When Stevie died, I wasn't really into his music. I remembered them saying that Eric Clapton may have been on the helicopter and I was very upset about that. My, how things have changed. Today August 27th 31 years ago just minutes after 12 a.m. the Angels escorted Steven into the presence of almighty God. He was welcomed home by the author of love. Steven was always reaching for the Creator. The love of God flowed through him so effortlessly. We loved his music but we were attracted to him for the supernatural love he displayed. He's more alive now than he ever was on planet Earth. Steven was very special and we will always miss him.💖🙏

This has to be one of the greatest songs of all time. It gives me chills everytime I hear it. Stevie's emotions are so close the the surface, not like most of us, and he doesn't mind sharing them. I was to young so I never had a real childhood, just practice everyday. Then, I switched over to modeling just to make enough money to get out of my house and get my own place, but that was not for me either, I hated it. So, that's when I met Joe Satriani, who took me under his wing, God I could never thank him enough. I have a CD in the work's .

Actually, Stevie's last performance was at Alpine Valley, WI. I wish I could say I was there, but I was over in Saudi Arabia. My sister was at that show, though. To this day, it still feels like a huge loss to the world.

Best guitar solo that ever been played.

I cried the day he died. I had never been able to express myself artistically. I had been playing a bass guitar that I borrowed from a friend. No amp. I laid my head on the body and listened for the right resonation. The first song that I ever played note for note, was Tin Pan Alley. I not only listened to Stevie, Tommy, Chris and Reese, I lived what they sang about. I hurt, all of the time, for everybody, when we didn't have much ourselves. This song lets my soul out when they come back from the talk. With you Stevie, died several generations of music that was n the cusp of being born. You and your bandmates, transformed emotion into music right before my eyes. I saw color in notes and felt emotion through sound. Life Without You. Thank you all, for a long look in the mirror.

I was there too.......I remember Slow Hand walking out and said "this is for you Stevie Ray and broke out with Sunshine of my Love......Awesome concert.....He did jam non stop for hours......SRV was one of the best ever.

Chose my wedding date (8/28) on purpose. Divorce date (10/6) was by Universe. Now my 21 year old son is a SRV devotee. The lines in this song " Angels have waited for so long...now they have their way... take your place" have hit me so hard for so many years. Know it was written for someone else, but he did this performance for himself.

That was an key element in Stevie's approach, even way back before his fame, and when he was still battling his addictions. There's no doubt that he lives on. I sure do miss him though. Funny I grew up way too fast as well, Mom passed when I was super young and Dad well, I'm not going there, but I hit the streets running at15, and I'm still here after 31 years , yep 46 here, and I've seen Joe everytime he comes to Orlando and plays at the house of blues, My youngest Daughters first ever concert experiance was Joe at the House of blues, all the guys autographed her t-shirt for her and Joe gave her a "G" Pick which I thought was just awesome, she's now 21 and away at school.
