Steve Miller was smart. He made a shit-ton of money, yet even in the 70s you couldn't have picked him out of a lineup. He kept a low profile and kept cashing the checks.

A vastly underrated guitarist and singer, Steve Miller can keep up with anyone on the stage. And he's a pretty good songwriter too. Understatement.

The Steve Miller Band is the moist underrated band of the 70's (along with The Guess Who). They had fabulous harmonies and touching lyrics, yet slipped under names like aerosmith and Jefferson Starship (previously, Airplane), ACDC was just coming on the stage and the music industry exploded into new subgenres. Tragic...I was listening to this album yesterday.

Growing up in the 70’s Steve Miller was a big part of the music track. Jungle Love, Fly Like an Eagle are a couple of my favorites.

Wise choice and a hell of a talented man... Space Cowboy is another one of his songs. Listen to the early releases of Fly Like an Eagle available here not the studio version. there are atleast two out there if you wanna hear crazy amazing bass. Texas born, he did most of his recording in Marin County north of San Francisco and was around all the amazing artists based there in the 60's and 70's. He really let the Rock Hall have it when he was inducted about how disgusted he was that real true rockers were being overlooked. Im sure you can find a clip of that on you tube as well. Keep rockin' you are awesome

I have been lucky to see them 3 times. They are Fantastic live. This came out before my time....but I spent an entire year of high school listening to Steve Miller band. 💚l e g e n d s💚. The rabbit hole is deep.....and amazing.

The entire greatest hits album is worth a listen. It's not deep or groundbreaking, it's just great fun music you wanna listen when you're relaxing with friends.

The stake is one of my all-time favorites but of course anything except abracadabra that song broke my heart lol. But I would say his style is all over the place jungle love and then take the money and run and then fly like an eagle and then the stake

Listen to "Angel" by Shaggy. He samples the music from this song, but speeds it up a bit. He also takes the melody from Juice Newton's, "Angel of the Morning" for the chorus. They fit perfect. That's probably where you heard this rhythm before.
