Yeah it took possible galactic genocide to get him to even begin to consider helping Ba'al so yep, bit of a history between them. It's a pity we never got to see Ori vs Replicators.
@VestedUTuber
@VestedUTuber 4 года назад
@Hikaru Midomiya Well, the Ori themselves would, assuming no intervention from a certain 3rd party that has made themselves the self-proclaimed police force of ascended beings (granted, not without good reason, but still), but I'm pretty sure the Ori's followers vs the Replicators would make for a far more interesting matchup.

Stargate SG-1 was the ultimate example of "Hold my beer", all the power of the Ancients, Asgard , Nox and Furlings couldn't stop the Gouald for 5000 years, but 20 teams of beered up Americans broke them in under 10 years
@ericlanglois9194
@ericlanglois9194 4 года назад
The Ancients were dead/ascended before the Goa'uld even entered the stage... the Asgard had their hands full with the Replicators in their own galaxy and their Protected Planets treaty worked well in the meantime so there wasn't an urgency to do any more. The Nox became pacifists, presumably before the Goa'uld showed up as well and the Furlings just plain disappeared without a trace... also presumably before the Goa'uld made an appearance. So yeah, kind of easy for the Goa'uld to become dominant, decadent and overconfident in those circumstances.
@edwarddeguzman3258
@edwarddeguzman3258 4 года назад
Eric Langlois you forget the Episode The Fifth race in which an agreement between the aforementioned races to tackle the Gouald, and not all the Ancients ascended, remember the Romans called them the Gate Builders and the rebellion in Giza took place before the rise of the romans
@TheValentineEnemy
@TheValentineEnemy 4 года назад
The Ancients got eliminated by the Wraith and those who managed to avoid that fate either ascended or just spent their lovely time on Earth without doing much. So yeah most threats to the Goa'uld just disappeared over time or were not able to do much other than giving them a good scare (like Asgards or maybe Tollans...until Anubis that is) Also everyone just took advantage of the replicators taking out the Goa'uld until only Ba'al and perhaps and couple of tiny Goa'uld rulers were left in the galaxy (and well, Anubis but he had other problems to deal with), so without them those "20 teams of beered up Americans" would still be fighting against system lords....
@edwarddeguzman3258
@edwarddeguzman3258 4 года назад
Jerry Mathurin except for Merlin and the knights of the round which is around 900-1200 ad well past Giza , and we know the main reason the Asgard weren’t directly involved is that they were dealing with the replicators and the Alteans were also more concerned with the Ori
@anom7227
@anom7227 3 года назад
Okay everyone. In rewatched the episode on the fifth race, and then the rest of the series cause this show is awesome. The ancients were wiped out about 2 million years ago, after the weapon on dakara was used to create life in the milky way galaxy. The human/ancient female found in Antarctica was from about The same time period, which is the only explanation, because the continent wasn’t incased in ice until about 5 million BC. The gate in Antarctica was over 50 million and was said to be the oldest in the network. Now, the ghou al’d began to evovle the same time period as the ancient were being wiped out from the plague. The episode ’The Fifth Race’ talk about the race who taught the romans about the construction methods from the roads as ‘the builder of roads’. There is some suggestion in actual mythology that giants actually roamed the land at the time and shared their knowledge with the romans. This was the golden age of mathematics and engineering for the Roman Empire, occuring in sometime in 300-70 BC. (I know the time frame is a big gap, but there are no records of who actually designed the roads and many names of visionaries throughout Roman history). In SG1, Daniel was comparing the Gtaebuilders to the Builder of roads or way makers. And yes. The humans arrived and tipped the balance of power. Many small dedicated strike forces, encouraging others to stand, shifted the war in the favor of freedom. Not to mention, the Asgard have protected their galaxy and others from the Ghoulad, and the replicators, while the Nox evolved and became a non-confrontational species. Merlin, O’neil and Joe Spencer were all humans with the noble gene, and further along the evolutionary path then most. It stands to reason that there may have been others in history who possessed similar attributes. However, there is nothing saying that Merlin lived only from the 10th century. He could have lived millions of years ago, been preserved in stasis,only waking up every few hundred centuries. Morgan La Fey was an ancient, Merlin knew of the ori and their insanity as well as their origin. And Morgan La Fey was either a friend and Ally, or was using Merlin for the fight. Anyway, that is my 2 cents.

The Tokra don't really fool me. They're still Gould they just have a different philosophical view & way of doing things than the System Lords. Reminder: in Allegiance, they acted like the Jaffa didn't deserve to step or share a planet with them & treated them like any System Lord would. In season 4 episodes 3, 4, & 5 (episodes involving Anise/Freya) SG- 1 were basically used as guinea pigs or were somehow held back & intentionally did not receive information & resources needed to do what needed to be done. In this episode it's revealed that the Tokra had a device to track the movement of System Lord fleets but did not tell their allies they had any such device. Jacob had to steal it to help out his friends.

If I had to choose between Macgyver and O'Neil, I'll take Mac every time. O'Neil was always to much of a jackass for me to warm to. I mean, remember the episode where Daniel becomes the equivalent of a system lord and is about to destroy Moscow? Jack fires on Daniel only encounter a force field protecting him. Daniel then tells Jack " You never were very smart."That statement fits O'Neal to a tee.

I’ve always wondered how this technology works. When Sokar dialled in, he had to project his face by bombarding the iris with particles to replicate his face. Wonder why he didn’t use this image hologram technology. Also, how would Baal even see/hear Jack if he’s projecting his image.

when they made the movie Stargate Continuum they made one fatal mistake . Baal was one of Ra's minions at the time that he reigned on earth whitch means that in the SG1 era he was more than 5000 years old since the rebelion of the egyptians against Ra occured 3000 BC .Now we all know that when Apophis was on the verge of dying after asking for refuge at the SGC his body was decaying at a rapid rate since his symbiote was to weak to keep him from aging to fast and Baal was as old as Appaphis was so how come when they took out his symbiote vala said i'll go help his host to come to term with his past when normally the host should have tarted aging almost immediatly in the same pattern that Apophis's host did and another thing even Vala is a parodox herself cause we know by the same movie that Vala as a go'aould never left Baal side in 50 years when Baal changed the past whitch means that Vala's host is also very old so how come in the series she wasn,t an old woman instead of a yound one like she was now that she didn't have her simbiote anymore . I think thats where the stargate series started to lose ratings to the point thath they had to end it cause the plots started to make less and less sens

Baal not aging could be a side effect of the genetic tampering done when Baal made all of those clones of himself. Or it could also be that Baals host is a lot newer than the one Apophis had. Same could be said for Vala. Its possible that the Gould Qetesh did not take Vala as a host until after Qetesh fell in league with Baal.

Jack is so.. irreverent.. and does it so naturally (and with humor), its really easy to miss that its not machismo, but more like a coping mechanism. Imagine what loosing Tealc in season 7 would be like with how loosing Daniel in season 1 went down.
