My first year on corticosteroids (cortisone acetate and hydrocortisone) I gained 100 pounds! Doctor really got onto me. Now have been on them 20+ years. No one had told me that they cause you to starve! So, I eased back on the food. Stopped eating as many sweets. Now on Predisone. I have a number of other illnesses, so I've never figured out what is being cause by which illness and/or medication. I am bi-polar, with depression, and diagnosed with PTSD, so who knows what is irritating me and/or making me rage, etc. You are really on top of your illness, and that helps so many others. I really appreciate your videos. My major illnesses are bi-polar and Addison's Disease.
Surprisingly I've never had negative side effects from pred, other than weight gain and moon face. I am very thankful, and feel so bad for people who go through the awful experiences it can cause.

I made a mistake of taking steroids in year 2015, thank God the duration was not long but still it managed to make my face and head large and with those changes I have been suffering from depression, low self esteem and low self confidence. I have been in a struggle to get back to normal. but I lacked focus and clarity because I kept panicking along the way. today I meditated with miracle frequency and later found your video then I exercised after a long time and I feel u have given me a direction and hope and I will get back to normal again with patience and persistence. loads of love 😄
Pred was an absolute nightmare for me. Every side effect they listed I got. But the worst has to be the mental side effects: anger, violent thoughts, insomnia, hallucinations, etc. The only was I was able to cope was to tell everyone around me to simply leave me be until things passed. I couldn't risk doing something I'd regret because I was out of control. Thankfully, I was taken off it within two months, but the physical side effects lasted well over a year.

What the heck! RU-vid should totally be letting you do longer videos. We have around the same amount of subscribers and I have been able to do long vids for years. I will have to look into this because I feel like there has to be a way.
I was allowed to do 10 minute videos after I had uploaded a certain amount of videos, seeing as my subscribers is only 65. I assume it's the same for 20 min videos because I have some videos going over 20 minutes too.

i 'm at the same possition right now wirh steroids and surgery but my doctor said that it's ok to keep taking them because i still have one month in front of me. I think he is afraid for blood bleeding. But believe me i feel your problems.
Hi, Laura! I'm sure like myself, many viewers were introduced to you after you appeared on Tosh. I loved that segment. I was intrigued because I did a stint in home healthcare for the developmentally disabled. One of my guys had a colostomy bag, so I got really good at cleaning the stoma and changing the bags--almost like the way a Nascar Pit Crew would change a tire! (Ok, maybe not that good). Your segment started off about a girl and her popular ostomy videos, but very quickly all I saw was just a nice, gorgeous girl with a kickass attitude--just a wonderfully pleasant disposition considering what you are dealing with--all with a smile and hilarious sense of humor to match. Anyways, I'm commenting on this because I have taken Prednisone before. I was on it after being hospitalized for bad asthma attacks. Laura, please know I'm not comparing my asthma to your condition. I was lucky that I was only on it for a couple months at a time; I knew exactly when I'd get to start tapering off of it. Excuse my language, but Prednisone is some awful,awful shit. I feel for anyone who has to be on it long term. I'll do all that I can to avoid ever being prescribed it again. My side effects: 1. Voracious appetite: I ate like a ravenous beast. It's like I had to just tell myself I've eaten enough and stop eating even though I still felt hungry. I felt like eating all the time. Even after eating 3 full plates in the cafeteria. 2. Weight Gain 3. Swollen Face: It was sudden. Overnight. I remember my roommate looking at me all scared and was like "WTF is wrong with your face, dude? You look weird!" My face looked like I had been stung multiple times by hornets and was having an allergic reaction. 4. Trouble sleeping. Even when I did fall asleep, I had vivid, unpleasant dreams. Didn't really get good sleep. I felt like I was always halfway between consciousness and wakefulness which factors into: 5. Agitation, mood swings--feeling like a pissed off zombie throughout the entire day. 6. Black clay-like bowel movements and very frequent, but too small bowel movements that were hard to clean up after. My sport? Extreme Over-wiping. Got to the point where it was very painful to wipe. I dreaded going to the bathroom. The finest toilet 2-ply, rippled toilet paper felt like sand paper. I had a serious case of Baboon Ass! Sitting in class with a burning, raw, itchy butthole was pure torture! I don't understand why bidets aren't common in the U.S. I sooo want one now! 7. Horrific odorous gas and lots of it. My roommate had to leave and study in the group area because the smell was making him nauseous! My flatulence during that time period has become legendary. 8. Constipation and all the icky, bloated, feelings that come with it You're right. All this went away after getting off Prednisone. Sorry for the long post. Hi, İ just watched your how to change an ostomy bag and İ saw you use saline to clean the spillings. That.s awesome😆 İ know you mentioned your skin is sensitive but would you consider trying some kind of antiseptic solution? Saline is really just 0.9% salt water. İt doesn.t help with bacteria and stuff. You.re doing a great job. You.re really brave and strong. Keep it up!!
I have a colostomy or ileostomy and a indwelling catheter. I always knew some others had things worse than I do, including my being on dialysis the last few months, so when I think about others, what's different about me, really isn't so bad!
I have been taking steroids the last 4-5 years almost all the time. I became cortisone depended, was trying biological therapies, azatheprine, so I'll be able to get away from steroids but with no luck, Remicade worked for 5-6 months and then bye bye. Before my Ileostomy j was taking 48mg of Medrol for many many weeks, and oh man, it was freaking bad. It was a nightmare, I completely lost my state of mind, while oh shot have to deal with obligations and real life daily. I had all the side effects you referred to. All of them. While I was in my biggest doses, I was waking up screaming from joint pain crying and waiting for pain killer drugs to started working . So after 7 years with UC, I had my Ileostomy before 2 months. It has already saved me. Bb fucking cortisone.
Are you sure you were taking the right dose? Losing hair sounds nuts! I've been on 2 cycles just by now and I didnt have any bad side effects... just some pimples on my back
Roid rage, oh yes it is a real thing. I couldn't excersise due to a severe flare (UC). I just laid around really really angry and then i would be fine for awhile. A vicious cycle. The worst thing about Pred. I lost all of the hair on my legs and i'm a pretty hairy guy. So..hair everywhere except my legs and it's summer in Ohio. After 8 months I am finally tapered down to 5 mg. (from 60) I am left with 50 extra pounds, 4 chins and hairless legs. THe Pred did nothing for my symptoms. Remicade is what i needed all along. After the first treatment i was fine and i have had 4 since. I hope it lasts.
I take it you’re talking about prednisone. I never ever want to take that again. My heart rate was out of control as was my blood pressure! Never again ever!
Thank you for the video. I'm suffering from long haul covid and my doctor wants to put me on steroids. I'm really thinking about this now because of your video. I'm not sure I want to go through all of that. I've been sick for 6 month now and my immune system is all out of whack so I get fevers all the time and flu symptoms. I'm not sure if this is the route I want to take. Thanks again for the video. I knew nothing about steroids.
Prednisone made me fat. I’ve been off of it for a few years now but was on them for 20 years. I’ve not been able to put on muscle or loose the fat even being off them.

Very brave of you for being honest. When young, most people make choices they later regret because of the serious concequences they never thought about. That is being young; thinking you can do things and it will be allright . I have made choices myself I seriously regretted so throwing rocks to another person for doing the same would be hypocritical. Hi Ann, great question! If you head to my channel, you can find "confidence with an ostomy" or "telling people about your ostomy." That may help! The best advice I can give you is to change the way others see your ostomy. Help them see it as the lifesaving procedure and something to be grateful for! You've been through so much, remember that and realize what a bad ass you are for getting through it and getting out of bed everyday and living your life!

If you gained the wrong weight while doing a cycle then you did something wrong with your food intake. If you diet correctly and take small amounts of let's say anavar.. the weight will fall off you even if you don't work out 5 days a week.. I don't recommend any of that of course. Just saying you don't need it girl.
The steroids she is using are medical steroids, not the anabolic ones used for muscle gain and exercising. The medical ones (corticosteroids) are used to treat inflammation in Inflammatory Bowel Desease or IBD. It is a very extense topic and is extremely normal for people to be confused and mix them up as those kind of deseases (IBD) don't get a lot of attention, but you can always do a little research to have a better understanding. Over pumping large amounts steroids amounts you was jack to the ruff. If continue problably die from it. Such tiny girl you are should may be do one every two week one 1cc. Streroids was for medical purpose . People abuse it.

If you really want to do steroids that's your own decision. However, doing steroids at 16 is a very VERY bad idea. You're still growing and your endocrine system is figuring itself out. If you really want to do steroids, wait until you've trained naturally for at least 10 years so you've built a good base and your bodies endocrine system will be more stable. If you take steroids this young you have a much higher chance of destroying your natural hormone balance for the rest of your life.
Monika Monia P they're not anabolic steroids like you hear about for body builders. This is medical steroids to decrease inflammation for people with autoimmune diseases. They are life saving medication, but have some not-so-fun side effects
I hope you weren't doing those anabolic steroids that make you go crazy and scream so loud like TheRage191. Thinking that you were be an Alpha person. Those roids that would do a lot of extreme bodybuilding.
I don't advocate drug use but some hormones can benefit some women. The woman in the video is very pretty. If she worked out, it would have been beneficial. Just don't abuse it. It too bad she had to take so many drugs.

If a person is hooked big time, it will show... even if you’re able to get out of it,,, it will show something in your physical feature. Anabolic steroids and corticosteroids are NOT THE SAME. The kind she is using (corticosteoids) is Prednisone, it is used to take down or control the inflammation in IBD, google it so you can have a better understanding.
