Hey everyone! I hope your new year is starting out great and everyone is safe and sound. In this part of the build series of the DIY Crawler Hauler and Bugout Camper I decided that I need storage....lots of storage for gear, clothes, food, etc. Follow along and see the build process of how I did it and what it looks like so far!

You produce very good videos of this trailer build project. But even better than the videos, it is your attitude. You maintain a positive attitude. You are building the trailer on the street, and not inside a shop or warehouse. Not even on a driveway. Yet you are moving right along, and it is coming together really well. As mentioned, it gets windy, but that does not slow you down. Thank you sharing your work. You can be proud of what you have done. Take care, and yes, one more subscriber for you. Aloha! K Inouye Honolulu, Hawaii

Thank you for the very kind words, it means a lot. It's been a very fun and frustrating project at the same time. One day I want to get a large shop but it's currently not financially possible. One day tho lol.
@skywatcher808

I understand that, which is how we come to appreciate what we have even more. We do not have things handed to us on a silver platter. And that is perfectly fine. All the very best to you. I am looking back at your earlier videos of both the hauler build, as well as the videos of places you have visited. Thank you for producing your videos. Keep up the good work, and your great attitude. It is so good to see. Aloha!

Hello, new to the channel but a friendly neighbor hood fire fighter! I would suggest getting a separate Carbon Monoxide and mount it about a foot off the floor. This is because Carbon Monoxide hangs close to the floor at first then fills the room and by time that happens you will already be incapacitated. Just trying to spread knowledge and help everyone be safe!

Thank you for the heads up. I do have another digital display CO detector that I plan on placing closer to the ground for that reason.

I think you should cut the back of that lower cabinet off so it fits under the desk flush or extend the desk out to meet the under cabinet. Are you going to add a refrigerator under the desk? I ask because if so then I guess you would need to measure it before deciding what way to go. I think a small refrigerator would be perfect under there you could also put a sleek induction cook top that sits flush with the desk then you would have a mini Kitchenette if you will. The induction tops are perfect for these types of installs, small, discrete, appealing, low power consumption and very functional. I think this would be a perfect little area for this. Either way again I really dig this project and if I had the time or was alone and didn’t have a wife that wants a huge RV lol than I would love to take on a project like this so for now I have to live Vicariously through you. Thanks for the ride. Your doing a great job keep these videos coming please please please and thank you!!!

Unfortunately I can't cut off the back end with out A LOT modifications to the drawers and sliders. It really doesn't bother be though. My plan is to get a Dometic CFX fridge on a slide out tray that will go under the bed closer to the door.

You should have a carbon monoxide and propane gas detector near the floor as both are heavier than air.

I keep 2 in my truck when I sleep one under the my head on the floor and the 2nd one in a seat pocket positioned at shoulder level just in case. Can never be too safe

Mounting the boxes upside down would eliminate the unfinished bottom. Cot some of counter top lip out above the cabinet. Cut some plywood as a slab and put it on top of the cabinet and it could slide in and out as a cutting board or counter extension

Coming right along. Enjoying your build series. Couple of notes on your WX station display... I've used the same one in the past. The AC-DC brick that came with it is 12 VDC out. You can cut the brick off and use the wire and connector when you're ready to external power it. It's really nice to have the display always on and you'll be able to see it from bed.

Why don' you go for lowering bed, one that lowers from the roof? A queen or king size bed. Like euro loft lowering bed or the like? If yo scrap your upper cabinets you can have a great lounge area and a work space/desk, a small kitchen and when you go to bed you just lower your bed with the push of a button. As a bonus, you don't need to do your bed in the morning. Just flick the switch and raise the bed to the ceiling. Your storage needs could be inside the kitchen cabinet/workspace/office desk and under the sofa. Bring less stuff and travel more as you will have a more versatile space. Bad weather? Stay inside and edit a video, cook a meal or spend the day in bed.

I'll just have to include a bathroom with my lady and kid joining me on trips, they don't know how to use a tree haha.

Where those cabinets have no door, you should put speakers to fill the gap, and then recessed lighting underneath. All electronics in the cabinet behind the speaker, and then non of that cabinet space is wasted.
