Star Trek the original series was the original program that sparked the Trekkie phenomenon as we know it today. But it holds up on its own even today as a great example of how a modern mechanized world can still value humans. In 2024, it feels like humans are less and less important, our world is more and more geared towards machines with the obsessions around productivity and money. But in Star Trek, the world is even more machine oriented than ours but the machines are nothing more than tools. While big tech and it's CEOs and leaders convince us that we will never be as valuable as computers, the original Star Trek valued only humans above everything else. Our abilities to intuit, feel emotions and navigate complex paradoxes and thought patterns makes us an asset in the of technology. We are the creators and we have the capacity to do all that the machines cannot because we made them. While AI, the meta verse and bitcoin claim to have value to improve human lives, they are hamstrung by financial limitations whereas humans have value by nature of being humans. We have the capacity to help each other, think critically and improve the world just by being human. The original series places technology in its rightful place, as a tool for humans to use, not our replacement.

Still on after 50 years, with new series still being made regardless of quality. Hardly long forgotten.

The Original Series is my favorite. But for some people the new ones are more relevant. I was referring more to the Original Series than the franchise as a whole, which is alive and well.

Really enjoyed your video. I don't find Spock-Kirks's time sterile at all. Original series probably wont be forgotten for decades or even longer. I would love to live in the galaxy that the original series crew lived in.

For sure! The Original Series is a classic! But, to be honest, men weren't very emotional back then. Personally, I enjoyed that fact, but I'm a weirdo. I wish I could have lived in that world, too.

Concentrate on one phrase you disagre with but ignore the overall subject matter. I'm just impressed the creator reacted with grace and ignored the troll inspired baiting.
