Owner of them told they have not been started for years but it doesnt look like this. Short wheel base - 1992 Nissan Patrol 2.8TD 85kW Long wheel base - 1995 Nissan Patrol 2.8D 68kW Big thanks for tow truck - / 102474548659495
Look at that. The oldest of the two, the one with most km, woke up immediately and pull his wounded comrade out of the field. Those were truly workhorses.
Man these things really last forever, like look at the condition of that car and it still starts like it was parked yesterday, all the gauges and electronics work too
@@Maximus20778 None of these videos are ever staged just look at the other videos on the channel where he battles for hours to get things to run. Diesel doesn't go off like petrol and providing there's no air leak so the system doesn't need a bleed it's completely possible for a diesel to fire up like that. Remember there's no spark involved either it is purely based on compression and particularly with a big diesel makes it all the easier. The most common reason for a car not to start having been sat for a period of time is a stuck fuel pump. In this case you could clearly see it wasn't stuck.
I still keep my late Dad's (Family MD / GP) 1.984 K160, (Quite similar to the short one on video, but has a P40 i6 petrol motor. (ER / ICU MD here). It had been sitting for three months when I took care of it. Firstly, I had EVERY single fluid in it: From motor oil + filters, also both transmissions + differential oils + brake fluid + power steering fluid / steering pump overhauled + brake fluid + hydraulic clutch system + motor coolant changed. Besides the above, every axle / bearing / oil seal checked for wear. Even urethane 'noise killers' in all suspension changed, as well as a couple motor and transmissions supports. That was performed between 2.015 until.2.021. After those updates, I had its body restored. Still has its original upholstery & furniture. NEVER sleeps outdoors, and is driven less than 1.000 km a year, but motor oil + filter + air filters changed at least twice a year. Now it shows almost 378k kilometers on its original motor + trannies + differentials. Running quite well so far. Just once or twice a week, though. NOT for sale, BTW.
I Always loved the patrols my father used to had 2 of them a 1986 white 5 doors 3.3D sold when i was very young , and another one from 1992 2.8TD sold in 2016 great 4x4 excepted the rust, the sound of the 6cyl diesel was so good 👍
Same as I commented / description on my late Dad's Nissan K160, also performed to a Toyota FJ40, another FJ43, two Toyotas FZJ73, one '95 Four Runner, one Land Cruiser 1.995 series 80, and a newer series 100. A few of above mentioned ones, actually exported as classics / collectibles, to several countries.
The SWB Patrol is similar to one my parents briefly owned in the early 90s. That was a 1985 model in two tone red and silver, very tough car but also too agricultural for an urban daily driver and the rust was already beginning to take hold at 7 years old, so they sold it on and replaced it with a Volvo 744 :)
У японцев гарантия на кузов 6 лет, в Японии после 6 лет машина идёт в утиль или конский налог! Машина и задумывалась как унитарное средство передвижения!
2 lovely big trucks those, very rugged and purposeful. I'd love to park one in my drive and stand out from neighbours who have new X5s.and audi Q7s. They sound great too.
That's how the real cars should start. These Patrols were built in Spain, model 260. Engine RD28(T), was also used in Japanese-built Patrol GR. It had some issues with cylinder head warpage, but generally these engines are more reliable than later 3.0 ZD30. And if you want something really bulletproof, then 3.3l SD33(T) or 4.2l TD42(T) diesels are the best choice.

Hey Flexiny! This is one of my favorite videos you've made. The place you have for test driving is awesome! I like that todor best, it reminds me of my old ford bronco II years ago. Great video! Thanks for sharing!
I would buy one of these beauties if France wasn’t so far away from Estonia! They’re very not common here and I love this gen. Great video like always, thanks for the lovely idling sound of this 6 cyl ! Cheers !
I actually have a nissan patrol 2.8 turbo diesel my grandad bought her in 1992 since then we still have her her engine is like brand new my grandad never took her off road never accelerate hard she was always took good care of her
I had always heard of the Nissan Patrol but had never seen one. These two look to be in great condition. I bet you can make some good money selling them. I'd buy them in a heartbeat if I wasn't in Texas! Great video!
What a nostalgic car, my grandfather used to have one of those, it had the 6 cilinder naturally aspirated from I think it was 1989, such a good car and indestructible engine, but it was so rusted that the driver dor started to fell off because it was originally from a city near the sea, and the consumotion was so high, so he selled it, and I always told him to not because I loved the car so much. Other than that, such an amazing ride, I really miss that car :(
My father had a volvo 740 with a Nissan patrol engine in it non turbo 2.8 i remember that beautiful sound. Of pure power the same engine as your long wheel base patrol. It uncanny how the izuzu looks like the short wheel base patrol
Да это мой любимый вездеход он очень хороший и комфорт и безопасность и расход не большой у нас был такой только 3 трёх дверный с мотором 2.8 турбо дизель и 115 кабыл я сейчас хочу себе такой купить
Two Nissan diesel they run for ever can't kill japanese vehicles hold their value new cars more computer not cheap anymore awesome video friend bless you happy holidays Christmas season coming up
Now thats amazing , i can tell you i have myself 3 Nissan Patrol k260 (short version) from 1991 , 1992 and 1993 , Gray , Black and Gray , all 6 cilinders inline turbo with AC fully restaured and original and i dont sell them for nothing! Those you should do the same!
Very interesting. We never had the Nissan Patrols in Canada when new. Lots of different older JDM 4X4s here now (mostly Toyota and Mitsubishi) but have not seen a Patrol like this yet. Too bad one is smokey with blow-by, and the other has low oil pressure. Maybe a gauge fault? The 4-door sounded nice. We have no vehicle inspections here in British Columbia, so both of those Patrols would still be on the road here!
RD28T AND NO T precautions are to be taken when you restart this kind of engine, aluminum cylinder head and cast iron block, you quickly overshoe and twist the cylinder head and the same if you do not let it heat up or cool down
Great video. My 4 year old son now asks to watch one of your videos whenever you post and my 2 year old daughter watches with him. Big fans here you've tought me alot. I was going to ask I have a old 1979 chevy g20 van 350 v8. Hasn't run since about 2018 belonged to my grandparents. I need to get a new battery and a new set of tires. I think it will fire up with little trouble. But the gas in the tank is from 2018. About 1/4 tank. Should I drain this first ? Should I try to start like you do with a second tank. Or should I just drain the old gas and put some new gas in ? Here some people have suggested using sea foam also. Cheers and keep up these amazing videos.
Thank you! Thanks for watching! I think just drain old fuel and check if there are rust residues in fuel tank and if not then just fill up with new fuel and it should start up. Sadly I dont know anything about sea foam because I'm in Europe. When you get it running then check that if it is not misfiring, first of all fix misfire because gasoline goes in oil. And do oil change after first run. Some people tell that it is better to do oil change before starting and some tell that warm up and then do oil change. I usually warm up and change it then. Thanks again!
@@Flexiny I got the chevy van running again first time since 2017** now it needs new tires and brakes and some body work. Thanks for all the knowledge you share.
Greatings from athens . !!!! When you remove the cap from the top of the engine where the oil is pured in when the engine is running. What are you trying to see exactly?
