Knicks severely mismanaged Obi.. a friggin talented NYC native.

I hope Obi makes us pay for this next season. I want The Pacers to invest in him unlike our coach. He's got huge potential and it's crazy how more ppl don't see it.

Good for Obi Toppin because he was being wasted away on the Knicks.

They traded Toppin, who was barely given a chance, but not Randle, who stunk it up in the playoffs AGAIN. I never believed the Knicks would go far Thibodeau as the coach, and I believe it less now. He burns out his players, is not a good offensive mind, and he refuses to play young players even when they produce better than the veterans he favors.

I have a feeling the Knicks will regret this decision

Should have DEVELOPE Toppin instead of still gambling to Randle. He already maxed as a player and even REGRESSED in the post seasons. Brunson will carry this team in the playoffs again.

Insane that the Knicks are getting rid of a guy who is pretty good but not dumping Randle, who is awful in the playoffs. Not a Knicks fan although I think Brunson is great.

Good for Obi! He didn’t really see the floor as much as he should’ve. Pacers making some nice moves this free agency. Looking for them to compete for a playoff spot!

I like what the Pacers are building under the radar. I think Haliburton is a great young franchise cornerstone they can be really competitive in a year or 2.

3 years ago, Knicks needed a PG to replace the ineffective Elfrid Payton and the aging Rose, but instead of drafting Haliburton, they went with Toppin. It's ironic on the same day today, one is getting a rookie max extension while the other is traded for basically nothing. Though Quickley has developed nicely and the team is trending the right direction, Knicks really haven't done a good enough job in scouting for years.

I don’t like that he didn’t get an opportunity because he played behind Julius. I always thought Thibs didn’t utilize Obi as a lob threat or back cuts because Thibs offense made him focus more outside in for most plays.

Either the Pistons , Magic or Pacers will make the playoffs. Lots of good moves by them. I really think the Nuggets gave teams the belief they can win through the draft and great FA deals.

I still believe that Obi’s ceiling is borderline all star at the least. His game reminds me of a young Amare Stoudemire.

😞 Thibs and Randle are going to keep the Knicks a 5-8 seed type team forever. Randle was obviously the one with more value on the market. Could have moved him for a big wing and put Obi in the starting lineup. Despite Randle's regression, his being a real power forward who can bang and space the floor while rebounding and getting 20ish points per game is something a lot of teams could use.

I'm not upset they traded Toppin but i am upset what they got for him. Funny I wanted Haliburton in that draft and we drafted Obi. Now they get to play together and form a dynamic duo.

This is good for the Pacers. The front office is being aggressive. Players will want to sign with the pacers next offseason

Honestly I would never thought to see the day that the Knicks would actually trade Toppin this early because of “Julius Randle’s emergence” and yeah I’m being sarcastic , randle absolutely disappeared in the playoffs again and toppin never got a fair chance to flourish in New York :( It’s absolutely ridiculous

Great trade for my Pacers. Not often we make this type of move. Usually we are giving the player for unknown commodities (some turn out great). Kevin Pritchard done well

They didn't get anything for Obi. That's the problem with the deal.

Thibs always pulled OBI every time he had to the hot hand and and let him hog up the minutes whenever he underperformed. Thibs has complete tunnel vision as a coach.

Ugggghhhhh. Now we definitely stuck with Randle. As long we had Toppin there was atleast hope that Thibs would realize his potential and push Randle out. So now we'll sit back and see how they flip/utilize these two picks. Hopefully there's some grand plan. I only have faith in Brunson at this point

The fact is The Knicks were never going to extend Obi Toppin and Obi couldn’t crack the rotation because he couldn’t shoot the 3 consistently and couldn’t play defense or rebound. Immanuel Quickley, Quentin Grimes, RJ Barrett are all around Obi’s age and they play heavy minutes. It just wasn’t going to work.
