i’m a simple man. i see crawler hauler updates, i click excellent work man! i can’t wait to see this thing with a jeep on it and watch you enjoy all of your hard work
Pro tip use the tank selector and only open 1 of your lp tanks at a time. This way if you have a leak you still keep a full tank. Plus when tank one is empty you have an ideab of how much time you have left based on use. Also you can take 1 empty into to town and refill.
The regular is supposed to be auto switching so I should be able to just keep using one and replace the other as I use it. But things break down so I may have to use this idea.
Man that fire pit on the deck was nice. Now you can enjoy adult beverages around the fire even if it's raining. A few good friends with acoustic guitars and a camp fire set list and you can sing out loud yet keep toasty and dry .
Awesome build. With all the propane accessories it may be a good idea to have a emergency shut off in the camper. You may want to look into a commercial shut off that they use in restaurants or even reroute the main propane line to a master shut off then back to the tee. Great project. What to do something like this for a ATV. Thanks for the ideas.
A cigarette lighter works good to find leaks if you don't have a fancy sensors it's more fun and dangerous.😄 Most utilities use a higher pressure leak rate test to be sure!
My biggest concern is using quick fittings or quick connectors on gas lines I've used quick disconnectors all of my life and all of them eventually leak, and I'm okay with that as long as it's air leaking. I could never imagine using a quick disconnect on a gas line. It just sounds like a good way to get dead.
Dude, you are so smart. I am 66 years old & I love all you are doing to your camper set up. Gives me ideas. I have a Lance 1181 camper, but would love the setup you have. I used to drive 18 wheelers, & Wyoming is always windy.
Fantastic build. I have a trailer and I'm inspired to build my own after seeing yours. I'm in uk and mine will be shorter to carry my motorbike on the deck.👍
Man I'm loving the RV progress. I found your channel right around the start of the build and have been watching every upload since. With how awesome your content is, it shouldn't take long at all to get lots of subs. Keep Up the great work, looking forward to next spring when you can actually get some real use out of that beast.
Very nice.. I used to be into off-roading and spent a lot of time in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Wife would have all the camping gear in her WJ (lifted on 32's) and I would have to drive my YJ (completely custom on 35's) to the trails... ton of fun, but this would have been a lot better. Wife and two kids with the electric blanket in 3 feet of snow made for a cold tent - but tons of fun!
longer pvc tubes that extend about .5 inch beyond the outer wall so you then have material that a larger 45 or 90 degree elbow can be placed onto the tube penetrator, which might make for a better weather protector. might even then be able to caulk the elbow to make it look more like a stuffing tube that is used on u.s. naval ships for wiring that penetrates bulkheads and decks.. or just not run the propane into the house area to begin with. you have the most beautiful chassis frame in the world. why not just have a larger propane manifold mounted to the outside wall near the bottles and have a dedicated propane line run to the back of your trailer attached to that gorgeous chassis and minimize holes into your living space. Thank you for the video and the entertainment you provide. i'm liking of your tools dangling off of your shop walls and the abilities you have to create cool projects. awesome videos, again thanks
Wow, those are some kind words thank you very much! I'm constantly figuring out better ways to do things after I already do then of course. But it's all a learning process and it's all a lot of fun. I like your ideas and will try to incorporate them into future projects!
For your flange plate to the outside you could use a 3" round blank electric box cover with a 1/2 or 3/4 " knockout in it, and a watertight cord grip to the plate and propane hose.
For a little exterior fitting for the rear propane line you can use a mine rubber plate type thing. It’s plastics with strew holes on the side a rubber flap for the lines being ran through the hole
Maybe look into a large garage style mosquito magnetic mesh to put on all three sides for a little bug proofing during those summer camping trips. I've seen them at Home Depot and Amazon totally worth it.
Also, a coupling on the watertight cord grip on the inside and a length of threaded plastic pipe could incorporate the flange, grip, and sleeve all into one piece.
I've used those before for high pressure air lines but these one are a little different. I'm gonna change to hose out in the future now that I have the main routing laid out
You could always keep a collapsible fire pit on hand if you did feel like having a wood fire. Also a portable shower system, and you could heat the water with that propane.
@@CodeBrownProductions they might be more expensive but you could look at the 270 over hangs they have for overlanding. But they probably don't come as big as you are long
Put the Coleman camp stove on a drawer in the cabinet ! The way you have it you could get a Propane/Electric fridge ! Buy a used one at an RV salvage yard , can’t be to much !
I’m sure someone has already commented. But any accessories that have onboard regulators will not run on low pressure. Ie the little buddy Otherwise GREAT JOB!! keep it up!!
For that plastic piece heat up the outer edge and bend or stretch the outer edges to create a beveled flare. Mount a plate on the outer edge. You could use a number of things to make a plate or buy one. I would do this on the interior and exterior.
You can get a quick disconnect that screws on to the exterior wall of a house for an outdoor grill Edit: I just tried searching it online but couldn't find it, I did see it by a friends house, it's like the one aquor has for water, other options would be to screw the disconnect to a wall valve that has a flange or use an access panel.
If you use a fiberglass resin by either coating the wood or better yet drill the hole anb fill it with thickened epoxy and re-drilling the hole you will never have to worry about water intrusion.
Don't know how, but stumbled across your build videos and some how was sucked in. You have done an awesome job. My only question is? Have you weighed the trailer and made sure you won't be exceeding the axle weight ratings and the weight ratings on the tires when you load the jeep?
Sure have. Its a 14k equipment trailer. Fully loaded (camper, Jeep and trailer itself) I'm 11k. Tounge weight is 1k. Which is perfect for my one ton diesel.
Did you ever figure out the fitting for your camper stove? I’ve run into that problem myself. I can’t use the rigid pipe regulator that came with the stove
Are you going to enclosed de propane tanks, for what I know in cold weather gas gets heavier and kind of freeze, so, you won't be able to use it. Anyways your project is awesome, I'm like you why spend or overpaid when you can build it and customize it for less. Congrats
Been watching the crawler hauler vids. Awesome build. Question: did you use flare fittings for the propane plumbing? From online searches I see you are supposed to use the propane tape for non-flare fittings, but no tape for flare fittings. I just want to be sure before I plumb out my propane set up. Thanks!
Let me start off by saying I love the build man! But I gotta say this since my OCD is killing me. Why not try to hide the wires & hoses? I noticed you mount them right in the middle of the wall/cabinet. Is there a purpose behind that? Good work on the trailer either way man!
Mostly because it was easier to build this way since I didn't know how I wanted the wiring to go untill everything was in place. Also it makes it really easy to add stuff down the road and make repairs if needed while in still figuring out how to build these.
If you have problems with your generator is because it is being double regulated. Also get rid of the hose clamps on your propane hoses. Contact a local propane supplier and have proper hose ends made up. For safety sake.
Unless they are the flared fittings, you don't use any sealant tape on them. Only use the Gas Sealant tape on the NPT fittings. But yeah, when i first learned about the gas sealant tape I had to go back and redo a lot of projects lol
@@CodeBrownProductions Well, a good and cheap printer is the Creality Ender 3v2 for close to 200 bucks. all3dp.com/1/creality-ender-3-v2-review-3d-printer-specs/ So with a roll of filament you are ready to go for around 250.
I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say not to code. As for safe, I feel confident in their connections that there are no leaks and that they are secure. HAVING SAID THAT, I still plan to change them out for proper fittings soon.
@@CodeBrownProductions I have had to in behind and fix where lpg code was not followed and I am glad to say no one died. But the damage was awesome for me because so much damage was done! Be safe with lpg. Because it has small ignition window that people think 💭 OH WELL, It will be ok. Then BOOM 💥
man nice build but you are ballsy using just hose clamps for gas inside the camper. I would not risk the chance of them leaking and would have got them professionally done but that's just me
To say that I'm not nervous would be a lie. But I have done every precaution, and leak tested all the fittings to the point were I feel safe with it. Ideally I would have liked to have pre-made, clamped fittings but I needed to see how everything routed and change things as I went along. So this was how I did it for now. I'll prolly redo them in the future now that I know how it's gonna work.
@@CodeBrownProductions nice project. There is a reason all rv manufacturers use copper tubing for gas lines.please fix. I am nervous for you. Please!!!!
