I grew up in the seventies. This and the other 'Stare with mother' videos bring back so many dark memories of children's TV. Only now, looking back can I fully realise what we children had to endure. Expressing my view that this video appears to be a work of genius feels overly ernest, because I also laughed my tits off. Thank you Quentin.
yeah I remember in kindergarten in the late 80s I had a teacher that would take a small group of us into the smoking lounge in the school(they had those in the 80s to the mid 90s) and for some reason they would play an 8mm recording of this for our group. I remember it being like someone recorded the tv with the 8mm camera.
I’m loving the extra feeling of anxiety and dread that stare with mother will never follow… it will never be… and the waiting announcements will just get worse… for ever! A Lucozade fever nightmare.
It was a charity clothing store. My mother asked me to wait there and she vanished. The elderly lady staff member volunteered to watch me. I was told to stay out back, with these things. She said “don’t look at them” …
Holy crap. Congratulations on having the world's most frightening RU-vid channel. You've taken the essence of what "wasn't quite right" about 70s children's programmes, and turned it up to 11!
