I’m surprised you did not have PETA on the list. It was probably the most popular (not in a good way) animal crossing brand crossovers. They literally tried to tell you do not fish, catch bugs, or even wear clothes.
Grinding on an island with your coworkers to make company themed island is insane to me. Like yeah theres time travel, but it still must be hard to get certain flower colors and furniture n such for all those islands
You think Wendy's using Animal Crossing for promoting their line of fast food restaurants is interesting or odd? They made their own Mario level to promote their restaurant too. If I recall correctly, they used Mario Maker 2 to make that level.
Roket Elijah is the type of person who could make the most simple game way more interesting so keep up the good work -your good friend who was here before you got 20k🎉
there was also a dream island by pandora (you know, the company that sells rings, necklaces etc) but they made it when the craze died down. it was mostly advertised at there stores
It was super cool seeing all the brands use animal crossing in creative ways, that's one of the big appeals to me for the game. I didn't even know most of these, I might look to see the full Detroit lions schedule though to see what they said about the Ravens ;)
Something I find kinda funny is that the people who used it to advertise had to play the whole game and everything to get terraforming just imagine grinding on acnh for work
I’m so sure companies had a specific part of their marketing branch working just on animal crossing stuff. Bigger companies definitely have the bandwidth to be able to do that. Love this video btws!
Tbh i wish there was more inspired Animal Crossing games, though prob nothing will be better than the original. I love games with themes were you build a city, form relationships, etc, just like Stardew Valley or Harvest moon.
Covid got me into this game and subsequently the community. Covid didn't affect me directly but the Quarantine made me have debilitating anxiety and paranoid of everything. After I had panic attacks every class in school, but I loved that animal crossing was there and the community is sometimes really cool.
1:31 "This is an anti-smoking advertisement. Did they have to drag 'Animal Crossing' into it?" Yes, and it is BASED. If the smoking propaganda commercials looked this good, they wouldn't annoy me as much.
i find the idea of some poor intern struggling to get 3 stars on their island so that the company they work for can set up a virtual chuck E. cheese or something so funny 😭
I think this is my favorite video from you so far, I knew that brands pitched in when New Horizons was very new, but oh my gosh i had no idea about all of these - very informative!!
LMAO the Detroit Lions, I watch your videos with snacks and I was drinking my soda and I almost chocke. The Lions are the NFL's meme, I mean not even the Browns are as meme as the Lions.
@alkv7604 Ah good I think 😅 it's full of weeds lol I get really into animal crossing then leave focus for ages! Not too sure what villagers I have as I'm just doing jobs around the town but I've got a few ugly ones I can't lie 😂😂
Just found my switch again and started playing acnh after about 2 years, then i discoverd your channel and i bingd every video, love the work, keep it up🙏🙏
The most wildest thing that I’ve experienced during the Animal Crossing craze, was that during the presidential campaign to prepare for the elections, is that one of the presidents, in which I believe that it’s Joe Biden, managed to have someone make an Animal Crossing island for him, theming around himself, and what he would do if he’s running for president. Of all things that I’ve encountered so far relating to Animal Crossing, I find it within the top 3 wildest uses of Animal Crossing for marketing, because never have I ever expected to see someone try to run for president, through the use of playing Animal Crossing, to sway the public’s view of said upcoming running future president.
As someone who 1) does not care about sportsball but 2) lives in Michigan, the state the Detroit Lions are from... well. I don't really pay them much mind. My grandpa taught me to support 2 teams. There's a big rivalry between Michigan State University and University of Michigan. State is where my grandpa graduated from, so he told me he supports "State, and whoever is playing against Michigan" aka, his school, and whoever plays against U of M. He even had a bottle opener for like, bottles with those weird metallic lids. My sibling and I would set it off with forks all the time, and it played the State theme. I think he got rid of the batteries because we were having too much fun making all that noise.
I absolutely love the adorable way Americans pronounce ‘turnip’ !! ‘Turnup’ ah it’s the cutest thing ever 😂❤ I will now forever pronounce ‘turnip’ as ‘turnup’
