Stock To Spaded - F9F-5 Panther - Should You Buy/Spade It? A Surprising Hero [War Thunder] 

What really impresses me is that @Tankesntein plays this plane like is really a Air to Air combat fighter, not a supporting fighter-bomber/multirole jet, that is somewhat capable to some extent of performing AA and AG roles, but also do not excel in any of these roles to be a true capable frontline multirole platform, kind of forcing players, more often than not, to take supporting role in the the team. Heck in his way back to the base, he was over 950km/h, even in Arcade it is hard to coax this speed from this plane other than on dives and if don't hit the air breaks soon after toure on th Mach 0.75-0.78 the wings will rip off just a few seconds later. I ARB I could reach these speeds in level flight only after getting compressor, engines, and either airframe or wing repair, even so, with the plane without any external weapons load, It takes about the time to go from the airfield to the further enemy bases to go past 850km/h on level flight alone, without zoom climb and dive to get speed, which it Wil alsol loose very fest if the turn more than once or twice, and sometimes even in level flight it will loose the speed from a dive faster than I would like. You're a hell of player @Tankenstein because this plane, while it isn't bad enough to suck, it also isn't good enough to be good either, it is lost on a muddy middle ground of performance where you supposedly can do everything but not very well or very bad, which defeats any advantage it might have on anything other than a severe downtier. But more often the not, this plane, actualy most rank 5 and 6 jets lately, get up-tiered most of the time how the reck you will kill a afterburning, supersonic or transonic, missile carrying lane with the F9F-5 Panther(BR 8.3), the F-84F (BR 8.3), the F-86F (BR 9.0), and even the F9F-8 Cougar (BR 8.3), in the case of the Cougar it can carry AIM-9Bs, but they don't do you any good, because, most of the time, you're 10-30% slower, so you could not get in position to use the AIM-9Bs, other than by pure dumb luck or extreme stupidity on the other player's part, all other cited jets are only armed to canons or machine guns for air to air, don't have countermeasures to deal with their pesky Missiles, and even when they can engage, the up-tiered jets on the match, they accelerate so much faster than you or go supersonic, that if they are aware of you, they can completely control when they will disengage and you have a hard time using those wirdingky nerfed cannons and MGs of this first generation jets that are at weirdingly high BRs for what they are capable of delivering. Another case, is the F-104s, feels great when you get it, but they are one pony tricks that require tactics very hard to counter, because lately, they would be mostly be on up-tieted matches, and even as fast as it is, a Sparrow and it's rquivalents will reach and rip it apart, heck even a Sidewinder close enough will hit it without problems, and on uptiers most can get close enough of the F-104s. I think Gaijin, should limit planes like th F9F, higher F-86Fs or F-84F/Gs to their own level, because even an average A-4 plauer could whipe the floor with them. If you get the Swifts, Lightnings, etc., it becomes just baby seal clubbing the first generation jets, that are slower, have lesser cannons, no missiles and no countermeasures against the missiles that they will be on the receiving end.

Assisting for a hit or a non debilitating CRIT is one thing. But killing an engine, setting on fire or breaking off a part of a wing/tail should be considered a debilitating critical hit. And for as long as someone is under the effects of one(until they repair/put the fire out) if someone else lands a kill shot it should be an assist for him, and a kill for the one who dealt the big CRIT. So many times people steal burning planes, or ones that are in a flat spin, or with their Engine dead and too far away from the airfield. Frankly I'd rather have an enemy damaged like that go back to base and repair. It's more fun for me bc I get to fight them again, and it's more fun for him bc he survived an encounter and crawled back to base on his last breath. Also dogshit players who steal deliberately would grind slower and would not be able to afford repair costs. It would be a win for everybody. And landing a kill shot would still be incentivised because it's still an assist.

Nice of them to make the repair cost ridiculous so you really can’t play it as an average player. Plus the SL economy is so bad you still can’t earn SL at a decent rate.

Before I've even started the gameplay of this video, I'm already considering backtracking to get it purely for that skin. It's the coolest I've seen in game so far, even beating out that new blue camo for the F-5E I got a week ago or so.

One thing I’ve noticed with us tech tree is that airbelts from the us are bad, ground belts from my experience are usually more effective even vs air

yay my second favourite jet fighter. favourite is the F9F-8 COUGAR.

For almost all US cannons (AN/M2, AN/M3, M3, Vulcan etc), the air targets belt sucks. The HE shells often just do no damage. It's better to run AP belts even against air targets.

Tank, why can you simulate the combat and missions of the famous fighter pilots who flew him. Like the first man on the Comm. Neil Armstrong, and baseball 'Great Speldid Spiltor Ted Williams" during the 1950s Korean War. Another Marvel jet fighter, the SabreJet, with the second man on the moon, Brig-Gen Adrin 'Buzz Aldrin; in the Korean War, you research their missions and simulate them in your graphic competition, which is fanstanic by the way.
