Thank you for your reaction! I always love seeing reactions to the older songs. This song is friends singing for Audrey. Whakaaria Mai or How great thou art. The singers I know in this song are Angel Tairua (first singer) her mum is behind her, Stan sings next, then Fortunate (4 guys) , then Barry Southgate at the back by the door lol then I forgot the girls name but she's Maori Phillipino, then the middle guy I don't know and last girl is Angel she was on The voice or Australian Idol. That was beautiful! Have you heard "How Great Thou Art" in the Hawaiian language? The Christian missionaries were very busy in the Pacific Islands in the 19th century and brought about great changes to the cultures and societies of the native people who lived there, but one of the good influences they had was on the music in these cultures. (Though they frowned up the traditional forms of dance and chant.) After converting the chiefs and monarchs of Hawaiʻi to Christianity and giving them a writing system and introducing them to Christian hymns, many of the aliʻi, or royalty, who were talented and prolific composers, wrote songs in the Hawaiian language in this style of music. Iʻd like to share this special moment with Mark Yamanaka, another talented, award-winning artist from Hawaiʻi, when he sang "Amazing Grace" in English and then "How Great Thou Art" in Hawaiian (which I actually find more beautiful) at the celebration of life of one of Hawaiʻiʻs great musicians and educators, Cyril Pahinui, the eldest son of the legendary Gabby Pahinui. Markʻs songs for Uncle Cyril brought tears and "chicken skin" to many of the people in the church.
