Everyone always blames the owner, management and the coach. I feel on a subconscious level the players kind of know this, therefore taking little to no accountability. Then when it doesn’t work out and the players leave, they jump on the anti Knicks narrative and say it was the franchise. Never thought I'll see the day where I say something nice about the Knicks. I'm surprised with the amount of comments saying the Knicks signed 4 Power Forwards. Plenty of comments are saying it's because of their height and body type. I think you need to consider their skillset as well. Morris plays SF for us last year, but suddenly he's a PF this year? From some of the Knicks game I've watched, they used him more like a SF with some minutes at PF. It's similar to Jae Crowder, Robert Covington, and Joe Ingles. Those players can all play PF, but their skillset is suited more for SF if you're not playing small ball. His brother Markieff would be more suited as a PF than Marcus. Gibson has been playing Center for awhile now and his skillset is more suited for that in the modern NBA. Portis has been used at the Center position towards the end of tenure with the Bulls (Mirotic was playing PF), during his time with the Wizards (occasionally he would play PF depending on the rotation), and now with the Knicks. He's been the primary Center off the bench for the Knicks because his skillset allows him to do decently well there. He can score, rebound, and defend decently. In the older NBA he would be a PF, but the new NBA requires him to be an agile Center that can occasionally stretch the floor. Gibson hasn't been playing until the Mavs game and putting Randle at PF is just asking to lose the game. Draymond Green was listed at SF when he enter the league, but his skillset obviously makes him a PF/C. It's like listing Magic at SF/PF due to his size when he's obviously a PG. Magic could play those other positions as well, but you need to put him at PG to maximize his abilities. Same with Luka and Simmons at PG on offense.

Here's my take: I feel the same today as I did about David Fizdale when he was hired last year: He's a solid coach, maybe not a Championship Coach, but definitely a Playoff Contending coach. Now, having said that, let me add this: I thought at the beginning of the season last year that the KNICKS would be a competitive enough team in Fiz's first year enough to be relative until KP came back to play in'19-'20. By the end of the '18-'19 season with KP gone and the KNICKS having finished with the worst record in the NBA, since they were losing on purpose in order to get a great chance for picking #1 in the NBA Lottery; I was 100% convinced that David Fizdale WILL be relieved of his Head coaching duties even if the KNICKS make the playoffs this season. Why? Because he was hired to be a "Lame Duck" coach or "Fall Guy" coach. Fiz was/is just the bridge or his purpose is for transitioning from the old regime to the new and improved KNICKS. Fiz was NEVER supposed to turn the KNICKS into a Championship Contender. So, even though I don't think it would be good for him to get fired, at least not before the season ends, I'm not sure he will make it to the end of the season. If we fans want to see REAL change: 1) Steve Mills would have to be removed from his duties as President or 2) James Dolan would have to sell the team--doubt that will happen or 3) Us fans will have to stop spending money on our KNICKS until something truly real and hopeful happens for us Right now, it looks like 1, 2 and 3 are not going to happen anytime soon.
