Great video. Im in the process of putting forester struts on my 05 impreza here in Portland, came down from olympic peninsula in ‘22… anyway about to go to the scrap yard to pull some forester struts and the info you presented here was exactly what i needed. I saw another video where a guy was talking about replacing the trailing arms with forester ones? Idk i like the custom spacers, we used to make mounts for marine diesel motors and all sorts of stuff out of high density plastic. I have a big scrap of it that is looking pretty tempting right now…
Shoutout coming from Tacoma. Appreciate what your doing, Working on my 01 outback h6 atm trying to just get a 2 inch managed. Thanks for the videos bro.
Awesome video man. I definitely need to do the spacers on my Impreza. I was unaware that it made that much of a difference!! Thanks for the info!! BTW, SRJ is good shit. My friend has an outback with about 5" of lift using one of SRJ original kits (probably 6-8 years old now) with Forrester struts and king springs. Being as we live in Alaska, a lifted Subaru is a must, in my opinion anyways. I would love to do some sort of engine swap, along with a 5speed. A 2.0 wrx swap isn't the hardest thing in the world to do. The wiring harness and subframe is probably the hardest part. But just think about how fun a lifted turbo'd Subaru would be!! Also - I gotchya to the 350 sub mark. Keep up the videos man. Good info on this page! Edit: Just spoke with my friend that is running SJR setup, and he had nothing but bad things to say. I guess his outback is what SJR origonally used to build his lift kits, and things didn't go well. Look into ADF. I worked with the guy who has the crazy long travel lifted Foz. Sure is crazy how all of these lifted Subaru's come from Alaska ;-)
@@bendaga I owned a 2002 WRX sedan for about 5-6 years myself. VF 39 swap, STI pink injectors, big ass top mount, tgv's deleted, 3" catless straight piped exhaust, STI hood scoop....the list goes on and on. Definitely fun little cars. Now days I spend more $ on my mountain bike than I do my vehicles. Although a WRX swap would be a fun build to do...
Can't wait to see you get some new tires on! You should come out to Colorado and tear up some trails. I'm about to go for the lift on my 02 impreza obs. Any thoughts on reconnecting the sway bars with different brackets or links? Love the channel man, keep em coming.
I'm trying to hunt down some of these for the rear i15.photobucket.com/albums/a383/Kostamojen/Impreza%20Suspension%20Lift/swaybarbrackets.jpg Sourced from: www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/118004-the-unofficial-how-to-lift-your-impreza-thread/
How thick was the spacer that you used to correct the rear wheel geometry? I'm currently making my own spacers for my 02 wrx wagon that I'm going to be installing a set of forester xt struts and springs on. Any info is greatly appreciated thanks! Love the content!
Do you know how they calculate the size of the trailing arm spacer for how much lift you have? I just put a lift kit in my old Volvo and it didn’t come with trailing arm spacers so I’m going to make them.
I'm not sure how to calculate it. I would say that your measurement will depend on how high you go. This is about a 2 and a half inch lift with a 2 inch TA spacer.
Hey bro what's the size of those bolts you used for the spacers and the alignment bolts as well I just lifted mine and need to get me some of those now..
Oh I see I seen some on Ebay but they look. Nothing like the ones you got.. I went to his website but it's not showing me where to add it to my cart so idk.. thanks for all the help bro
@@bendaga ok gotcha! If I install them Will the shop fix them at the shop when doing alignment? I’m trying to install them exactly like you did but I’m not sure if I’m doing it right. I basically just tightened it and had the flap point inward.
Bendaga's Garage I just got done with the lift a couple days ago and it works awesome. I did it on my 2014 Impreza and used forester struts and some subframe spacers.
