Ofc I get this recommended Pretty good video. Strength is good to have, but I think it's so hard to balance good strength with good technique. More strength means it's easier to "waste" energy by pressing the keys too hard, requiring better technique to make use of it. Then there's also muscle endurance, which is a very different thing that most people don't train in the gym. I like rock climbing for that, and I think it's vital for stamina in osu especially. Biology of your hand: ring + index or middle + index is pure preference. The muscle used to activate all three of those fingers is the same. The difference is how long each finger is, meaning it's easier for some people to maintain the right hand position and angle with one rather than the other. Obviously this hasn't been tested, but this is my hypothesis on it too. I think your idea has some good merit to it as well though.
I really don't know about the rock climbing part. My max hang is somewhere around 8 seconds on the 10mm beastmaker edge with +20kg added weight, still can't stream for shit. I'm relatively steadily improving at rock climbing, but it has yet to affect my speed or stamina.
He does have a point. When I played mania a lot back in the day, I had a ludicrous amount of stamina because I was in a fit and healthy state. And then when I came back years later having put on several kilos I found myself getting tired quickly and having nowhere near the level of speed I had. Being fit does matter and regular exercise does help.
Raw strength only comes into play if you play without rapid trigger. It's a way to get rid of finger lock when you can't push the keys all the way down. hitting the gym and doing pull ups especially make a huge difference with bottoming out your keys at higher bpm and it works for me
@@a-o-si meant like how to find a technique that works. Like mrekk or Zylice tapping style kind of thing. I have a wooting for months now, but i have to tap like on a normal keyboard cause then i just end up doubletapping or fingerlocking to the point where it doesn't respond at all despite me having enough speed for like any map
Also don't be scared to swap ring/middle fingers. Something I start feeling that I would be better at streams if I switched fingers. And surprisingly it works!
the idea of "practice vs performace" might help me with improving in general. It doesnt have to be pretty or clip-worthy, as long as I practice regularly the muscle memory may let me do the cool stuff
@@Krultist because you just need to fcking play and put the hours in And there are plenty of speed guides from khz and ryuk for example who HAVE ‘mastered’ speed to a degree, rather than this buffoon who just mashes rapid trigger without control. (And cheated😂😂 for cloud) yeah that’s a good teacher He’s definitely not view-farming you
from my experience ring index is generally worse for speed, i don't think stronger hands helps for osu, you should practice both deathstreams and bursts (not just bursts for speed), but not being tense while streaming is good advice and so is not panicking
I had this issue since like way back at May/June 2023, I was trying to practice my single tap because I feel like my tap was suck when doing jumps. Other issue I had to mention is that my tapping feels heavy and like I constantly bottoming out too much on the keyboard. Note that I am a main alt player since started playing so when I try to practice single tap my laptop broke sadly and stopped playing after until I got a new one back at mid October, and oh god lemme tell you my tapping was so bad I can't even hit anything around 5.0-4.0 SR anymore, I also tried to post this with video of my tapping on reddit to help me find solutions to my issue. do y'all have any solution for it? like how I constantly bottoming out and therefore I couldn't get my index finger up but middle can and the tapping feels too heavy, thanks.
As a 6k pp player, I still can't stream even 170bpm comfortably. This is my maximum speed, I am hitting the gym for a one year already, but neither my stamina and speed didn't become better. I only improve my technique that makes me more stable and powerful than other players, but when it comes to 170+bpm streams then I become weak. Sometimes, when I get thrilled by FCing some hard maps - I become slightly faster, that tells me about my real potential, I can stream 190 and burst 220 for a couple of minutes, but it happens really rare. So I don't know what can I do for myself to improve my fingers...
On the contrary side that someones need a technique where the arm/wrist have little to no movement, they can also go for pinky index. The pinky finger is weak, but is super fast if in a good position, I place my thumb on the spacebar to sort of take the weight off of the fingers, which makes my tapping feel really light, and as a result of that, I am able to tap fast.
Some good points but I think nobody can tell you the right technique Its just something that you have to figure out on your own because it is indeed different for everyone
so long as you keep pushing your limit. I got the exact same playstyle yet been hardstuck 50-60k for a while now. Playing full alt makes you very comfortable playing simple maps which could trap you in the rabbit hole of 5 star maps, or even worse, leaderboard farming..
"ring index better" no its comfort, if you feel ring better use that most people have higher power and control in middle so... For people who already learned streaming with middle just stick with it no need to reset all your skill for a power boost you might never get, you can try ring index but don't force yourself to switch if that makes sense. Also one thing i will say is force yourself to play faster BPM maps lest say you can only play 200bpm, force yourself to play 210 if you want to improve, you NF and play the same map again and again, top speed players all agree on this one thing, so don't overthink it and play the game like Merami said. Also this guy did all this min maxing and after all this his tapping is soo ass like no offense, speed is there but its not consistent it looks barely better than double tapping. That's the downside of ring index you loose control and tend to mash keys.
its not even ring index its just this guy doesnt know how to stream and is just abusing/mashing rapid trigger. ring index is definitely viable, just look at arnold or akolibed
I know how…. just not very good 😅 but this play is from before I had rapid trigger ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PaggEaitnWU.htmlsi=eQtzJUpEVgpCU-48
switching to ring and index finger instantly improved mu stamina and by a little bit also speed, but it's kinda uncomfortable to tap like that for me and my fingers are curved so I tap the key with my ring finger with like 20-30 degree angle, and I wonder if that can effect my performance in some way?
actually, I don’t know about how healthy this is but I’ve found tapping to be a LOT more comfortable if your hand is flatter. I’m not saying to tap like this but when you THINK about moving your hand near the knuckle and feeling your finger more firm, it can be faster. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PaggEaitnWU.htmlsi=UquUWXmEeDY0KTN6 - tap with your finger tips, not like in this video
My question seems dumb but if I take a big break and come back in my late twenties, is it too late? I am almost 21, 6 digits, got tendonitis 2 months ago, and starting to feel pain again. I am trying to have better positioning but feels like it's not the only thing. I'll take a week break for now I think.
I would say no, but you’ll learn in a different way to when you’re younger, instead of just playing and getting used to it, you’re more likely to really think about what your doing so you might improve faster
thank you for this video. im only a 4800pp guy, but it seems like i have a correct mindset and almost everything you talked about was the same as I did before, i just came up to everything myself, so I guess ill improve and everyone watching this video too.
"Im just a 4800pp guy" with this rank is everything mindset you won't ever improve, like you are literally insulting yourself and everyone with a lower pp than you all at once, even if its not your intention.
