This is by far my favourite ending to an episode of succession. The scene showing Kendall stuck in the "glass cage" is just perfect "if dad didnt need me right now, i dont exactly know what I would be for"

I love how when they hug at 1:12 Shiv switches off the power player dynamic, and for a brief moment they're just a brother and sister hugging. She's genuinely worried for him

When his dad put the glass up so he doesn’t kill himself made me sad

He did it because if Ken had committed suicide, it would have come back to Logan's company's image. He didn't do it for his kid.
@saifkadri1751
@saifkadri1751 Год назад
@@valeenoi2284 I think this is a questionable take that omits a lot of nuance from the show and especially from Logan's character. Logan is definitely a piece of shit, but I don't know how you could ever say that he wouldn't care at all if Kendall were to kill himself. These two things can be true at once - he can be a toxic and manipulative father and still genuinely fear for his son's life. If the characters in Succession were actually just as simple and one-dimensional as your comment suggests, why bother watching it at all? There would be no real substance in the show. Clearly there has to be at least a little more to Logan than what is just shown on the surface, and the show provides a fair amount of subtext to support that notion. One last point is that your argument fails because it could also be used to make the far less convincing claim that no parent can ever try and stop their child from committing suicide for a "good" reason, because their child committing suicide would also reflect negatively on them as a parent, which would inevitably colour their effort to prevent their child's suicide with selfish intent.

@valeenoi2284 Год назад
@@saifkadri1751 What on earth are you babbling about, kid? This POS handed his own son to authorities to be imprisoned for the original crimes that happened under his watch, when the son was in high school, and he was responsible for sanctioning the wolf pack and cesspool of rapists to do their deeds. Now you want to play the "nuance" game of how Logan "cares" about his kids? GTFOH. Every move he has made is to, A) Keep them subjugated, B) Pit them against each other to maintain power, C) Manipulate everyone around himself to believe one thing but to stab them with a long sword at the end. Kendall ODs, and Logan calls it going to a "nuthouse". Oh please! Logan doesn't need to be portrayed as a multi-dimensional character for the show to have a "substance". That's just your opinion and has no relevance to reality. Your last paragraph clearly illustrates that you do get my point, but you ego overshadows your logical part of your brain, lol.

Someone took his life in that building. They decided to put glass up so no one jumps off rooftops.
@valeenoi2284
@valeenoi2284 Год назад
@@gabbar51ngh Was it ever portrayed in any of the episodes that was the reason for putting up the glasses? To me is like a no brainer as the patio is getting done, they have to put up barriers like that, similar to many other tall buildings for safety reasons.

Oh fuck, this episode was so funny, then this ending is so fucking touching, and the fucking symbolism at the end of him trapped in the glass. He can't hurt himself anymore, but he can't fly anywhere either. And its nothing to do with him. But it's everything to do with him. Fucking masterful.

the idea that while his father definitely loves him to the point of preventing him to kill himself is comforting, it is so devastating to realize that Kendall doesnt even have the freedom and control to end his life on his own terms.

Im only halfway through the series but does logan love him or does he just want his reputation and business to not get stained by his son commiting suicide?
@mDelto
@mDelto 6 месяцев назад
@@codybolo7803honestly I like this but I think it’s definitely up to interpretation. I think Logan does love his children but he obviously puts other priorities over them and doesn’t necessarily hide it. Logan is concerned for Kendall, i.e. when he asked where he was during the shooting, but he’s probably more worried about his business ventures than anything else. It’s an amazing show when you keep guessing what’s really true and what isn’t.

Everyone has thoughts like this. The more extreme thoughts will make you try doing it once, maybe twice. But most attempts end in failure because life is worth clinging on to. Even at the end of the rope, we tend to find that extra room. But you won't know unless you keep holding on. Things always seem harder than they are. We treat ourselves worse than our enemies. It's what drives us to great or terrible things. If its really that bad, deaden your senses with a little room for doubt and walk the path to the conclusion. It doesn't go where you think it does.
