I love the part at the end of the episode, where it is revealed that Jack has been having just as detailed visions of this guy's life as a barber in Indiana for seven years but never told anyone about it.
This byplay between Jack and Daniel is what put this series above everything else. "Broke into your house?" "Yep". "Second time in two weeks." "Yup." "Alarm". "I'm thinking, dog." Awesome.

Well i entered the wrong Hotel room when I was like 9 After seeing a stunned family of 3 + some fat slob in the shower, I just did a heel turn and headed back I think I might have gotten into trouble had I been an older person at the time, though
CoolsBreeze indeed, I noticed it was the voice of Homer Simpson when Joe cried in the episode after having a vision of Daniel ascending. I looked it up and there it was. The Simpson’s reference was a nice Easter egg.
Star Gate was fantastic science fiction but it's comedy timing was also amazing. Credit where credit is due, the actors and writers absolutely nailed this show.
The absolute best scene is when he looks at teal'c and goes "I understand the hair but didn't you use to be more gold coloured" leaving teal'c to be speechless
It's been many years since I first watched this episode, but I just realized something; Most of the time, people in the show (correctly) say "Asgard" as the plural of the race, but here Joe calls them "the Asgards" - something Jack O'Neill himself occasionally does, a very clear suggestion that he's somehow gotten all the information directly from O'Neill.
Joe should have been the official SG barber. He already knows all of their secrets and after the fake "Wormhole Extreme" came out no one was going to believe him if anything slipped out. At least help the guy rebuild his life a little after the trauma he went through.
Umm yeah not only does he have peace of extremely rare and advanced ancient technology they will compensate him for but also im sure they will get him to sign a non disclosure agreement from now (considering the mass of classified info he know) in which the air force will also considerably compensate him for, after this he will be able to buy a house outright
the best part is near the end when daniel is asking if he found it weird that he was having visions of a barber and jacks like "sure i did.. i know i did"
one spoiler ahead. Best episode for me so far! This actor did awesome job portraying Joe. Scene when he saw death of Daniel, his reaction almost brought me to tears. In other moments I laughed loudly. Fantastic idea and performance.
Every time i see these clips I get a big ass smile on my face. This show was such a huge part of my life growing up. Lets hope a new show actually comes about. Rumors always rumors. Though Atlantis ended to soon and univers ended waaay to soon.
I just hope they don't ruin it. I mean, they've pretty much thrown out the entire older fanbases for Star Trek AND Star Wars in chasing younger markets, so Stargate could be next on the chopping block.
Haha I recently saw the episode "Beneath the Surface" in which the team's memories are erased and Jack says: "I remember something. There's a man... he's bald and wears a short sleeved shirt... and somehow he's very important to me. I think his name is... Homer." I immediately thought he was referring to Homer Simpson, but when they got back to SGC I thought "Nah, he meant Hammond..." Right.
I laughed when I realized this is the second time in a week his house was broken into. He didn't lock his door despite the fact he not only has to worry about burglars but interstellar enemies too
Here's some awesome info if you're a fan of the Simpsons. Richard Dean Anderson was also on the Simpsons. It was the same year, it's like they both agree to be on each others show.
I was astonished that someone so high ranking and keeping so many secrets would leave their front door unlocked! Especially with weapons hidden around...but, yeah, it's Jack. :-D

I love how RDA actually played Jack's reaction to hearing Joe was a barber 1:11 It seems to me that was jack thinking "Wait, I've been seeing the life of a barber for years..."

One of my favorite episodes. It's like a member of the audience getting to meet and interact with the characters irl or something. I think that's probably what they were going for with this episode.
I just watched this episode a couple days ago and I never realized before who this guy is until I happened to recognize his name. When you close your eyes, you can almost hear Mayor Quimby. I guess he's why they had Simpsons jokes in this episode? 1:12 When you know the rest of the story line, you can see that Jack suddenly realizes he knows who this guy is - because of the visions he had of Joe doing barber stuff.
How did you not include when "Citizen Joe" met Teal'c?? That made me bust up laughing.. the way he grabbed his arm like a Jaffa and so excitedly and loudly said, "Shal'kek, nem'ron!" 😂 it was priceless.. 😂
I absolutely loved this episode ... and given that I absolutely loved SG1 that is saying something :) The hell Joe went through is something I think we can all empathise with - can you imagine just being an ordinary .. Joe ... and seeing this stuff in your head with no way of knowing if it is real but it *feels* utterly true?
@Evi1M4chine Lost just had separate recap specials instead of having it in the show. I suppose clip shows are partially because there were less reruns, recordings, and ways to watch shows back in the day. Additionally they could be used to do an occasional low budget episode.
I like how Jack is so used to security breaches now that some guy who broke into his house with a fake gun mentions "Stargate Command" and he literally couldn't be less interested lmao
This episode would’ve been better if Joes son was with him here and picked up the second stone then got flashes of Major John Shepherd from the pegasus galaxy...
