For anyone reading, find out where the salt comes from, if it's from evaporated sea water it has micro-plastics 100%, if it's cave salt, or from a place like himalayan salt then it's fine.

It’s extreme, look at the acreage devoted to grain oil protection they pump into the cows and pigs etc that then get eaten by humans. Effectively pumping people full of inflammatory pesticide and herbicide laden GMO oils with a side of high fructose corn syrup and some artificial flavors and preservatives and people wonder why the health care industry is over run with sick people. Much of this stuff should be banned like it is in Europe.

Why don't you think for yourself instead of hanging on every word of Dr. Berg of wondering if it's "Bobby approved"? The obvious answer here between the two, is that Dr. Berg is more correct about the overall health value of Celtic salt. Just be ause Bobby has it "approved" does NOT mean it doesn't have detrimental effects from microplastics. That's not at all something he even took into account or addressed in this video. However, while it would probably be smart to stay away from Celtic salt when you have alternatives like Himalayan salt, the minor amount of plastic in you're Celtic salt is not something worth throwing it out and not using it when you already have it. So yes. Use it. But also, think for yourself. Dr. Berg is more correct on this one. Bobby is also right that Celtic is better then refined salt. But he just didn't factor in the microplastics issue.

Gourmet salts may, or in some cases do, contain essential minerals, but they're in tiny amounts. To even get close to the recommended daily intake for those minerals you'd need to eat enormous amounts of salt, which isn't good for you or even realistic.

The body craves homeostasis/balance. This is why when a man goes on a Testosterone replacement therapy by getting weekly injections his ESTROGEN can skyrocket (injecting 3-4 times a week at lower doses tends to fix this as you get tiny little spikes 4 times a week instead of a huge one every week followed by a massive drop at the end of the week). The body will convert any extra Testosterone that isn't immediately in need of use into Estrogen to keep a specific hormonal balance. Same with neurotransmitters, mental illness if caused by the body losing its ability to balance these hormone precursors within the body. EVERYTHING in the body is about balance, likewise, having proper electrolyte and mineral balance is CRUCIAL for proper heart function. If you get panic attacks or fast pounding heartrate etc.. go drink some coconut water and eat a banana or two; guarantee it'll be gone in a few hours. Just that miniscule ~30% daily value fluctuation will completely erase significant symptoms like tachycardia/palpitations etc.. As @iMiss Mr.Kitty said, I'll take EVERY bit of mineral balance change i can get. It DOES make a difference, especially if taken over the course of long periods.

So what’s your point??? Save your money and by the cheap table salt. 🤷🏻‍♂
@ReallyericaTj
@ReallyericaTj 2 года назад
@@IMissMrKitty Here's the point: If the benefit you're seeking is the one this video claims to address (preventing or lowering blood pressure) you will get 0% closer to that goal by switching to an unrefined salt. Instead, you need to cut your total salt intake-- and add nutrient rich foods or supplements to your diet. The RDA for the minerals that help balance sodium are: 1000+ mg calcium, 500-1000 mg magnesium, and 4700 mg potassium daily. How much of these can you get from an unrefined salt? One teaspoon (the total amount of salt you should have in a day) of unrefined "mineral rich" Redmond salt provides 30 mg of calcium (as opposed to the 9 mg. in Morton iodized table salt) which is the equivalent to the amount in 1-1/2 *teaspoons* of ricotta cheese. It also provides 7 mg of magnesium (amount in 1/2 *teaspoon* of almond butter) and 6 mg potassium (about 1/70 of a banana.) It makes LESS sense to eat unrefined salt to lower blood pressure than it does to eat fortified salt to get your daily iodine. But the Celtic salt sure is delicious, no doubt about that!

I personally buy the unrefined salt only because it tastes better. I’ve said this time and time again, Bobby seriously needs to stop giving advice on health and nutrition. Have you seen Oryx Desert Salt on shelf in Whole Foods? It is from an underground salt lake in the Kalahari Desert in Southern Africa, from a remote, pristine uninhabitable area. It is a renewable sustainable source, and is free from any pollution or contamination. Still contains vital trace elements and minerals and is not processed or refined. Naturally organic and delicious. Oryx Desert Salt grinders have a ceramic mechanism so is 20x and more refillable and doesn't grind plastic into your food.

Anytime you isolate a mineral it doesn’t have what it needs to process correctly and can cause problems because it will rob from your body the other nutrients it needs to process and salt needs to have a certain balance with potassium. table salt is isolated sodium chloride stripped of potassium and other minerals. That’s why we need to use mineral salt blends like Himalayan sea salt.
