I don't even like Stephen A.'s vitriol towards Kyrie but the situations are just substantively different in a way that implying they should evoke the same reaction doesn't make sense to me. Stephen A. knows those guys in the Brooklyn locker room and is plugged in there. This is way more personal to him which may be why he's acting more passionately about Kyrie, he also may be voicing the grievances of a camp within that organization (like Durant or Harden). I don't think race is the motivator here for the disparity between the two reactions, but maybe I'm wrong. It's possible Stephen A. has just been catering to his primarily white demographic long enough that he lost himself in saying what the algorithm wants to hear. Entirely possible, but I don't see this as a trend for Stephen A., even if what he's doing is unfair right now (which I don't think is true).
