A little treat from the archives of when Gennaro visited Italy 5 years ago and cooked an amazing Risotto using Strawberries! Don't knock it until you try it! Follow me! / gennarocontaldo / gennarocontaldo
Why does everyone ask this in all his videos? It's really not hard to put two and two together. He grew up in Minori Italy. You see, he's italian. Later he moved to London. So naturally he has adopted british dialect as a result. There!
I know. I never imagined it could taste that amazing. I thought why is he so excited over the flavor. Oh i understand now. I replaced butter with olive oil though, did not use salt, but used a little ground thyme and chilli ( very little). Amazing.
I've heard a lot of people in my life who used the word "melt" when they should have used "dissolve", but Gennaro is the first person I've ever heard using the word "dissolve" when he should have said "melt". 😂😂😂
My favourite Uncle to learn cooking from, your passion with everything you do is so contagious. Thank you, Uncle. Much love from Cape Town, South Africa
What a strange idea! I mean I'm sure it tastes amazing, Gennaro always knows what he's doing, but strawberry and onion in the same dish? Intersting! Anyway, I'd like a bit! 😊🍓
Onions are sweet and so are strawberries (although can be tangy too). It’s not as strange as you think if you understand the flavours of your ingredients that you are using
Also, listen to the start of the video. He explains how the flavours work in harmony. Your thinking in a wrong way because you’re focusing on ‘2 ingredients’: onion and strawberry. Did you forget the other ingredients that make the dish? White wine, rice, balsamic vinegar, butter. The dish contains more than 2 ingredients. It’s not just about strawberries and onion.
Gennaro or Jamie. Please help. Do you chefs know, what happend to the Food Busker!? 4 monts the last video. Please check. Many people miss him. Thanks, for your help...
@@pd5156 You know, i prefer this kinds of dishes, cuz i can copy them, i can find ingredients. 90% of dishes of chefs with michelen stars should start like this: take a vacation and a half of your sallary.
In Czech we have Jiří Babica. He is self acclaimed cook master and this is one of his most famous sh*t he ever cooked :D english translate would be "racer pan" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ba2XDxwG_r4.html
Gennaro, ascoltami bene, torna in Italia che mi sa che non hai presente cos è il parmigiano e nemmeno la vera ricetta del risotto di fragole, quello è troppo dolce per un italiano
@@T0pMan15 I don't eat fast food or anything processed in fact I have a wonderful palate and probably eat things you find weird on a regular basis you stupid bitch.
What was in the water? And when are you serving it? Starter? Main? Not as dessert i guess... and is it possible to serve anything next to this? Please answer who knows:)
Bobo risotto alle fragole is a real thing. There are plenty of Italian websites online and Italian RU-vid videos showcasing this. A traditional risotto is rather plain and contains butter, chicken broth and parmiagiano reggiano as the main flavour combinations. Plus, pumpkin risotto is very common. My girlfriends mum (she is Italian and they live in Italy) cooks pumpkin risotto all the time. It’s just a variation of risotto but still very Italian and still very traditional. There are lots of variations of risotto in Italy obviously.
T0pMan15 I’m well aware of different variations of risotto... however at this point we’re just going to be arguing the definition of the word "traditional". I use traditional similar to the word classic
If you visit some Italian blogs, you can easily find this recipe. It is not so known as other risotto's recipes but it does exist and is kind of classic in Italy.
I've watched all your videos more than once and I've learned a lot, you've changed the way I cook, I use your techniques every day. My family and friends love my dishes, I will continue to follow you and learn. Thank you a thousand times, I will be eternally grateful to you. Thank you my friend !!
Surely delicious but I, first of all, would use far less onion and even a shallot which is less pungent. My recipe is a risotto which uses nettles (ortiche) and wild strawberries which you can find in Italy and have a much better aroma. Risotto, nettles and wild strawberries - the Italian flag a bit like Pizza Margherita
I learned how to make this in Culinary today and whats so weird is he is saying EXACTLY what my teacher said so i’m guessing he watched this before class or something loll
i luv this italian dude. i made already his pizza´s spaghetti, but im too scared or unexperienced to do risotto. first of i have never eaten a original risotto same as shrimp i have never eaten it so i dont know how it should taste. cant imagine strawberry and parmeggiano cheese together
