Still Game - OOT - S03E05 - REACTION!

Eric has the underrated lines😂 The delivery of “am needin a pish” always gets me.

I love Still Game's ability to weave in heartfelt moments amongst the humour. There aren't many TV shows that shine a light on what it's like to grow old in such a sensitive and heart-warming way. (And I guess a hermit's a hermit. It makes sense that it doesn't make sense to people who aren't hermits...) Another thing I like about Still Game is that, although it might not be the most fantastic, knock-your-socks-off comedy that there has ever been, it really gives you a good idea of what it was like to live in the Glasgow area of Scotland in the 90's. So many little nuances in the show and ways of saying things that bring back memories of me spending time with my grandparents down that neck of the woods.

Series 5 and 6 are beyond gold

Archie, the ultimate introvert. Few hours of going out in public then 25 years to recharge.

Aw I love Slyvester McCoy. My doctor as a kid and a true inspiration in my adulthood

the microwave, fire in the flat and the mouse story were the best bits of this episode to me

Greetings from Paisley, Scotland. Another good episode. I loved the Fred Astaire improv.. Haud oan the noo, yer buildings oan fire!!.. But as has been stated a few times, some people dislike later series' (each to their own) but please don't let that put you off. You've still to find out how Winston loses his leg and make sure you watch the Christmas specials in order they were made (for Chronological & pishin' yer self reasons) and you've already highlited the time lapses in making later episodes. it's well worth it in my opinion. 10 years to wait, the build up was crazy. It was always never going to be as good. But for the haters of the later seasons "get it right roon ye!" Was still way funnier than anything else on the telly.

Bit of trivia: Sylvester McCoy (Archie) played Radaghast The Brown in the Hobbit movies.

Before season 7 after their long break, they did live shows at the Hydro Arena in Glasgow. A video of one of the performances is on RU-vid.

Yeah the first 3 series all had Scottish slang for the titles, Oot, Doacters, Cairds etc, the rest all have normal English spellings and they also dumb down on using Scottish words so those overseas could understand more

Doesn't make the top 10 for me but still a good story and worthy episode. "Winston, that was John Logie baird, he says you're a arsehole" is the best joke for me. Plenty great stuff still to come. I'm jealous that you're just seeing it for the first time.

I was never very impressed with this episode but still watched and laughed. Yeah he saved all his social security money as he had food delivered. I love it all the way through really. It did change and make up and cameras are different later on but it's not complete without the whole series. Looking forward to seeing more bro!! Cheers pal
