Got this on video.still watch from time.memories.it was similar to where I grew up in birmingham England.biker culture .gangs etc.i would be happy to revisit those days compared to what we have today .
Yeah, yer not wrong Helen... even the more naked personal aggression was somehow less corrupt... and it was more individually directed. Complaint and deceit have just become a way of hiding aggression behind a facade of righteousness... self-righteousness at that. And it's directed against an imaginary, more nebulous "enemy" ...the other, the evil, the (insert name of group X here) I wish I could move back to Australia, I don't like this weird place Australia has become near as much. And yet we still seem better off than the rest of the Anglo-sphere from where I'm standing. A punch in the face is less cowardly, more honourable and less lethal than a stab in the back. Bugga me, it's actually more bloody compassionate...
I cannot wait to see the whole movie, I've been a HUGE MAD MAX FAN since i was 6yo, I was born in '74 & had never heard of this till TOECUTTER & IMMORTAN JOE passed a few weeks back. I'll find a full version eventually to add to my Max movie collection.
And not a tatt in sight, thought just struck me ,been watching and listening to this since stone first happened and I saw the movie Must be getting old
i have the original 25th anniversary RUN AND RAGE poster of stone LIVE AND RIDE its 43 years old and in immaculate condition i understand it is the only one in existance
The 25th anniversary run was in 1998. I was on the Olympic Dam Expansion Project as a fitter at the time and I was so sad to miss that run. That's only 24 or so years ago but yeah.... cool thing to have, treasure it mate!
@@givejamesacall oh man my bad. I was a bit drunk. It's been a while since I've watched the movie. Sandy did an incredible job with that film. I lived in Poland recently for a few years and we had a weekly Bmovie night called bloody Monday. The Stone screening was a night to remember. Definitely has some big European fans now
@@vars666 haha all good 🍻 but yeah it definitely is a great aussie movie that unfortunately got pushed into the corner. My mother is also in the movie (no she didn't do the beach scene hahah)
@@givejamesacall from memory. Channel 9 had alot to do with that. I think they had rights to it to screen it but cut out the ending. Which makes no sense at all
This is a prequel to Mad Max (The Road Warrior) and the introduction of The Toecutter. Did you know the actor that played the Toecutter later played Immortan Joe in Fury Road? The bikes are Kawasaki Z1s (900+cc). Pretty quick bit of kit back in the day.
It saddens me to see our mutual countries taken over by 'woke' pundits. Australia always fascinated me because as an American we have (had) so much in common like being colonized by outcasts and criminals that gave us a bit of a renegade streak. We love our cars and motorcycles and the countless ways of modifying them. We both have huge stretches of open country that brought on a sense of self-reliance born out of necessity. Much love from 'Murica!
Don't let them wokies take over your country man! I still hope for Murica as the last bastion for anti-establishment folks with good common sense. NZ, Aussie, Canada, mmmm not really feel confident about them.
It’s amazing how much Sandy Harbutt changed his appearance from 1970 TV series The Longarm, playing a short haired semi groovy young cop, to a long haired bikie. He looks a lot shorter too, maybe that’s what’s confusing me the most, he seriously looks to have lost three inches in height from 1970 to 1974
One of my mates reckons he had to knock back a job as a postie because club rules stipulated he ride a Harley or a Triumph with his colors on at all times, while riding, and it wouldn't be a good look to have the mail delivered in such a way! 🤣🤣
That building in the background at the start of this video looks really similar to the one in Mad Max, the one in the Town where the guy gets thrown through the screen door by a couple of the members of the Toe Cutter Biker Gang.
@@lordchickenhawkMan that's cool to know, that's why this scene feels so real its was awesome that they were in the film sort of like "Blood In Blood Out" it was filmed in a real prison and most of the the cast were prisoners. I can't believe I went so long without ever hearing about this film my last name is Stone and I was born in 1974 so I felt a connection to it and I loved it makes me feel like I'm watching a prequel to MAD MAX. Thanks for the knowledge that's awesome.
1:33 The guy that says the line "Hey Man where did you get that?" I think that's the same guy that played the Civilized Bushman in Crocodile Dundee, the one who jokes about the other guy wanting to know if they were allowed to eat these men?
Mate... watch some more movies from that period. Seriously, it's totally BB & AB (Before Bruce and Anno Brucei... pronounced "anne-oh-brew-sea-eye", meaning "in the Year Of Our Bruce" ) Lee saved the West from weak arsed fight scenes in movies. At the time this clip was pretty hard core, real blood was shed....actually, that's still pretty extreme... Yeah... it's camp AF these days. But I recon it's only thanks to Bruce Lee we don't have mainstream snuff movies... Australia was just a wee bit slow in catching that wave...

@@CYBERJAM01-_- it’s not intended to be a prequel, different characters just several of the same actors. But the bikers who helped played the gang in Mad Max got involved because they’d seen Stone and really admired Hugh Keays-Byrne’s work in it.
