in the last one hes stoned as talking about guns and he goes "dont bring your sword brother" was pretty good, made me laff. he is a funny character but I feel he will be used for nefarious shit watch out for a change in demeanor or a full blown difference in face there was two joe bidens, look into it
@@synchio He's definitely on the gear but the Joe Biden shit isn't too crazy, honest the photos of him over a couple years are pretty hectic, heaps different. Dunno if id be worried about span shapeshifting tho lmao
Kinda gotta be careful to who you give money to tho, I know it’s nothing to Spanian but some people are actually okay and just sit on the side of the road looking homeless or whatever and bring their kid so you feel more bad and give them money, sorry if that doesn’t make sense but yeah
@@expectationlchur889 Makes total sense, I live in Colorado and a lady used to bring her kids to the corner by the grocery store and beg all the time. She had a baby in a stroller and would sit there for 12 hours a day in the sun. Someone recorded a video of her getting into a nice ass BMW SUV and driving to a house. She used her kids for pity and made bank off people. Super messed up.
Spanian would have to go down as one of the most iconic Aussie RU-vidrs there has ever been. From where his life was to where he is now is truly remarkable. Only just started watching his videos this year & I can’t thank him enough for putting a smile on my face everytime I watch him. Legend
I was having a really downer of a day and feeling depressed. 20 minutes into this video and I couldn't stop laughing. My entire energy has shifted and changed. Love your personality Spanian. You're the best! Thank you for making these videos.
@@Jonny1312 the layout reminds me of a very old & cheap college dorm apartment, but converted into a hotel of sorts. This was incredibly tiny though lol and the courtyard should have been open air. It should have been at least a few times bigger, space for a desk, fridge/kitchenette area, a wardrobe, with windows both facing out to the street and out to the courtyard. Courtyard would have had shared tables and some plants/garden, cafeteria somewhere on that floor. Mine had a gym as well. Oh and the hallways outside the rooms should've been wide enough to have chairs and personal plants. Somewhat similar to prisons I guess. But no, prisons in the Philippines are much much worse and you do not get your own space nor a bed.
@@james9044 nah, I’m good where I am now. Hate to say this, but quality of life in PH will never improve. Too much corruption in our Government, the gap between poor and rich is getting bigger. Sad reality.
Mate there is no other RU-vidr out there that makes it feel like we’re actually there in another country with you. Your vids are so interactive, fun and funny, the only RU-vidr that has me sitting here for close to an hour straight watching 1 video. Thanks Spanian!! Lets OGG!!! Hope I see you around in Syd sometime xo
Im not religious but my fave part was when you said 'I love you God'. Made me put my phone down and reflect on my own life and how far ive come since being an addict and how much god..the universe has blessed me and my children. And so tonight I gave thanks to god and told him I loved him aswell and thank you Spanian for the reminder of how truly blessed we are. Mean vids brotha! keep it up. Stay blessed always xxx
Honestly ay, spanios definitely just sits there to reflect on his life and how he came from to lowest of the low to the very top and living in places like that,
The gifts of sobriety.I love your child like enthusiasm and your gratefulness. Thanks for making me laugh out loud, knowing there is someone out there, just like me too.
I’m so excited you’re in Manila bro I’m half filo but born in Sydney I haven’t been back to Phillipines in 20 years . this made me feel like I was there with you i hope you enjoy your time there..
I want to say it's easy if you're there just for a few days. Try living there for 20+ years. It's simply not possible to feed that many hands. And, as mentioned in a comment above, it probably all goes to the gangs who house and feed them. Most dress that way and bring their dirty kid exactly for people like you. Giving is not a bad thing of course, but there's an entire seedy side to the beggar thing here.
Thank u for giving to the mum and son…..u are very kind. That was my biggest problem travelling, I couldn’t walk past them and not help. First accomodation it reminded me of a place I stayed in Morocco, I ran..lol..last accomodation awesome lol..New Zealand. Thanks again, u always give me a huge laugh.
m8, i grew up in the Gong, Warilla actually. my dad was Aussie but he met my Spanish mum in London in the 70's, then they moved back to Oz and that's where i grew up. I left the Gong asap, lived in Newtown Sydney, then Fitzroy Melbs till 2000, when I went to live in London. Had my daughter there in 2004 and got stuck in Bristol UK till recently. I never stopped travelling, dragged my daughter on mad holidays all over the world. Now i finally bought a house in central Portugal and have been living here and building a house, (poco a poco) for the past 2 years. My daughter's nearly 20 and still in Bristol. She considers herself lucky to have had such a nomadic well travelled childhood which makes me proud! My dad died in 2006, but my mum now lives back in Spain in Madrid. From small beginnings in Warilla, i've seen the world and lived all over. lifes beautiful m8, the world is our oyster. much respect and love.
Spanian so cool seeing your journey from lad explains the jail/street life to influencer exploring cultures/countries. Bravo to the work and praise God for giving you strength to grow to the person you are today.🙏🏻🕊️
It's beautiful to see how grateful you are. 'I love you God' You've come a long way Spanios. Keep on the path brother, it will lead you to greatness! ✊🏽
Watched you for the first time today when your 'Alice Springs' video came through my news feed. Love your energy bruh and how genuine you are with people. I wouldn't have stayed either. 28 bucks is not worth the hassle. I am a Filipino living in Townsville and an Aussie for 35yrs now also your new fan. Cheers bloke and keep helping them Filipino people.
Spanian. U relate to so many people m8. I’m almost 50 years old… Aussie country bloke and can’t get enough of your vid’s… my nephews are lads and love ya…
"i actually have an appreciation for furniture now, so i know thats a bougie mirror and this is a very nice dressing table" ahaha found that funnier than it should. have been.
Bru, The top 5 hotels in Manila would definitely be jealous after watching this review. So authentic and genuine. You could have save the effort by visiting just the top 2 or 3 hotels and making the comparison. Still this vids would make it among your best lad.
I only came across your posts tonight and watched a few, I laughed so hard when you said I get my wife to make arrangements for accommodation for you, great video ..
Thank you very much for helping that mother and child. You have a very kind heart. Welcome to my country Mate. I was in Melbourne in 1998 to 2000 attended Monash University-Clayton Campus. I miss the place.
I've only watched the 1st 30 seconds of this so far Spanian, but yep I clicked on this cos the title & picture of the video had me in stitches... & so does your first comment predicting WHY I clicked on this video. But also because your videos are a fresh breath of air for thes times. Go Lad!!
A nice raw vlog. As an Aussie who's lived in the Philippines and SE Asia for 30 odd years it's great to see your vlogs. I'd never heard of you until I saw this and clicked it. Been binging @Spanian and love ya work mate
Hey man, I love your video! It made me laugh so hard.... You have to have been to the Philippines to fully appreciate the craziness that is Manila. I've been several times and one thing I've learned is it's definitely worth spending the money to stay in excellent accommodations. Trying to do the Philippines on the cheap could land you in some pretty unforgettable experiences (and not in a good way). Why go back? Because Manila is not really the place that will wow you.... There are over 7000 smaller islands that are spectacularly gorgeous. Experiencing those islands are certainly a reason to return.
I Stayed In OKADA HOTEL Every Time I Visited The Philippines , I Love Theirs Excellent Accommodation Don’t Care How much it Cost me just like I want to be Comfortable and pampered myself 😂😅😂😂✌️
@@marimar3161 Yes, I stay in Makati when I visit, and it is really nice. But I already live in a major city and even the nicest parts of Manilla are highly urbanized which isn't what I'm generally looking to experience after flying across the Pacific Ocean for 10 hours.
I'm so happy you got the Chicken Adobo, probably one of the most western friendly but as a filo myself it's always my first pick. When you said garlic, soy sauce and vinegar you're right!
RU-vid's algorithm did me a solid today by putting you in my recommendations. I have watched your illegal Chinese restaurant in Lisbon video already, I'm watching this one. You're hilarious. The opera hums on that good good take me clean out 😂 Chicken adobo is hands down my all-time favorite Filipino dish besides pancit. And you're right it's not a dish that is easy to describe but you know it every time you eat it. Simple ingredients but the flavor is out of this world!
36:10 Actually, you're spot on mate. Garlic, soy, and vinegar, are the key ingredients to a chicken adobo. There'd be bay leaf for aroma, any additions is just a custom version.
I was in Manila recently for the fiba wc. I must say i had the exact same experience on my first day - kids pulling your pockets, the apartment complex full of roaches, prostitutes and smells like bleach. then i moved to the area where the chinese live and it was insane how much can change when walking just 500m. the area was guarded by armed guards, no beggars, no prostitutes, just chinese people sitting on tiktok and drinking beer
You know what? The receptionist was probably trying to protect you when she said 'We're fully booked'. Like they can only go by name in the system, but the moment she saw a foreigner she could've been wary of your safety.
Bro I have been living in the Philippines for 6 years. I can say with certainty that she didn't want you to stay in the hotel because she saw the camera and didn't want to be exposed. Its a very sad thing that the resilience of Filipinos leads to them accepting places like this.
@@fredwardofalconist4th454 its a disgustingly dirty water filter. Usually attached at the spouts of faucets. My grandpa uses it at his farm when washing his car to avoid leaving watermarks in case the wind dries the water before he gets to wipe it. Never seen it this dirty though. Didn't even know it can become that color!
Eyyy Not sure if you know this Spanios, but the wiring thats all crazy and shit in SE Asia is normally fibre optic cable not power. In Thailand theyre sometimes cut and you can see the fibre inside.
I worked and lived in the Philippines for 4yrs was a good time and the people are lovely. You should of checked out the buffet at the Soditel and the Okada hotel for a night. The Cove bar is crazy and it has an indoor beach club there are so many fancy places in Manila.
