My son was attacked by 6 men. He suffered a brain injury and PTSD. He started listening to Journey who I always play. Wheel in the sky is his favourite. We watched the documentary (VH1) My son said "Mum has Steve Perry ever had PTSD?" I said I had no idea and why did he ask. He said "because I can see something in his eyes when he talks about not feeling like he was part of Journey. I see that look in my own eyes" Steve your music gets people through broken hearts, grief and it has the power to lift people's spirit. What I didn't think ANYTHING could do, is touch and connect with a 15 year old who's been lost and isolated whilst the world goes on around him. Thank you from a Mother who now has some hope

Traces to me seems to be a concept album that is much like the feel of a Progressive Rock Album. Its complete in feelings and thoughts. Its like Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. This isn't Journey it has hints or it but its more complete than any previous Journey albums.

The goodness this dude has given the world is in a track called angel eyes, good grief it's amazing, as is October in New York. The last tune? A dry, almost whispering vocal? And these weren't on the record? These fifteen songs are the greatest thing ever. You need to get them all. And I hope he releases angel eyes, it makes the world a happier place. And I was already completely happy with the record.... Then there's five more tunes. Amazing....

OMG, just remembered the Capitol Centre in DC with Journey and Boston. Boston was a really good band but Journey was just incredible with Neal Schon playing amazing guitar and Steve Perry singing his heart out. Listening to Steve today is nothing less than a blessing. This guy was born to sing and make great music. Thank God he is back!!!

Waited with baited breath since that mysterious message a few months ago, and this doesn't disappoint. This must have been really difficult to make. Steve always had one of the most soulful and heartfelt voices in music, but knowing that these are no made-up stories, that he is fulfilling the promise he made (and then some); it just makes these tunes so powerful. Must say, In The Rain brought a tear. Welcome back Mr Perry - and thank you. A great album.

Traces is a compilation of beautiful new songs, and I am excited to see where his renewed passion for music will take him next. It’s a new Steve Perry and he still has that magical touch.

Traces is a Complex, Deeply personal and Old School, Poetic songwriting/musical composition Master Class. It takes a "Genuine" Artist like Perry to be a Van Gogh in expressing his emotions through his lyrics, his delivery of a vocal and his collaborative concepts with co-writers/musicians. Both Visually per Album Art and the visuals one gains from listening to the lyrics through their headphones, Traces takes us all on a Journey with Perry of his life and times. Steve Perry's voice has matured with age, who's voice hasn't, it is a natural thing. Let's remember that and appreciate that he's back making music. I remember way back when Journey were touring behind Escape album, they came to Ottawa, Canada during the summer to play a show at Lansdowne park stadium. They had two bands opening the show, one was Billy Squier and the other a Canadian band called Toronto. After both opening acts did their sets it started to rain immensely and wouldn't let up. As it was getting late I thought Journey would have to be cancelled after waiting a long time for rain to end. We left and started driving home. We turn on the radio and they announce that Journey was finally able to start their set. So I never got to see Steve Perry perfom in his prime when Journey was on top of the world. I'll never forget that mistake we made to leave. I hope Steve Perry decides one day to tour again. If he does, I will be the first to buy tickets if he comes to town, or Toronto, or Montreal. Hint hint.
