Reminds me of the 2000's when everything was just in general better, no one glued to their phones, people talked to other's without shoving their phones in their face, everyone was just .... Oh well.
I'm not sure why Showtime didn't hunt down the last of the queens and infestors at the end. Taking pot-shots at Serral's structures until the infestors got their energy back seemed like a bad way to go. I guess he didn't have any detection left if they burrowed. Okay nevermind, I answered my own question. 😂
and he might have won, if not for a couple of moves like being late to sacrifice probes then losing too many probes, then serral realizes there must be hardly any probes left so he goes to kill every last probe... Or then at the very end, losing 1 oracle = no detection, thats huge. or just casually missing opportunity by not taking out every single creep tumor in sight by attack move stutter stepping the tempests during boring flight over creep cause they have huge range and high DPS but you cant let them idle.
I’m starting to play again after an extremely long hiatus. I forgot how deep the game was, how much fun it is to cheese your opponents, setting your armies to hot keys so you can fight effectively. Forgot how much I loved this game. ❤️❤️🙏☺️
It also helps these players all wanna go late game and can't handle cheese or all ins. They ain't like they were in the WOL days. Wouldn't even get out of Bronze back in the day if you couldn't stop cheese
lol...I love at the end how Serral fungals Showtimes entire army like 8 times and Showtime just leaves it in a huge clump fight after fight. Like if Showtime actually split his army and microed in any of the late game fights outside of stutter steeping he would have easily won.
showtime mostly came out ahead in those fights though. serral didn't have enough anti-air to kill the fungaled army and ended up losing many infestors.
@@zzasdfwas Dude don't rationalize it. Reverse the roles. Would Serrals army had survived if it was clumped vs storms? No? Then why should Skytoss survive easily?
How could you not look at the final resources lost!!! We HAVE to know! You end your casts too quickly!! Great cast, amazing game!! Can't wait til next week for the new game of the year.
I found myself helping Serral at one point in this game... I was screaming Burrow, Burrow, Burrow your 3 queens hes got no detection, and then 5 seconds later he does it. Your welcome Serral ;)
Gotta say man, Showtime threw it away so hard at the end. Like the only thing he would've had to do is keep the Tempest SPLIT UP. Instead he clumped them up and gave Serral the opportunity to use the neural. Urgh that me facepalm so hard, great game nonetheless.
tbh he was dead anway. serral could neural a solo tempest and kill it with the queens. and then just wait for energy to do it again. showtime threw the game but it wasnt then. it was when he sacrificed almost all of his probes despite being nowhere near maxed out, or when he lost his final oracle for literally no reason
I was watching this live and it was absolutely insane, even though ShoWTimE was already down 0:3 in the series. Probably the best game i've ever seen and I have seen a loooot of games
GAME OF THE YEAR - so much game clutches, I can't breath properly because its so intense. This game match is like your playing all 3 campaigns in 1 Legendary Epic Battle!
Damn the endgame was wonderful. Deserving the game of the year title for sure The whole game was full of unusual(drops, Muta vs phoenixes etc)moves while not really being mistakes Thanks again for the great content 🙂
Nobody's talking about how much money showtime threw away towards the end with the batteries, static defense and rebuilding that nexus over and over. I had a sinking feeling most of this game thinking that my favorite zerg serral surely would lose this. I can't believe it
@@alderweghier3935 interceptors are pretty easy to counter, I shot them down so quickly with mass hydras. They're also expensive. Carriers nowadays aren't as strong as StarCraft Broodwar's carries anymore, easily countered by many type of other units.
These players are sooooo bad! Would beat them both in my sleep with my hands tied and only using the mouse no cap. "Professional" is just because they get paid in instant noodles and energy drinks, and sleep in bunks with others that don't shower and can't maintain personal hygiene. Please get a real job and not embarass yourself. A proper Zerg rush by any accountant aka the true spreadsheet warrior would put them both to shame. I'm ready!!!
As a Protoss player, Showtime made me a little bi nervous for 2 reasons: - not using more of the robotics bay units since they can be very efficient against roaches, ravagers, zerglings and queens - using the Stalkers for way too long and consequentialy switching to skytoss far too late Then he basically "shoot his own foot" with some bad decisions (recalling when he should not, using storms in favor of feedbacks which would probably prove more useful in his situation). But nevertheless, awesome showtime from the two of them while the protoss player definitely stood up to his name
My prayers go towards the poor probes at the end, who were doing their best to carry some extra minerals, for a new interceptor. Literally 1 new interceptor Great cast as always!
This is how Starcraft 2 should be played. Two strong warriors fighting all the way down to the last mineral. The ultimate result is a stalemate where all resources are gone and no damaging units left :D.
33:25 Why the heck is he sending his probes to die when he has only 159 supplies? He should have used them to mine the golden base ASAP. If he did, he would have minerals for interceptors in the end. This one unnecessary move is what cost him the game.
Because there is a limit to how many workers can mine from a patch. Perfect efficiency is 2 workers per path, absolute max is 3. But I do agree that since he could not max it was not a very meaningful action to sacrifice those workers, he probably thought that he could max eventually.
@@Leonhart_93 no shit but you know whhat happened immediatly after sacrificing all those probes? serral attacked and killed all his remaining probes. if hed just held onto them he could have replaced those lost probes. but instead he sacrificed them for zero reason when he wsnt even close to maxing out. also having mre than 3 prob es per patch does actually mine more minerals. its not the "absolute max" its just the softcap where they start becoming less efficient afterwards
@@Leonhart_93 That only applies when there's a nexus right there. With long distance mining, the more workers, the better. Rather than trying to constantly rebuild that bottom nexus, he should have flooded the gold minerals with excess workers to mine them out long distance. Then he could send them to die.
What a nail-biting game. Endgame came down to the wire, was backing the underdog ShoWTimE for most the way, but I guess the adrenaline gave way and thought he was close to the win but didn't make the best trades in that finale after he lost the Oracle and the two Tempests. If he bided his time a little more, could have been a different outcome but it is what it is. Serral has certainly proved he is good enough to win, even with his opponent gaining the golden mineral base. Kept himself in control no matter the situation, waited patiently to strike clinically and decisively, earning him that awesome Victory. 100% agree with this being a GotY.
Lowko you should start making a game of the month. Then when you have the 12 for the year you can do summary video and announce the actual game of the year in January 2023
If someone wakes me at 03:00 on a sunday and asks me : "Whats your son nickname!" i answer: Hr§gN?!% If someone wakes me at 03:00 on a sunday and asks me : "What is ShowTimes nickname" I answer: DIE MAUER! Thanks lowko ;-D Love your stuff. I used to watch your content with my baby sleeping on my belly,.. cause he would wake up if you put him on anything but skin. now hes 9 . And if he wants to be a youtuber (like all the Kids nowadays) i tell him : watch lowko , go to his homepage, check out his videos, look what he did over the years. this guy did it right! Do like him and you will do well.
Lowko you should do a yearly highlights, and maybe your top 1-3 games considering that you've had so many "best" games for clickbait purposes eg. "Best 3 games of 2018, 2019, 2020" etc I'd watch that, even if it only directed me to the videos like a table of contents
Lowko, from now on just title them all "GAME OF THE YEAR CONTENDER" or some variant, and at the end of the year we can vote. You can ever do a show with Harstem, Winter, Lambo, etc. etc. and talk about them.
great game, great cast! I don't like the the overlay symbols for resources/workers/min/gas, and I would likeit to have a +xxx +xxx for minerals/gas harvested (like the 'old/other'(?) one had)
Is this Showtime suppose to be a copy of the Korean Showtime from wc3 days? That be like naming myself Grubby or 4k.Grubby, every time you say Showtime I can't help but to cringe. Can this name stealer get canceled?
I am only at the opening phase but I gotta point out how satisfying it is backseating for Serral. At the very worst there's 5 sec delay between me pointing something out and him actually doing it. I know it doesn't seem like much given he's supposed to do the correct moves but it's really rare even at that level to be that optimal.
Ok, 15 minutes in and it's really weird. I say Serral's gotta get his carapace (not ranged) upgrade and he queues it up 5 sec later together with flyer attack. I said earlier to get that top forward base and entrench it with 3, no 4 spines and 5 minutes later there it is. Exactly 4 spines as optimal but with better timing cos now broods can cover it. Seriously it's like anything smart I can gather by not doing milion other things and just observing he does but even better. This is just weird. I guess the grind is a pathway to many powers some consider unnatural.
Ok I know it's pedantic AF but Serral did loose games in 2018. He never lost a series, but he had his share of 3:1s and 4:2s. It is still unmached record on the circuit, though.
People seriously think this is game of the year? Aside from Showtime's one decent fight at the 35:30 mark it's mostly just Showtime throwing away units and not attacking when he should have (what was he doing with the carriers after they were spotted? Serral had no corrupters at that point), plus the game looked like a clear Serral victory after the 37 min mark, not remotely close. I expected something more tbh.
Lowko is the most funny host for these games! :D and that Serral the most antipathic player with his shit race zerg! no offense Lowko, i know u are a zerg, but zerg sucks, have way too many alternatives of playing against the other 2 races and it don`t feel fair! you can be the best driver in the world, as long as u drive the best car arround, you are nothing! those vipers and infestors are the most unbalanced units ingame! and both are zerg!
More like throw of the year. He played so good all game, then let's Lurkers kill his gold base over and over when he has mass skytoss, couldn't believe he kept leaving it exposed. Wp by Serral though great micro and decision making.
You should make a video series called "Moving the goalposts once again" You can put every "game of the year" in that playlist. Probably would make the longest playlist on this channel.
What a game.... I feel like a lot of these "game of the year"s are often disappointing (no offense, lovely content just not THAT insane games) but this one was spectacular. What a gripping game Holy shit
Lowko, I hear your voice and it puts me to sleep. That may seem like a disrespectful comment but I promise you it is not. I am so comfortable listening to your voice commentate my favorite video game ever that I can easily fall asleep. Please never do what that H to the ugly husky guy did and disappear without any explanation. Thank you for all you do!
Like a kid in a toy store. This is game of the year, no no wait, this is game of the year, oh wait, I didn't see that toy, this is actually game of the year 😂 I really do think this is Game of the Year so far. My nerves were absolutely frayed and I'm only watching. Imagine playing that game and trying not to fat finger your control groups. Breathtaking game.
Nerves gave out sadly. ST outplayed Serral hard for what felt like 2/3 of the game then kept rushing once Serral waited out resources and blead out. Good stuff tho
That game was slow, really not the best one imo. And also you are placing way too much adverts in this video, really painfull. I'll get back on twitch with no ad.
Its so fucking upsetting... Again, and again i see "pro" run their speel casters into useless death and not in a huge battle or micro macro senario ... No no, just suicide in a low apm setting for no fucking reason (im speaking of the oracle at the end but not only) . Had he kept that oracle alive instead of suiciding it for nor reason what so ever and using his FOUR carriers so get vision he could have won, prooving again a severe miss read of the situation risking his oracle where it was his most valuable asset
