@@noahfessenden6478 same i play half way through till i find a stage of enemies that i like and then just vs them on hard mode over and over till im bored at least twice a year 😂its a amazing
this game is why i cannot get into Jedi Survivor or Fallen Order, the combat mechanics in those games fucking suck compared to these games that came out 20 years prior.
Survivor so repetitive and unimpressive its gameplay is literally just tfu 2 with less gratifying force combat and dismemberment just better graphics and a couple more animations people act like its never been done before
@@jilliebean6312omparing Jedi survivor to tfu2 is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Survivor absolutely clears that game. Survivors probably the best Star Wars game ever
@@jilliebean6312and calling survivor repetitive when talking about tfu2 is silly. You fight at max like 6 enemy types that were all in the previous game. The blocking is horrible. And the bosses are horrendous
Awesome video! I love how clean that kill at 4:20 is, landing on the elevator and everything. I'm in the process of editing together a similar compilation of Jedi Academy, I've posted a couple videos of it on my channel but there's always so much more to show. This game came out in 2003 but its combat has yet to be surpassed imo Looking forward to more videos like this!💜
@@TheEFedsAreComin it´s very subjective don´t you think. Many don´t favour the amount of control you get for your movements because there is too much to do and it´s hard to master. Talking more of moviebattles 2 here though
@@TheEFedsAreComin on highest difficulty you get fall damage just from falling from 1.5m height, and thats without counting random oneshots from Rodian-sniper mfs, even Reborns weren't such a pain in ass.
@@jilliebean6312 how does playing on normal mode mean their opinion doesnt matter? COD is a nightmare on Veteran mode, that doesn't mean anyone considers it a difficult game series. and i would not consider Jedi Academy to be a difficult game, certainly not in a way that would deter others from playing it like the OP suggests.
Lightsabers actually kill people unlike modern day whiffle bat of the Disney era. This game came out 22 years ago and still has the best lightsaber combat to this day.
Give me combat like this over Dark Souls every day of the week. I don't hate Dark Souls, I just don't find it that interesting or challenging, it simply requires a bit of patience. I've never cared about Star Wars but even I as a non-franchise fan love Jedi Outcast & Academy. It's unbelievably epic when you approach multiple enemies wielding lightsbaers and you have an frantic extended duel.
wtf this combat is literally run around while spamming attacks while killing everone, meanwhile dark souls type combat requires skill and tactic and makes every duel a challenge (and im not 100% a dark souls fan as i have never finished one of them)
@@paquito4147 Funny, no DS game combat to me ever felt like it required skill but more like dozens of patience that were not worth it. While academy on every playthrough you feel like getting better, improving the moves you use, the tactics you rely on and every fight feels dofference. In DS games is "memorize X enemiy's moves, know how to counter the 4-5 each does, repeat"
@@Eeshank2 In one where challenge doesn't eauate repeate the same 4-5 moves over and over by rxploiting the enemies repetitive weakness loops amd having the game's challenge relying 200% on them
This was the best jedi game ever. My favorite star wars experience. The only one that came close was force unleashed but Even though the power was more dramatic it was slower and clunkier too.
Am I the only who's getting A LOT of Jedi Survivor videos showing up when you're browsing specifically for Jedi Academy videos? Like, I was searching for Jedi Knight Jedi Academy Dual Wield Gamaplay and it showed up about 10-12 videos before showing up this one which was the first video that actually matched the criteria of what I was looking for.
it's because of the youtube algorithm. jedi academy isn't searched for nearly as much as jedi survivor, so it assumes those are the videos you'd be interested in. you'll also struggle to find any videos with a small number of views.
That's because it's an amazing game. Seriously, look at combat in most games these days and how over simplified it's become....Looking at the Arkham titles et al. The combat in Outcast & Academy fluid and dynamic, not something we can level at many games these days. I'd love for a game to have quality combat in the modern era.
to be honest dark forces 2 and jedi academy are perfect 10s in my opinion, the others, well outcast was close due to it's story but having a hard time killing enemies in the beginning without a lightsaber, because it takes you several levels to get it, and some levels were confusing like the swamp level making me quit the game, so i'll give it a 9, dark forces 1, it was a good game 8, and mysteries of the syth, it was still good, but a 7 is not bad, that game also had confusing levels to.
first time i've seen someone try to play this as cinematically as possible (at least when clearing out fodder enemies, the saber duels still look pretty jank, but *feel* great). edit: i redact my statement 4:15 was clean as hell
i never figured out how twin or double bladed lightsaber reborns can get to use the fast singe saber fighting style, or some cultists that were able to use the single lightsaber as a double bladed one
you mean when you choose dark side? i think going dark side is harder in general because you have to fight kyle, then in the final mission, you're killing EVERYONE instead of having the jedi side with you. i think that's pretty hardcore.
I would like someone to help share some tips. I try playing this game on my Xbox but I don’t understand the combat at all and it feels random at times.
Does anyone know what the advantage of duel-wielding lightsabers in this game is? I played the heck out of it back in the day, but I never found the dual sabers to be particularly effective. Lots of flashy moves, but the actual hits seem to take longer to land.
Been a long time since I played this game, but what I recall is that dual-wielding is all flash. Practically speaking, you're better off with a single blade.
Imo, i found the crouch primary attack move really powerful and has a high chance of hitting the opponent, and to me it felt like dual sabers were better at blocking projectiles(it could also just me thinking that bcs it's literally two sabers so itd make sense)
They would have to reboot Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast, not look at other games like Sekiro, but take them as base and improve them, such as manual blocking, greater speed in combat, enemy Force users who are not so bullet sponges, greater ease in defeat ranged enemies, destructibility of scenarios, enemies and us by the lightsaber, and new gadgets, such as Force imbued armor and grappling-hook.
You press the primary attack button (What you use to swing the saber) rapidly, note that on higher difficulties ie jedimaster you will always lose these against bosses and should use force push to escape them
I just started playing also Im on the hardest difficulty and like the first half of the game was pretty easy but Jesus these last few levels are hard af
*Choose difficulty* -Padawan 👈🏼 -Jedi -Jedi Knight -Jedi Master 💀💀💀 Let me see you do the same thing on “Jedi Knight” difficulty then I’ll be impressed.
@@TheCakeIsNotLie i meant that the enemies who use them are op, i was using that double bladed saber and tbh it looks cool, but it kinda sucks to use it.
@@Thoregor really? i personally find that apart from alora boss, dual wielders are usually easiest, except for when they do the floating saber instakill move at moments notice
@@TheCakeIsNotLie for me they are op because of their flurry of attacks and i usually kinda play very offensive (with a mostly defensive weapon, i know its my fault now) so i get hit quickly and multiple times.
There are force only enemies in game, i even remember blue cultist on Vjun that had Force Lightning stronger than Level 3 Force Lightning, on highest difficulty he can easily oneshot me. I think player also can do force combat only, though sometimes you may not be as powerful as enemie's force-only fighters.
I never did like the 2 lightsabers that much, they welt so flimsy and fickle, like twirling a sticks, no impact in the swings compared to 1 or 2 bladed one
