Testing some IMR 4227 out in the 300 Blackout today. Using some Cast Lee 309-230 Powder Coated Rounds, sized to .309. Very accurate and spectacular numbers. Range Session Starts at 8:38
I had great results with the 230 gr Lee also . They shot under an inch at 50 with CFEblk and 296 . I even milled the boat tail off of the mold to make a flat base and I think around 180 gr and they did even better groups . I prefer supers and haven't loaded many since those tests . Good video Josh . 👍
Hello Josh!! 4227 was the very first powder I chose for my 300 Blk loads and its served me well. It is best for 130 + weights but can work for all. My best ever group was with 4227 and a 150g Hornady 5 shots about .37".
IMR 4227 has worked best for me over other powders that I’ve tried (including CFE BLK, 1680, H110 and Li’l Gun) by far with that bullet. It shoots well for me in 3 different guns at 9.3 grains. Nice video, Josh!
I know you using bolt gun here but I have a AR 16" and I'm trying to get Hornady 208gr bthp to cycle. using 4227 and go from 9.5 - 11.5, still not cycle the next round in. thinking about go higher on powder but not sure. anyone with any data that is working for them with similar bullet weight?
