We're about to enter a period in our lives where other people stop seeing us around and start to forget that we exist. The lost years. Future generations will ask, "was that from the lockdowns?" and some old timer will laugh, "no, no. It was Starfield."
I'm really excited, but in the back of my mind, I still feel like it's too good to be true, and I'm trying to brace myself for the possibility of it being a buggy mess at first.
@@Freg-ld2loI feel ya, I haven’t been this excited in a long time for a game. I remember hearing about Bethesda trademarking the name “Starfield” in like 2014 and me and my friends making theory’s on what it was and here we are!
I kinda want it to be a little buggy maybe it’s just my take on things but i feel like it kinda adds to the bethesda magic as long as the bugs don’t break the game or affect performance I say let there be bugs
About the "Skyrim in space" bit... Yep... I feel the same... I also hear people saying it'll be FO4 in space... And my response has literally been... "Awesome... I look forward to thousands of hours of gameplay then..."
@@lathikamihiranga except Starfield actually looks like it's got good space combat (NMS's ship combat is complete arse) and has a real narrative to drive the game forward...
@@lathikamihirangano man's sky looks like a previous gen game with no story and the world exploration gets boring kinda real quick. Starfield appears better in every way
i recon that the delay for a year last yea will have been what all these updates and versions were maybe they had a plan to release and update in a year but then realised the game would do much better if they waited and had an amazing release in this recent climate of shitty releases
Nah this is PR BS. How you can have 1.x before 1 if 1 did not exist in first place? The thing that they will realese in 12 days it is 1.0. just called 1.xx
The “why were review copies sent so soon?” sentiment that’s out there is hilarious given just a week or so ago people were handwringing that review copies would only drop a few days before release because Bethesda were hiding the game. Some people will find any excuse to naysay this game.
I feel Bethesda may be playing it masterfully. Everyone is on the edge of their seats waiting for any news. Come early access week the hype train gonna hit us like an actual train.
That’s because Bethesda has a shit reputation when it comes to releasing games that are buggy piles of shit and put out half assed updates then rely on modders to fix everything else to add in basic shit that should of been in the game at drop. Look how many years it took 76 to not be a pile of shit because they can’t allow modders for online games. It’s still half shit compared to what it should of been. Elder scrolls online took 9 years to get to where it is now and it’s still not anything special. They made that instead of elder scrolls 6 and fallout 5 and then shoved most of their people into starfield to finish it without more delays. 🤷♂️ triple A games these days
we, as consumers, have a right to be wary. This company in particular is notorious for buggy messes and over promising. I'm waiting several days after launch before I buy.
Nahhh one “community” is salty as fuck over this game and they’ll happily brag on social media about making alt accounts to review bomb it when they can.
@@Helghast73They aren't gonna be able to stop promotion of the games exposure when commercials will be on social media or TV for that matter.. And it's definitely ok to say the sony ponies lol

People forget this game was suppose to launch in November of last year. So for the past 8-9 months, they've been doing nothing but polishing and fixing bugs. I have little worries it will be buggy.
Good thing it is singleplayer only. Sometimes people like to go to areas with limited WiFi or none at all for whatever reasons and a power source with a good old Bethesda game to kick off the evening to is a good thing
@@Antonnn1111If it did have multiplayer, it should be an optional game mode type thing like borderlands or cod, not always online like Diablo 4 or outriders. Especially when most of the time you likely won’t be playing with other people.
When it comes to bugs, I never mind those small ones that make you smile. In Skyrim, I encountered a funny bug where after exiting whiterun, some NPC came flying out of the skies, hit the Whiterun gates, and looked to me like nothing had happened. When I interacted with him, he was a potato farmer from a nearby farm. I was playing the game on my TV (bought Skyrim on PC) and those I was with and I began laughing, and we now had the legendary potato man! I honestly hope Starfield has those minor funny bugs, they ironically make games feel lively and fun. Nothing major, just tiny little things here and there to make one happy and smile! Edit: as for only supporting FSR, I don't see that as a negative. FSR is open source and available on all graphics cards, whether you have Intel, Nvidia or AMD. yes, it's not "as good" as DLSS, but it gave my 980ti a boost in Cyberpunk, allowing it to maintain 60fps while not dropping quality down to smear levels of pixelation. That's why I'm not exactly negative towards only FSR.
Definitely! Those make the experience memorable for years to come. I’ll never forget the levitating cows! I never experienced any serious game or experience breaking bugs with any BGS game but a lot of people did which I think is what they are worried about.
How did you not receive an early copy sir! Btw thank you for protecting us from spoilers and having a harsh view of those who fail to keep their copy to themselves! I’ll be watching your reviews exclusively.
@@Beloadi420but starfield signal is a starfield only channel and has basically been promoting the game since it’s announcement so it kinda seem obvious why he would get it
Will be on gamepass on august 31 for a month or so. Then when i have the money i will buy the xbox x console just for Starfield 😊 that shows how hyped i am. Been a playstation player since the 90's but for the sake of Starfield i gladly shift gears.🎉
Wait. You already have game pass for pc then? If you do, why not just buy Starfield on steam to save yourself the cost of the Series X? Personally I have the X and a newly acquired beast of a PC. I’m playing early access on pc game pass and staying on that platform to 100% achievements. I’ll be playing on Steam once mods begin being pumped out.

But i have a very large 4k tv, so that is my number one sourse playing this game for the next few years.
You can see a huge difference between starfield 2022 vs 2023 showcase the delay was a great decision now we can enjoy starfield 🎉 xbox gamers deserve a great experience after so many years waiting for a goty
Even with the bugs, Fallout (3, New Vegas ,4) & Skyrim are my favorite games of all time. Thousands of hours played on them. Not waiting for reviews, pre-ordered and already downloaded the game. I'm a simple guy so I expect to play no other game for at least a year.
Going to dread the unofficial patch mod though. As good as they are at fixing bad bugs, they also have the habit of 'fixing' interesting bugs and exploits that make the game more fun. In vanilla Skyrim there is a bug/exploit to get both of Hircine's artifacts. . .but with the unofficial patch mod. . .LOL NOPE! It's one thing to fix a game crashing bug. It's another to 'fix' something the devs may have left in on purpose to make the game more interesting.
@@chadharger9323 True, it also fixes e.g. the vendor stashes that npcs use to trade with the player used in various videos on youtube (ymfah, spiffing brit) probably for balance. imo for a game as unbalanced as skyrim it's best to let the player balance the game himself. I never used the alteration loop enchanting because I know I'd be bored after 20 minutes with such gear, but I don't think it should be fixed because someone might actually want that (don't even know if the USSEP removes it). Hopefully the Starfield unofficial patch will follow that logic, or at least 90% of the mods won't require it to be installed.

This all bodes well for an excellent start for Starfield. As for finding no bugs after 15 hours of play, I have no doubts it is true. Todd Howard did say that Starfield is going to be their most polished game to date. I'm going to be super careful what content I watch for fear of spoilers as I want to experience Starfield for myself and be surprised by what I find. Every day that ticks by, the anticipation is growing. Starfield is going to be a very special game and the only other games I felt that way about were Skyrim and Mass Effect
Skyrim done something to me that no other game did... fully immerse me. It was a wild adventure and this game is just oozing with that same energy. I can't wait!
It's gonna be hard to avoid any spoilers for 2 weeks, usually it's a couple of days but I think 2 weeks before release is way too early to give access. By the time the game releases there will have hundreds of leaks, I can't wait for their presentation at Gamescom though!
A great video as always mate! 👍 Microsoft normally sends out review copies around 10-14 days before the launch date. This is just the norm that they usuallyl do... I expect Forza Motorsport to be the same as well... So far, impressions are positive which is great to hear! I'm looking forward to seeing more Starfield content as we get closer to launch, keep it up!
Here’s the thing. I don’t think bugs will be as prevalent in this one. This game was ready for release in November of 2022 according to Todd so they’ve had 10 months to play test and possibly add features that they wouldn’t have had time to originally.
5:01 I definitely agree that upscaling exclusivity should not be a thing, but if there had to be one then I would choose FSR, purely because it actually works for everybodies GPU's.
The powers are literally re-skinned dragon shouts. And there are only 16 main quests. The achievements are so bland, they mainly revolve around collecting and using skills. This is gonna be a mile wide and a centimeter deep.
I’ve had that exact thought about people making the comparison to “Skyrim in space” in the form of a COMPLAINT. Uhhhh okay? That sounds amazing. I have owned Skyrim since original launch and play through it at least once a year and is my go-to during game droughts (as well as the mass effect trilogy). The fact that I prefer sci-fi over middle age fantasy hypes me up even more for starfield.
@@viego5494 early access starts September 1st, but depending on your timezone you may get to start playing the evening of August 31st, and its only for those who bought anything other than the standard edition
Wow! Huge Super Chat, and so many thanks! Agreed on the spoilers. Probably best to choose a few news sources and strictly stay with them. Anything else opens you up to seeing things you may not want to.
With the FOV, I’ll never under stand how someone can play below 70, it feels like everything is right in your face, I play at 95 and anything lower just feels like I’m shoving my nose into a corner
It's crazy to me how so many people are picky towards bugs when it comes to BGS games, yet here we have BG3 (which I absolutely love being about 200h in) being unconditionally praised whilst releasing with probably the most and often times rather intrusive bugs (especially when it comes to the 3rd act) of any major release ever. Still a very well deserved 9/10 at the very least and most certainly the best game since TW3 or even Skyrim, don't get me wrong, but the same people praising it and then complaining about BGS titles in regards to bugs is just so confusing to me.
You are a gentleman for not showing spoilers on the channel. I have unsubscribing twitter and RU-vid content creators for this reason. I want Starfield to be a fresh experience. And I am glad that Starfield is a single player game. Bethesda is known for the best single player games. Even though I would like to I can’t play 15 hours straight on a game. I can only play two or three hours at a time per day. So literally, this game is going to take me 10 to 15 years. Which is fine I love to be entertained. I’m tired of the multiplayer games that don’t work. Thank you for covering Starfield.
an FOV slider is essential if they don't have one as a feature I will be angry because it should be industry standard as this isn't just some cosmetic thing I suffer from motion sickness and narrow FOV actively gives me violent headaches. Also it being single player is BASED we already have so many multiplayer titles just go play those it's nice to play a game that doesn't require an internet connection.
The conversation is between RU-vidr Tyler McVicker (Valve News Network) and some other people on discord, he did receive a copy for review and yes he broke some rules, not sure if he’ll get black listed for his comments prior to the lift of the embargo or what but his comments on the game have only added to the hype for Starfield
Hahaha Post Malone is the Boss! Just wish he'd embrace the Metal he so clearly loves in his own music... He's like E-Type... A metal-head who plays shit music for the cashflow.
If you pre-order a major game in 2023 and expect it to run smooth at launch *your naive below the age limit for that game* (It probably will be a good game, but no major gain by pre-ordering, just risk)
when you have 5 games packed into 1 you cant manage to get it down in 5 days before release. they want good(or very very good after that certain fallout game ) reviews and to get than they need to give more time to reviewers. but the things that worry me is the leaks that will get on near release and the amount of min maxing guides that will come out. you might want to stay off the internet and social media if you are not into that that best build/weapons/locations and other min/max stuff.
This is gonna be the game that starts the Xbox generation. This will also show that if Xbox focuses on a game’s production from the beginning it will release fixed. Redfall was a title where they trusted the studio to make a solid game based on their track record of previous games. So it was extremely hands off. This one they literally made Bethesda changed their release date to actually stress test the game. It’s the difference between Zenimax and Microsoft. Zenimax was pushing for micro transactions and for games to go live service as well as rushing releases. Xbox I feel like is gonna tell them just make the right game however long that takes.
Bethesda wanted to release starfield last year, but Microsoft said no and told them to work on it more and delay the lunch. So yeh say thank you to Microsoft.
@@Chee6It’s their job to do things right and not sell a broken game. This satisfaction with mediocrity is why so many AAA games come out broken these days.
I have already downloaded it on my PC and the Xbox. I really love that I only needed to buy it on Xbox and I have a copy on the PC. The total download of the premium edition on the PC was around 155 Gb
I agree. Nothing but positives in my book!!!! Looking forward to some spoiler free preview/reviews to watch for the few hours before I actually get to play!!! Getting very excited now. I installed on gamepass in case my constellation edition turns up late. Just as a fyi I went and looked into the install folder and some of the file names are a little bit spoilery so don't do what I did!!!!!
I've seen the leaks have been 'debunked', but considering they were awfully specific, consistent, pretty believable, and match other data (few bugs + version 1.6.x), there's a strong chance the 'debunking' might be the youtuber trying to cover their butt after a private conversation got leaked and breached nda.
as for the fov slider, whether we have a actual slider or not is not a given but what is a given is the engine, you will likely be able to use a simple command like FOV 90 works in every bgs title to date, even doom.
The only reason I could accept from Bethesda and AMD not commenting on the exclusivity of upscaling techniques implemented into the game, is if Starfield is going to be the first title to support FSR 3, so their intention was to surprise the community. I really dislike these sponsorships, but even if they do it I absolutely can't get behind not answering a direct question. Only implementing FSR 2 is a net loss for a huge chunk of the buyers on PC, and since DLSS can be implemented in a matter of hours by modders, this is just scummy / anti consumer behavior. I don't know much about Bethesda's previous track record, but crippling their own product on purpose for any kind of reason is just publicly taking the L to me. Their message is: "We care more about AMD's money than the actual consumer". I already feel the Blizzard vibes I got way too much in the previous weeks / months from Diablo 4, I really hope I'm wrong about this.
I am mainly a Destiny 2 player, and while I am taking a break until the big reveal for that game next Tuesday. All I keep finding myself doing is wanting to play Starfield. I can not tell you how excited I am to get my hands on it. I have purchased the constellation edition as well, and I kind of wish I was able to play it now, but I guess waiting a few more weeks is fine with me 😉 While I am super excited for this title, I keep thinking to myself that this experience should have some type of multiplayer option to it. Granted i understand that it is a single player experience they are shooting for but i have always felt since its initial reveal that the game should at least have the option. Even if it were only a 2-player option, the whole idea of taking over a ship in space with a friend would have been so much more exilerating for me. Perhaps bethesda will release a mod or an update for this type of option at a later time because i really do feel like this game should at least have a 2 - or 3-player multiplayer to it 😅
I honestly think that this game was SO big for xbox that the extra year or so was probably just bug fixing, if they launch a clean game it will boost the xbox brand no end.
It was exactly that. If it had released last year then it no doubt would've been a Redfall disaster. Thankfully someone above Todd told him to fix the game.
@@chadharger9323 rumour was Bethesda were set to release before the Microsoft acquisition (around 2 years ago) after buying them MS basically said no and then delayed it.
As a person that loves exploration and freedom in games, I can't stand when people want to be hand-held through a game and have the storyline and game-play on rails.
No bugs... I'll believe it when I see it. We've been calling it Bugthesda for years for a reason, after all. Skyrim in space is a bad thing because it's already been done and redone over and over (there's like what, 3 rerereleases now?) Of course, I"m someone who hasn't enjoyed a single Bethesda game enough to finish it, despite being a huge rpg fan in general so...
I'm confused. How are they datamining a preload that is only supposed to be available at the 30th? Or did they datamine the console version? That version not having dlss support shouldn't tell anything though.
I don’t care how far into the version cycle it is when it launches, it’s still a Bethesda game and I’m going to be very disheartened if there isn’t some broken physics bug that launches you to different planets faster than the ships you can pull off with a can of food and a rock.
Premium Edition includes: Starfield Base Game Shattered Space Story Expansion (upon release) Up to 5 days early access* Constellation Skin Pack: Equinox Laser Rifle, Spacesuit, Helmet and Boost Pack Access to Starfield Digital Artbook & Original Soundtrack * Actual play time depends on purchase date and is subject to possible outages and applicable time zone differences.
Tbh I’m not taking version 1.6 as an inherent mark of quality. There’s no reason they couldn’t have marked a practically broken minimum viable product build as v1.0, a versioning system is completely within the standards of the development house
Since being burned by Cyberpunk 2077 I was sceptical about Starfield but it does seem like Bethesda are doing everything right so I'm now cautiously optimistic.
The Game itself needs 106GB Harddrive Space on Series X. 126GB is included the Artbook+Soundtrack App (16GB). This is not very much. Compare to Assassins Creed Valhalla has 150,7GB All DLCs (Basegame 110,0GB)
Α few bugs and glitches is understandable for a game of this scope, especially a BGS one. Those aren't going to ruin launch, poor performance will. Let's hope FPS is not attrocious.
"Its not an mmo" is probably the worst criticism I've ever seen. Why are we still fighting the battle for singleplayer games? Why is this still a thing? Hell, look at BG3. As great as that game is, there are certain aspects of it that are simply worse than other Crpgs strictly because Larian built them with the multiplayer functionality in mind. I've seen the complaint for so long that "BGS games don't have multiplayer." Well, Fallout 76. THAT's what we get. Just let single player games BE single player. I can't believe this is still a conversation we keep having.
We can expect Starfield to be AMD FSR exclusive. I also expect that Starfield will be released with FSR 3 which is their version of frame interperlation or frame generation. If not at release within the first months of release. Which is fine, I don't own a Nvidia GPU any more so DLSS doesn't help me; however, I would have liked to see the option for both upscaling technologies. Again however, if only one is an option FSR is the better choice as it can be used on more hardware.
Just a warning, take anything Dreamcastguy says with a grain of salt. That guy is a Playstation fanboy and has posted nothing but "There is no hype, doubt the game will launch" and other takes to make the game come off as a failure. He is snorting that Playstation fanboyism like coke. Also be aware that many Sony Fanboys are upset that Starfield isn't coming to Playstation and have declared they gonna review bomb it (one guy claimed to have made 1000 metacritic accounts just to get the score low). They also want to spoil the story cause they are that salty the game comes out on xbox but not on Playstation...same wierdos who keep saying that Baldurs Gate 3 is a Playstation Exclusive and that over 600k pc gamers are enjoying a Playstation exclusive right now and even the devs (Larian) publicly replying to them "It ain't a Playstation exclusive". So be warned about these group of no lifers, they are very salty and for a bunch of 35 - 45 year olds they sure act like little toddlers.
Makes me really happy about the 1.6.x Bethesda is hearing and listening to players of past BGS games where buggy releases are a big 👎. I’m so glad they’ve put extra time and attention into starfield release day experience evident by this greater than 1.0 release.
Bro It's the other way around: FSR, while an AMD technology can be used on any graphics card. DLSS and XeSS are proprietary solutions availables only for respectively Nvidia and Intel GPUs.
I am so desperate for a great game to finally happen. I remember when great games were a regular thing. Gamers were guaranteed at least 4, maybe 5 great games, and at least 2 incredibly great games a year. Ever since 2020, great games, dare I say, even good games seem to be extinct. I am literally foaming at the mouth for a banger. Starfield is not a great game. Starfield is not a good game. Starfield is not even an incredibly great game... It's an absolutely amazing, one of a kind, AAA blockbuster! I want to play this game soooo bad that I would literally, absolutely pay $1000 to play it right now! I'm freaking serious. I'm so jealous of the individuals who received early access review codes. Not only is Stanfield a truly amazing game. It's a game that I've been dreaming about for years. I've always wondered what a futuristic Skyrim type of game would be like. I used to tell my nephew that a Skyrim type game in space with guns, spaceships, planets, and space stations would be my dream game. That was in 2013. Little did I know that my dream would come true in 10 years. I was 35 back then. Now at 45, I need gaming more than I ever have. Gaming helps me wash away stress, relax, escape to strange new worlds, and go on exciting adventures. I need Starfield. Gamers need Stanfield. It's a shame that the game is a Microsoft exclusive. While I do own a PS5, I lean more towards Xbox and my gaming rig. However... Just because I'm Team Xbox doesn't mean that I'm a soldier who participates in the idiotic console wars. I'm all for sharing wonderful experiences, not gate keeping them. It's truly unfortunate that there are PS5 owners out there who can actually afford to purchase a Series S/X or a gaming rig, yet refuse to so because of... Because of... Well, I don't know why, but they won't. That's crazy. They would rather console war than play Starfield. Even though they actually want to play Starfield. Some of these individuals are my age. It blows my mind. If you're one of these individuals... Cut it out. Grow up. You don't have to pick a side. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford 3 consoles and a gaming rig. This is why I hate exclusives. These days, a decent mid tier gaming rig costs about the same as a next gen console. If I had to pick, I'd go with a pre-built gaming rig... More variety and options for games. Thats it, I've made this longer than I should have. Just proves I'm really passionate about Starfield!
To tack onto the FOV slider point, I honestly doubt Bethesda wants to increase their default FOV’s. This is because they do not simulate the first person body, increasing the FOV would just point out that you do not cast a shadow or have a chest/legs in first person. I posted a comment on the Steam starfield discussion about this, pointing out in the the direct moments where you could see the first person view has no body or shadow, but most people told me they didn’t care for this feature or that I’m being petty.. I’m picky about FOV and first person camera details as well, but it seems like most of Bethesda’s Fanbase are not.
I'm still waiting a year to get the game. Mostly to upgrade my pc, but also i just know that if it's lifespan is anything like skyrim, it won't matter how long i wait.
IKR - "Skyrim in Space" is said as some kind of pejorative. But even if that is ALL this video game is - it will be an amazing game. I've loved the ESO franchise since Daggerfall! It ranks up there with the (now defunct) Might & Magic franchise in terms of how sandbox games should be made. To be placed in the same league as Skyrim is a massive praise for ANY RPG title, not a condemnation. I really don't know why people think it's a negative when it's STILL flying off the shelves some 10 years later. (If only other titles could be so lucky. Making sales 10+ years after release is a dream for most titles)
yea all i care about is the tech info that Bethesda is completely quiet about, can we travel entire planets or is it limited maps? Can we explore space or is it more cutscenes like landing/takeoff? etc etc..
If the version format is what I expect then it would mean each number determines the scope of the internal version that gets distributed to your team and others (hence why the last number is usually a 0 to signify only those versions stay internal to that specific team). So that means they had 35 internal versions and another 6 versions involving the other teams before agreeing to launch. Of course this is just a fun guess to make and their process could be different.
Small details I wanna see in starfield .... Linking the starfield universe to the fallout universe through references to earth tech....i.e. vault-tec, pipboy, nuka cola, abraxodyne, big boss cigarettes, general atomics etc ...I think it would be cool if starfield is a distant future of the fallout world...maybe references to the war and how it started, the alien invasion in fallout 3 ....lots they could reference mildly just to for a bit of Easter eggs . I think a nuka cola recipe or item you can find would be sweet, maybe an old pop boy statue you can dig up somewhere
