Just a really brief video about this jump starter. I would say it works as advertised so far. Its easy to use and powerful for its size. However I do make sure to charge it after each use, and monthly.
Thank you so much for showing a demo of how to actually use the darn thing early on in the video. I looked up a couple other videos before I found this one and everybody wanted to tell me about all of the features… crap that 90% of the time I don’t need. I was primarily concerned with finding out if I needed to leave it attached for a moment before I tried to start the car or if I could just go right away and turn the key
I have one and I'm a mechanic ! My advice on mine . Always put it on charge every 10 days to keep it optional even if it don't need it and specially charge it the night before you know you gonna use it and then charge it again after use right away . These battery are finicky ! These battery cell will go bad fast if you are NOT on top of it charging protocol ... trust me. ! I keep mine always plug into a battery tender 24/7 .... no bad cell in battery yet . ..... My compressor on mine fail . It use a cheap plastic ring for the cylinder piston seal .... freaking junk ! I bought mine just to energized dead car battery until it will take a normal charge .... Very affective !
I have owned several Peak brand and they stink! Bought one of these and used for the first time and it worked perfectly. Last time charged like over 7 months ago and still holding power, great and would buy if looking for one with no fear
I have found that in extreme cold, it seems to work better if you hook it up and wait 3 to 5 minutes before trying to start it. It seems to transfer some of the charge over to the car that way.
Does the fuse end of the DC charging adapter go into the car or the unit ? And how long should you let it charge using your method and at what battery charger settings?
Here's a tip get a battery maintainer and attach it to the internal battery terminals with the ring connectors that will keep your unit fully charged at optimal power and make the battery last longer.
nice video, but allow me to say something: the first jack to be plugged onto the battery is always the positive one, and last is the negative. The first jack to be removed from the battery is always the negative, and last the positive.
Bought the STANLEY 1000/500 j509 in Nov of 2018. I have always kept it charged as per instructions. Even so the 2 times I tried to use it to jump start my lawn tractor it was unable to. Recently I noticed that the USB status light would come on randomly. I contacted customer service and was told some BS about the circuitry. The rep said to charge it for 40 hrs. I did so and after that now the three battery status lights come on randomly also. I just tried to use it to start the lawn tractor, after it had been full charged less than a month ago. Same story, no start. I put it on to charge and after all three lights indicated fully charged I took it off charge. The next day I noticed that one battery status light was lit. I put it back on charge and it seems to be completly discharged.
I got a 1996 Ford Explorer with 112 thousand miles I brought 3 months ago for 900 bucks just saw this video ima get one tomorrow I have had problems with my battery because I forget too turn off my lights from time too time being high in shit so this will be perfect
I have this same unit for almost 4 years now and the light started to turn on by it self, can someone tell me how to fix this light please, it keeps draining the entire battery
, Hi, I bought the Stanley jumpit 600 and charged it fully. After 7 days the lights showed dead. I never jumped anyone. Was gonna take back but decided to give it a 2nd chance. I recharged it and It has stayed charged for two weeks now. What do you make of that?
@@jeffreycave1258 And really, I have used it with only one red light showing in the Status Check. That's not ideal, but if you forget to charge it for a year, chances are good it will still work.
It's about 10 lbs. Yes it has the port to charge smart phones, ipads, laptops, etc.... $69.99 on amazon. There is also one without the air compressor for $59.99.
Yes does work I just used mine yesterday to jump and charge my battery after a alternator change that drained my battery and it was 28 degrees outside.
I have found that in extreme cold, it seems to work better if you hook it up and wait 3 to 5 minutes before trying to start it. It seems to transfer some of the charge over to the car that way.
SXI96 I have the same question. I just got mine and still can't figure out how to charge it using the connector in the back. Let me know if you find any tutorial about it.
If you have any computers, look at the plug that powers them. Be careful, and unplug it from the socket, but if you disconnect that cable from the computer (assuming that's OK with the one you have), it's connected to the power supply, you'll see that it's got a female end that goes onto the prongs of the power supply. A cable like that is what is used to power this jumpstarter, and most of the newer ones I'm seeing for sale. If you to Amazon and look at these units they'll usually include a link to one of these cables.
fake i have one stanley 1000 a as well but u have to wait about 30 sec to let time to the thing to charge the battery otherwise the starter would not turn unless u wait enuff
Stanley DUMPit, I had high hopes when I bought it, I like the Stanley name, but the compressor didn''t work after about a month and 3 tire fills. Also when you fill the tires make sure you put something underneath the jumpit, mine cracked from the cement. Put a phone book on the bottom or something to cushion it. That alone is bad quality having to even think about that. I wouldn't buy it again.
