just another option if people are curious and have the space for it During the gold rush with the diamond back cheese if you got time use Gobskin before he walks to the middle it helps avoid a vuln stack

Any tips on dealing with the combined use of goldor fire and thunder that happens in stage one? I havent seen any guide or forums tackle the mechanic

I seriously need to go get more BLU spells.. seeing you down him in less than 10mns when in my best attempt it took me 25mins because I have 0 OGCDs/big spells and I died when he had 10% left because I wasn't paying attention anymore at that point T_T

The random positioning of aoes during golden rush makes it sometimes impossible to avoid.. then it's gg

thanks for the guide! Did act 2 with challenge first try. took 20 minutes lol... also dont even attempt diamond for goldor rush, use mighty guard as a safety net.

I know im late to the party but if you cast Gobskin you wont get the electricity debuff, so no need for evasion. Made the fight alot easier for me.

Help I beat him without breaking the crystal and didnt get any achievements, doesnt show up in Latool ja either

i can't even get past phase 1. I can't get some of these spells cause I have no friends. I give up.

ive seen alot of people do this with Healer Mimicry on but for me after 7 failed attempts using it, i swapped to dps mimicry and managed to complete it the 1st try with that. Always save swiftcast for Exuviation and my health never seemed to below half outside of the diamondback mechanic part.

the random aoes are almost impossible to dodge, the homing one always kills me because I can't run into a safe zone, literally checkmate

you dont need loom for gravity, you can just stand right ontop of him and walk back and forth. Extra easy if you hold sprint for it

Cheater he using weapon level 80 already that’s why he took that big damage so how to defeat human level 70 weapon we’ll see how are you gonna deal with that

when he puts heavy on you Loom works great for avoiding the attacks
