After having owned a BMW 5 E60 for 2 years and a BMW 5 G30 for 4 years (which I crashed last september) I bought a 2018 Mazda 6. Best car I ever owned! (I've had 2 BMW 5, 2 Saab 93, a Nissan Primera and a Nissan Sunny). Forget BMW, way too expensive and absolutely not worth the money. My Mazda is much more fun to drive. BMW 5 has a massive understeer problem. The steering in the Mazda 6 is razor sharp! No understeer, no oversteer... Superb car! I look forward to the next Mazda 6 generation.
I have the 2018 turbo signature and I love it. I had two issues one was airbag light issue and the other was my transmission. Luckily I had warranty it covered it all. I currently have 130000km(80000miles) on it. Mazda even offered to buy it back it for 26kCAD but
mazda 6 only needs to change the multimedia infotainment for something much more recent and technological in order for it to stay competitive in the market for the next 10 years
It's amazing that this is classed as a "medium" sized car as it's very long. Reminds me of the Jaguar looking 929 from the early 90's, particularly in profile and the rear end. The 6 is a lovely car but too big for me. Parking it would be a chore.
There are bigger sedans, but the 6 is actually not very wide - only a bit wider than the 3. I had the same thought about its Jag looks too. Thanks for watching!
As a current MX5 owner I'm eyeing one of these up when I eventually (and sadly) have to get something more practical. Seems like its got a bit of that Mazda spirit and they're not expensive to buy used in the UK either
I just bought the wagon version of the exact same car, i bought a 2022 2nd hand with 6000km, it was $15k cheaper then a brand new one, absolute love it, she is a smooth and refine vehicle and the 2.5T is plenty for everyday driving, its nothing spectacular but its more then enough. As for the infotainment system, it is absolute trash, very old. I bought a wireless dongle from amazon and it now has wireless andriod auto. works well.
Sounds like you got a good bargain! Yes the infotainment is terrible. Mazda do far better systems in their newer cars. A shame they haven’t included it in the current 6. Thanks for watching!
I have a 2019 very basic GS model with only 35,000 kms in 2024 on it as I work from home. It is my third Mazda 6 and to this day, I cannot belive how well this car runs and feels. Looks are superb and I would by a new one if they still made those.
Ive got a 2023 GT wagon. Proving to be a really good fit living in a regional area, good comfy cruiser with lazy power for occasional rapid overtakes on 2 lane country roads. Don’t have to strategise every overtake like a military operation. Reminiscent of the falcon or commodore of yesteryear. The direct injection and turbo combo might not be so good for regular short city driving though i.e. fear of carbon deposits in the inlet tract. I’m hoping frequent oil changes, mechanical sympathy and regular long running will keep things good for at least a decade to 15 yrs. BTW you can turn all the electronic crap off, and permanently disconnecting the i-stop feature was super easy. I’ve almost got it back to 90’s spec!
Great to her you’re enjoying it. The 6 is and always has been a great car. Hopefully Mazda will come up with a good replacement for it. Thanks for watching!
Last year in 2023, I traded a 2020 Nissan Frontier 4X4 SV Crew Cab pickup truck. It was lifted and had bigger knobby tires and all. It was fun, Ive had many trucks, and cars. No SUV's! Ever! Never will. Thats the misses' vehicle. But, trucks do have their own set of social issues: harder to park, gas hogs, everyone wants you to help them move, etc... Anyway, one day Im driving down the road in the truck and spot this beautiful 2021 Mazda6 Signature in Soul Crystal Red w/ parchment leather. 2021 was the last year for this car in USA. I pulled into the car lot, and the closer I got to it the more I knew the wife is gonna be pissed. Surprisingly the monthly payment is only $12 more than the Nissan was, and it has better fuel economy. That was my argument when I arrived home with it. She was still pissed. Oh well, she'll get over it, and Im commuting in style and comfort. Yay me!
Love that! I was obsessed with the Mazda6 when it first came out and my wife got one as a company car for a couple of years and it was one of the best we’ve ever owned. Still a great car but could do with an update. Thanks for watching!
I don't think they're going to be here much longer either, although I hear that there is a new hybrid or electric model being developed. Hopefully it will be just as good! Thanks for watching.
Hey mate thanks ... I've had a wagon for just under 12 months and found it OK but trading it on a new Kona mainly found it clunky in transmission and motor always appears to be doing to much at the same time probably being too mad silly carbon happy.
Mazda6 to Kona? That's some serious downsizing... Can't say I noticed any transmission issues. As I said in the video I thought it was a very smooth and refined car to drive. Thanks for watching!
Can you please share what your fuel consumption was like and is this car more fun to drive than the Honda Civic Hybrid just in terms of which car comes out better for overall enjoyment?
My fuel consumption was a bit higher than the official number. Probably around 9 litres/100km. The Civic is dynamically a bit better, but it is also smaller and more efficient. Plus the tech is more up to date. Thanks for watching!
@@4wheelsandaseatI test drove both cars last week and found the Civic Hybrid better to drive as well. Was very impressed with the fuel consumption on the civic hybrid.
The civic is essentially one size smaller than the Mazda 6, but slightly bigger than Mazda 3. Fuel consumption of hybrid definitely trumps that of NA/turbo power trains
They need to really really put effort in making a timeless design for this car to stand out. Theres nothing really unique or timeless about it just another vehicle that blends but nothing else
They’re sleak and don’t look like any other car, but they are boring I own a 2018 touring and even though it’s not a preforming vehicle it’s still underwhelming for just a regular daily.
@@4wheelsandaseat I prefer the Mazda 6 , don't like hybrids because years down the line , if you keep the car , the batteries need replacing. So better for me over a Camry, great review by the way
