That means a lot of pressure to compete every time he is out on court since he can't play every tournament like he used to when he was younger and dominating the sport. He can still compete against Nadal and Djokovic at his age and can beat everyone else regularly. He lost 22 or 23 matches where he had match points? Sure. But he was one point away fron winning them too, meaning that he did plenty of really good things during all those matches up until those moments. And how many times have we seen Federer fight back when down in the score? Plenty. Also, Federer's playing style is way more aggresive than the other two and his defense isn't as amazing as theirs, this means he has to play more and more aggresive as time goes on. That causes him to miss more by nature. Its a cumulative of factors and way more complex than just saying: "he is mentally weak".

Federer hit an approach shot that was called long by the line judge. The chair umpire corrected the call to be in and hence no challenge was needed. However, because of the incorrect call, the point could only be replayed, despite Federer seemingly having had advantage in the rally.
