This is my unboxing and first impressions video of the Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT Classic Ceramic. Haven't done a video in a while and delighted to be back with this beautiful watch! Already looking forward to the short term review :)
It’s good that you had a break, I completely get it. I’ve always liked having a few watches, but am not a collector. Having watched more and more reviews, whilst I never got to the point of chasing the next best thing, I did start to consider some quite expensive watches which I just don’t need. I still find the conversations about the market interesting, but don’t tend to look at many reviews anymore.
@@Time_and_time_again thanks for the reply. Don’t get me wrong, it took a little while to realise. I think I saw most bb36 videos before nearly buying about 3 times. Then the Aqua Terra caught my eye. I found a great new price (if you can consider just under £5k great for a watch). But then I stopped and thought, 🤔. Do you find that as you have a watch RU-vid channel, you almost feel obliged to keep buying so you can create new content?
Appreciate the review - I subscribed. I seriously love LOVE Steinhart watches. They are amazing quality...and one need not qualify that with "for the price." They are amazing quality PERIOD. Easily could sell for thousands of dollars rather than hundreds.
Completely agree,I said this on another thread two days ago and be happy to repeat it here....I will take a STEINHART over pretty much anything else under £3000 and that includes Tudor, sinn, and Fortis!
Ahh man another beauty! I prefer the older version you showed a pic of though. Interested to hear how you think that compares to the CW Trident Pro 300 40mm? Which would you have given the choice?
Thanks Justin. Yes I also prefer the older version as it isn’t a pure homage. It’s difficult to compare the steinhart and CW really but given the choice I’d probably go with the CW 👍
Went to Gnomon watches yesterday and left the store with this around my wrist. Beautiful piece. The best part is the all brushed bracelet making it a great tool watch. I tried on the pepsi ceramic but found it to be too flashy especially on the jubilee. The batman looks more subtle. Love it.
@@Time_and_time_again You mean the titanium Ocean 39 batman? Yes I did. It was very lightweight because its titanium. But I didn't like the hands and the lack of applied markers. It looked flat. This one just popped more with the applied markers.
I like this watch and I have been watching this review thinking about pulling the trigger. I also have a small wrist about the same size as you 15.5 cm and I own a CW diver 600m the 28 mm version. I have seen your video with a CW, 300 in the 38 mm version, my question is does the GMT from STEINHART wears significantly bigger meaning as lug to lug? Thanks and keep the up the good videos. 😊
Thanks mate 🙏 I’d say that the 38mm CW wears perfect on our size wrist. The steinhart wears a little bigger but still looks suitable on the liner wrist. Lug to lug does go a little bigger but still doesn’t over hang the span of the wrist. The CW is the perfect size though 👍
I have the Ocean 39 Marine Blue those watches are built like a Tank you get a lot of watch for the money. That watch looks perfect on your wrist Enjoy it in good health. :)
Yes, watches and all about them can get time consuming. I’ve learned so much recently, about these amazing time pieces. You look like Peter Frampton, by the way. 👍🏽
Wear it in good health! How does the quality and finishing compare to the c60 trident pro? I am in between those two along with the certina ds action 38.
Thanks Brent! It’s really difficult to choose one over the other as they’re both great in different ways but if I had to choose it would be the CW as i feel it’s a bit more unique 👍
The reason the dot between the 18 and 20 is closer to the 20, and why the dot between the 20 and 22 is so tight, is because the bezel is a 24 hour clock. So each dot is exactly half way between the hours located on the dial, since the dial is a 12 hour clock. Look at the Rolex Master GMT II as an example.
I agree! I did wear it around a local town centre one day and was sat outside some shops waiting for the wife when a few guys started hanging around and looking a bit menacing. I had the exact thought that you had! 🙈👍
I have the exact same watch but for some reason I can't love it. From a distance it does look gorgeous but upon closer look you notice the dial is completely flat: no applied indices. The bezel insert is very small and stiff. And also the clasp looks and feels like complete garbage. I'm now regreting I didn't buy the San Martin for half the price.
@@climbmaintainnegative. I also owned this exact same watch. It's a silver ring filled with a white color. That's it. I now have a GMT Master 2 BLNR and those indexes are applied (ie they lie noticeably higher) which creates a 3D effect. The Steinhart doesn't which makes the dial look boring and cheap.
