@[Rei] UwU I don't think so... I actually think Mengsk is the only true antagonist who is NOT controlled, used or even isnpired by Amon... You know; all his ambition about taking the Sector was motivated by his hatred for the Confederation; and decades before Amon's awakening... The first relation between Amon and Mengsk comes when Valerian meets Narud (the Xel'Naga server of Amon, in human form) and the both found Moebius. In the shadows, however; Narud also befriends Arcturus; and while it appears to serve Valerian and Rainor's attemp to rescue Kerrigan; he is secretlly triying to help Mengsk to kill the Queen of Blades... but even if Narud and Mengsk work with each others (after Char, Narud even delivers the Xel'Naga artifact to Mengsk so he can kill Kerrigan when she attacks him in Khoral) we never see any action made by Mengsk ever controlled or ever suggested by Amon or even Narud. Mengsk acted allways for his own sake; betraying Kerrigan in Tarsonnis due to her past as a Ghost; and later tried to kill the Queen of Blades solelly to save his own ass from her vengance. So.... No. Amon is awakened by Narud's creation of the Hybrids; and Narud activelly tries to help Meng's to kill Kerrigan; as he knows she is the only one capable of ascending to Xel'Naga... But Mengsk is never controllerd or even convinced to do anithing. He has his own reasons to be totall dickhead.

Mengsk isnt controlled by Amon, he's just a major villain in his own right, with his own interests

HorusHeresy1982 Not really a fan of using nuke, as a decent enemy can spot the Ghost pretty quickly and either pull out of the way or kill said Ghost. Though i must say, nuke is the most satisfying to use when you managed to hit the workers near at mineral patch.

the trick is in sending 3 nukes simultaneously: 1 in the main, 1 to the army, and 1 in an expansion. There's no way one player can react fast enough to save all 3. But i meant, to kill the zerg in that mission.

I just made a several-layers thick wall of bunkers, siege tanks, missile turrets, and firebats in front of the bunkers to delay incoming enemies by a few seconds lol. Worked like a charm. Zerg never got past the first layer.

Nova and Tosh were a couple, then they both got their memories wiped.

she's also one of the most nuansed female charecters ever. jumping from a hotshot ghost to an evil bitch and then to a snti hero and then to the savior of the galaxy n shit...i mean...god damn.....

MrFantocan Mass Recall had it in clouds as a compromise, so I just say she took the elevator, and that's what drained all her cloak energy. 500 years in the future and elevators are still slow as shit... and yet still way faster than taking the stairs. That would have had this entire cutscene taking place inside.

in the campaign u build your encampment right? its different from real SC universe. Kerrigan has only a detachment, her task was only to delay the protoss of mass extinction on that planet. Because the real play of Mengsk is to use the psi emitter to lure the zerg on planet Tarsonis. Its a covert ops , only a handful of soldier and small detachment. Tarsonis was the confederate planet. Thats why after placing the psi emitter, the confederate finds out that they were invaded by mengsk they place a blockade or a diversion by Mengsk to hide his real intention thats what "THE BIG PUSH" mission means.

To put it simple : a plot demands this. Shrugs.

actually, it was more like she was embracing her supposed death, up to that point in SC1, every Terran thought the Zerg were just mindless beasts that kill everyone and consume everything that isn't Zerg, Mengsk assumed that the Zerg would just eat Kerrigan like the rest, and by his own admittance; Raynor thought that Kerrigan was dead until the original Zerg Campaign. even the PLAYERS back when Starcraft first came out thought that Kerrigan died at the end of the Terran Campaign only for the Overmind to deliver those shocking words in the fourth Zerg Mission; "Arise my daughter, Arise.... Kerrigan!" in this cinematic; Kerrigan is simply thinking "Just kill me and get it over with", hoping for the peaceful release of death to take her, but as we know from Dramatic Irony; what the Zerg had in mind was much, MUCH worse. especially since the original Zerg Campaign revealed that not only are they are controlled by a Hive Mind, but it is EXTREMELY intelligent and knows the concepts of Pragmatism and taking prisoners ALIVE.

And Abathur did mention her body was "weak and soft, broken bone, tore flesh" and turned her into The Queen of Blades is to "Improve her".

Lordlt82 Actually i am sure that GOOD screenwriter team could create pretty good and plausible storyline for the movies (yes, this would require in fact more than one movie)... BUT... key problem laying before StarCraft franchise is not in visual side of the potential movie(s) but i don't see right now any good Director who would meet to the challenge since i doubt that SC is in Peter Jackson's (as example) area of interest when M. Bay or (GOD FORBID!) M. K. Shyamalan should stay from SC franchise far as possible....

I don't follow. She shoots the three zerglings to death, then the big guy shows up. She takes a few wild shots while trying to get into a more advantageous position, then kills the big guy.

"Wild shots" > "to get into a more advantageous position" you just defined covering fire. The big guy is the same hydralisk that broke down the barrier, it out paced her and cut her off. that whole time she was laying down covering fire in hopes to deter it from taking action, but it took action anyways and cut her off but she blew its head out anyways

There were actually several inconsistencies between the game and the books. For example the Protoss mission where you went to hunt for Tassadar, was in the books presented on Char's surface, whileas in the game it was an orbital platform level. Likewise here in the last Terran missions, in books the battles were indeed fought on planetary surface, amidst the ruins of Tarsonis, but for some bizzare reason Blizzard decided to go with space-platform approach, anyway.

AzureTemplar I'd take game canon over book canon any day, since the books are based on the games themselves.

AdderTude Well on the other hand I consider the book-canon to be more realistic and believable, at least if we consider the planetscapes. Taking the Char for example: how propable it would be that there would be a giant, hovering space-platform in orbit around a volcanic planet that the Zerg have had as their home-world for a long time? Certainly it could be an old abandoned platform used by the Terran miners to launch missions to the surface of the planet for gathering minerals before the Zerg wiped them out but it feels a bit far-fetched... And yet there is a point that bugs me about the books, too. In the books there is a scene where it is described how Dark Templar have suits, largely resemblant to those of the Ghosts, (*SPOILER WARNING*: the scene where the Dark Templar infiltrate the Zerg hive and kill Zasz *END OF SPOILER*) that allow them to cloak themselves. I mean... What? I always thought that they could use their psionic powers to bend light and become invisible, not some tech-vest, especially when we look at how Blizzard has implemented Zeratul in the cutscene where he fights with Kerrigan in the Xel'Naga ruins - he uses his psionics to blink and turn invisible. I guess it's kind of a believe what you wish, each to their own.
