The last song is "pan bread" cover but I don't know og artist. They were about to break into "the youth are getting restless" cover by bad brains, but of course the camera cuts out cuz cameraman was pouting no date rape lol
I can be seen several times. At 7 minutes and 29 and 30 seconds I crowd surf in a white T-Shirt and shorts. Such a fun and #rad memory from my #FreshmanYear of #College
At this show with me Dr. Michael Greco, Dr. Jeff Greco, Scott Corley, Buck, Zack, Nitz, and Brian Phillips, the 6681 DP Crew from 1997/8. Plus many other friends from the Resident Halls and Freshman Year. The memories we made will last forever, living on the beach in DP and having fun. So Awesome!
the guy filming saying Eric was a dork twice, complaining they didn't play "date rape": and cutting out on PawnShop when it was soo good was annoying but otherwise some of the best footage of sublime on booze tube.
8:54 Greco just went up shortly then Brian Phillips I believe had the Cowboy hat. Buck, a dentist now, I think was jumping up and down with the cap on. In this 8:54 you see me, Corley with the blond bowl cut, and Buck. The future of 6681 DP Junior Year.
The show was the Friday night prior to May 25th. The 25th is Saturday, the day after the show. We don't hear about it confirmed until Monday or Tuesday. It was the day after the show that he passed, according to Google. But, the story back then was. That he actually played some pick up gig in the small town they were in Saturday night the 25th and he passed sometime the morning of the 26th Sunday.
Is that 765 Embarcadero Del Norte? That looks like the old SAE house. Apparently Jack Johnson used to open for Sublime in college, and he was a student at UCSB in 96. I wonder if he opened for them here.
Did you even go to SB? You must be fairly young if you think that was ever the SAE house. Not trying to start shit or anything, just sayin'. Interestingly enough though Jack Johnson did in fact open this show, but the place didn't start really filling up until near the end of his gig, I would be surprised if any footage of his opening from that night even exists. Was a great show and an awesome night though shame this old footage doesn't do it justice!
I graduated SB well after this video. According to an article in the Daily Nexus (that I can’t directly link to because of the RU-vid rules), FIJI’s house was at 765 Embarcadero Del Norte. There’s even a quote from Dennis (the landlord) saying FIJI had been there since 1995. I wasn’t sure if this show actually happened at 765 Embarcadero Del Norte (the FIJI house) or some other location, which is why I asked that question in my initial comment. SAE moved into 765 Embarcadero Del Norte sometime around 2006 (before leaving the house in 2013). That’s why I referred to it the address as the old SAE house (because they aren’t the current occupants). Interesting fact about Jack Johnson opening this show though, thanks for sharing!
