I think that he is a big help for American DDs. They are such good gunboats that losing a little reload time on your guns isn’t too big a deal. It’s their torpedoes that are awful! Even the few with decent range are painfully slow and underwhelming damage wise. Gleaves definitely helps . He gives the boats with faster torps but low range more flexibility, and his stealth perk allows the Atago or Tanaka perks instead of Swirski. Both help with torps, but Tanaka adds 5 % more damage. I agree with you on Benhem. Just not quite strong enough to carry most games. The torpedoes just don’t pack enough speed or damage. I’ve hit BBs 6 or 7 times and not sunk them. Nice review!

Got it in a santa crate. Maybe less carry potential but its certainly unique and fun.

Looks like fun build. Probably should just play it like that consistently.

I’ve just got him, I’m going to try him on the Benham with bey and Atago looks interesting

Just got him in the weekly crate yesterday, it’s a shame that I didn’t finish the campaign for the Benham to complete the set though. At least there’s always the possibility of it being one of the gxp ships later on though.

For full torp Gleaves just go Bey and Swirski you should be able to get your detection down below 5. I've got it at 4.9km with a 14.2 Gleaves (16.2 Bey, 15.2 Swirski). Still not as stealthy as a IJN torpedo boat but it gives the Benham 3.9 km to play with stealth torping. It's not nearly as competitive as a real torp boat but it's the best the Benham is going to get unless they buff the alpha on her torps.

Benham with stealth torp instead of twist'n'track is fun but does not win games (assuming "standard" team composition). The torps are lacking even after spec'ed up. With twist'n'track at least you get to fight DDs. But there are better ships for that so either way this ship is meh at carrying.

How can i get the benham?

Really like gleaves on benham, but not the fletcher. He sucks in the fletcher. Don’t try it and save yourself the pain

The Benham is not a good ship. Torps are crap damage. I chased a Benham in my Sinop into his smoke and he missed 1 rack but got all 4 on me the 2nd rack and I still had more than enough health to end him. I sold it after I got the Ognevoi because I needed coin to buy a T7 boat. My favorite boat is the La Fantasque. Screamer torps that do great damage and reload in less than a minute.
