Hey Emma, you add lemon juice to help lower the PH to help the pectin gel properly and ‘set’ the jam. Lemon juice also helps lower bacteria growth I think.

I've been wanting to go to Japan for a long time now, and I was planning on going after a big project I have is finished at the end of 2023, but something happened today and I now realise I won't ever be fit enough to travel, I have a lung condition and it's getting harder for me to just do everyday things. I am very down so I've been watching your videos all again to cheer me up, but at least I have them and others like them to show me what it's like and live vicariously through haha. Thank you so much!

I started laughing so hard at the "Look at this tiny pumpkin! Look at this child!" since that is 100% something I would do. My boyfriend heard me and I showed him that clip. He said, "That's you. How'd you get to Japan?" 🤣

If you have a Q & A I'd love answers to a few questions. In junior high I had an exchange student stay with us for a few days at least. I still have the kimono and a couple other things. I took a semester of Japanese a little after that time. I find it all fascinating.

usually you'll add citric acid like lemon juice to jam to help it set, if the fruit itself is not acidic enough.
@OllamhDrab

Oh, good, they've got blueberries over there. :) (Oh, also I think the citrus juice is to help preserve it, it has those properties. :) )

LOVED THE VIDEO! This might sound dumb but what is the most common way for travellers to get to the Kochi area from the mainland, especially if they have a JR pass?
@TokidokiTraveller
@TokidokiTraveller 4 года назад
Actually I just looked it up and you can use JR pass to get to kochi! It will take a while if you go from Tokyo because you can’t take the fastest train -nozomi. But the trip to kochi should be completely covered by JR pass 😄 to get to this specific area you can take a train to Tokawa station 😊 The quickest way to get there would probably be flying, but if you already have JR pass that would be super convenient 💪🏻
