They have cheap prices, free peanuts, good theme and piss poor “steak”. Get ready for a good flossing from the ligaments, especially if you have sirloin. Even the steak you can choose isn’t select quality. If they claim choice or prime, it’s a lie. Lucky most people don’t know the difference between good or bad steak.
@@lookingbehind6335 haven't had peanuts since covid but they eliminated that. Like the prime rib that's my favorite choice for the chicken when I go. Here where I live in Chicago area if I want a steak I go to Morton's or Gibson's or The Capital grille usually
As a Canadian whose family used to occasionally visit Buffalo in the 80's and early 90's, Ponderosa was where we always ended up. Mostly because my family was cheap and a buffet was a great way to overeat. I also once visited a Bonanza. To this day I don't even know what the menu even looks like since we always just ordered the buffet.
@@user-zh9st7dl4h Not really I can get a meat, two vegetables and drink for 10 bucks here in TN. That’s what McD”s average meal price is now. Spending an extra couple of dollars for a tip is worth it in my opinion. Don’t even get me started on Wendy’s. Their prices have become ridiculous. Not sure about BK, I gave up on them when they changed their meat. Now all you get is a soybean infested patty that is 3/4in smaller than the bun.
I used to love eating at Claim Jumper when I lived in California, but I haven't lived there for 20 years. Used to eat at Sizzler and Ponderosa both when I was younger. Lone Star too.
i remember sizzler there steaks had a unique taste that was awesome. I miss sizzler i wish they come back to Texas. I remember bonanza they had good food too. Does anyone remember long john silvers they had those mini pecan pies boy they was good.
A Quaker Steak and Lube opened near me in Texas. I never went there. It failed miserably. It is now a cheesy restaurant called "Tight Ends," which features female waitstaff and bartenders wearing thong panties and lacy bras. The food mostly sucks, but the parking lot is always full... mostly pickup trucks. LOL
Wow I didn’t know Ponderosa/Bonanza was still around. Last time I visited ,the steak come out looking like a corpse. It was barely brown outside and grey inside. I don’t even know how that happens. Needless to say I declined a remake and left. It closed maybe a month later, I seen why. Claim Jumper had potential but took the cheap route. They didn’t have aged steak. Instead they used aged butter/margarine and poured it on after cooking. They were also suspected of using glued meat. Charging premium prices for lower mid grade products is never a good business plan.
