Safes are a good choice for some folks, but I don’t use one. From the purchase, to the delivery & installation, it’s straight out advertising you store valuables. This is my advice for home storage: Slap’s “Ten Rules For Storing Gold & Silver At Home” 1) A safe advertises hidden valuables, but if you must use a safe, bolt it down and load it with VERY heavy weights. 2) Store some decoy/sacrificial coins/cheap jewelry in an easy-to-find location. Then hide the good stuff well. 3) Unless you use a safe, NEVER hide your stash in a bedroom or bedroom closet. 4) Same as #3, but insert “study” and “pantry”. 5) Forget hollowed-out books, fake soup cans, etc… your stack will be stolen in less than 5 minutes. 6) If using a desk, bookcase or shelf, make sure your hiding spot won’t be revealed if these are tipped over. Because they WILL be tipped over. 7) You WILL want frequent access to your stash (to add to it, look at it, or (god forbid) take from it)… don’t make access difficult (behind drywall, buried in the yard, need a sledgehammer to get to it, etc.). 8) Unless using a safe, the best spots are in plain sight and LIKELY TO BE OVERLOOKED, or they’re multi-layered (meaning you have to move this, shift that, lift this and open that in order to access your stash). Also, never hide your stash where a contractor/repairman may come across it. 9) Make sure someone you trust (spouse, financial planner, estate attorney, etc) has a sealed “open in the event of my death” letter describing where your stash is hidden. 10) With the exception of #9 above, NEVER EVER talk about your stash or that it’s in your home. KEEP IN MIND: The average home burglary in the US lasts just 11 minutes! Thieves want a quick hit-and-run.

I like silver, I’m really a prepper stacker. I opened an account with the State of Texas Bullion depository, but not sure if I will ever put anything there. I think home storage is better.

If your gold & silver are in an IRA, it MUST be stored in a depository until you take distributions, per IRS rules. These depositories are private, secure and insured. And your metals can be segregated, not co-mingled with someone else’s metals.
Another Excellent video! I personally have security within arms reach 24/7. Don’t know if you’ve looked into it but when the stuff hits the fan we will need Com. Use the tactic they did during the great depression, they put their valuables inside things, open an old TV, the back of a fridge, put it inside some junk that no one would dare to look. A safe is a one stop shop for a theif.
Excellent video! I just recently purchased a safe (I couldn't get a true TL-30 Rated as the back-up times are over a year and a half away. I went with the American Security BFX 6030. While it's designed for guns it provides excellent security for other valuables such as silver. It doesn't come cheap. After the safe, delivery, tax and bolting it to the slab the price came to over $5300. A steal in my view (It weighs a whopping 1200 pounds!). I have ADT and will add a motion sensing camera to where my safe is. One thing I think you need to make clear (If you haven't already in previous videos) is that MOST homeowner insurance policies will not insure precious metal bullion.
Thanks for the good ideas on where to store. I really don't want to get a safe or trust the bank. I live in an apartment. I've never been burglarized before so I don't worry about it too much. I have thought of some of the ideas you mentioned. Give Firecracker a big hug for me.

Unfortunately the safe behind you can be opened in about a second if you have a certain object in your hand with little effort... i have the same style, but a manual (not digital) safe is gonna be better. But it also takes longer for the owner to access the contents when needed...
I handle ALL of my silver! Storing your metal in your house is the best overall option. Don't be afraid to bury some of it, so long as you're doing it right. Also, don't be afraid of also storing it or hiding in in plain sight, which is to say, out in the open. There are various ways to do this. A safe is nice, but it's also a recognizable target. Anything that can be monitored by you can be monitored by someone else who isn't you, so long as it's hooked up to some kind of network, cell phone, etc...
If u don’t hold it, u don’t own it. Especially when things go mad max. The last thing u want to do is go into the city to some vault to try and get your property and u get there and it’s closed or worse, there’s FBI control over the contents in the building. Very good video, thanks
Hi Aaron, what a pleasant surprise to see this 2nd video after just subscribing to your 1st today. A reminder to silver stackers that about six years ago a few bouillon companies scammed / defrauded customers and closed down: the big one was Tulving; I think another was Northwest Territorial. and one more. Tulving was selling paper contracts but did not have any hard-product stock. Also, some dealers sell "fake" product. Need to learn how to tell fake from real. Thanks :-D There was a company in China that gold-plated titanium bars that had no gold content at all.
Doing Maintenance for a living I would suggest using the best nuts and bolts to to anchor safes. Ive come across alot of Cheap metal that snaps under pressure. With doors don't give all your attention to the lock but also the sill! Homes all have 1/2" inch screws in the sill strike plate. Replace with 3" or 4" till you hit the studs the door frame is mounted to. I do not know if security signs is a good idea. Your bragging you have something to steal. Would enjoy anyone's response here so we all can get better at security.
I just had to break into a well known brands digital safe bc the keypad died. Tried to rebuild it w ordered parts but ultimately bought a new “analog” safe. Great ideas I’m going to use from this video Aaron, subbed.
@@jens7898 the melting point for silver is 1763 degrees Fahrenheit, gold is 1948 degrees Fahrenheit, and a house fire 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. So it’s not particularly required, but if you are concerned about your silver turning black then I would keep in a safe. Hope that helps

Hi Aaron, greetings from Oregon! Good idea having a "decoy safe" which is easy to find and put a small amount of silver in there. You would then have a hidden safe that you will put most of your silver. That was an informative video and I had not thought about those grinding wheels thieves may use. An idea that I had, and have done for a long time is that we park our cars inside the garage so thieves cannot tell if we are home or not. Thank you for your service in the USMC! Honestly, the best method of home storage is to put a small amount of metal in your safe and the bulk of your metal in secret locations such as behind the safe, under the safe, inside of walls, in a secret room, or buried outside in a known location under a metal beam. Once they spent time breaking into your safe, there will be little time left to explore other possible locations. Also they may believe that the small stash they found is all you have. If they don't find anything in your safe...then they'll know you have it somewhere else. Also...thanks for your service!
Don't keep you metals in your obvious safe. During a home invasion when the attackers gun is pointed at your or a loved ones head you are going to open it for them and lose everything.
the best multi-point security system is not making utube vids telling the world what you have and where you have it for starters. the doors on most safes are thick/reinforced. The walls/top are thinner metal, usually. Building it into a block wall/ceiling is a great way to reinforce your safe. Nice to see you started a chan and I wish you the best.
Very good information here, I have a home safe but hate to leave everything in that one location. Any alternative storage ideas to keep it at home would be great!
Our condo is our safe but our first rule of protection is to allow as few people as possible to know what we have. When the maintenance guys or the pest dude comes over, even for only 15 minutes, I won't even leave an empty 2X2 Saflip coin holder laying out on our desks. That way, they won't hazard a guess that we're coin collectors.

I agree with the public vault storage risk. You cannot trust what could happen if you are one of the ones that rejects CBDC. Government could just whip a law and make it illegal to own any precious metals. If you are not close to your metals , make these public vaults surrender the contents.
I have Arlo cameras in areas where valuables are. They give you phone alerts and live video on your phone. They have to get past the dog first. I hide mine in venomous snake cages. Once the get past the pit bull they have to get past the Indonesian Spitting Cobra.
I worry more about financial institutions that could devalue the amount of silver leverage, cost of maintaining your silver, not insurable, or government backed. Or rules of governance, propriety or access. Government is only influenced by institutional lobbyists on access or use!

Best silver coin I picked up is the Korean clay, utterly beautiful, chiwoo Cheonwang. The new eagles are nice as well, but 40 bucks a round is steep, foreign coins are about 33 to hold a better deal, kuggerands maple leaf, phils, brittanias all nice coins.
Buy a Liberty Safe. They are quality and made in USA. Mine is 700 pounds. Not worried about someone taking it. Has electric and dehumidifier. Great for storage of any item.
I had an interesting problem with a self store, where they made a mistake with taking my monthly payment, not metals it is just storage of my stuff between houses, and I could not get access until they sorted out getting paid. They were never not getting their money but I still got locked out, just a note even when yiu think it cant go wrong there is risk everywhere. Felt very vulnerable I have to say and its not how I want to feel, so the stuff is getting moved. To my own access.
The same thing happened to my elderly agents at their bank! I wonder if it’s some type of scam they are running? Oddly their bank closed for good recently. Perhaps they are hoping to come across boxes that have valuables?
Home safe best, but depends where you live. Some condos have rules that restrict drilling into the floor. Also not good getting permission because word of mouth will already know what have. A PRI gate home you are set.
Great ideas! Im a woman out on a Texas ranch. I have protection in 3 different areas of the house. I always lock my doors, no matter what. My momma taught me that! It saved her life and two of my sisters one time. Im looking for a comfortable holster for a smaller 9mm. Also, are there any affordable night vision you recommend??
I keep my silver in God's vault. Deep inside the earth on my property. You still have immediate access to the metal, but it's only known by me and my spouse. Also have a small "decoy" stash somewhere so that anyone motivated enough could get the decoy and believe that they got what they were looking for.
I agree, safety deposit boxes are not safe! Look into it. The contract says "They're NOT responsible for any losses!" Soooo........... Aaron, back in my car audio days, we had these car alarm Piezo buzzers that hit 140db, (we called them Pain Generators) two buzzers hooked together, would buzz at crossing frequencies, (5khz-10khz) the sound is intolerable!!!! We had many guys we knew try to get in the car and hotwire it...NO ONE stayed in the car!!!! I wish I could find these again. You hook them to an independent circuit. NO WIFI or online hook up, HARD WIRE only. Install them at all entry points and in the room where your safe is......Unless the thieves are deaf, you're good :-)
I try to practice the 3 layer of protection with my metals, i.e. in the floor with a rug over it under a sofa. Not that easy to get to. but also not easy to find
