Felt really bad for Kendall. Towards the end of the episode when he realizes it’s all nonsense hopefully it leads him to getting his stuff together. Also bootleg Logan is a monster lol.

I think bootleg Logan lost the deal. I think the next ep will open with no deal or a completely bogus deal. Just got a feeling . "You never have to see my dad" "alryt that sounds great" "But, tomorrow you have to see my dad" "okay.... Yeah, sure 👀 " He resisted saying he'd have a meeting, he tried to make things vague as possible.

I loved Jeremy's delivery of "I wish I were....home". Just some really good acting there. That with the contrast of Shiv dancing in a frenzy and "very emancipated" were my favorite parts. Always interesting to see how characters act and react while in utter despair.

I went through all the possible things Kendall could’ve wanted in his life during that pause. The choice of making that pause was a superb acting choice from Jeremy Strong.

Kendall trying to find some comfort wrapped up in his A-team blanket at the end of the episode was so heartbreaking. He went from screaming excitedly "It's my birthday!" from the balcony to looking down from the balcony after leaving the party, feeling depressed af (and hopefully not thinking about suicide). There is nobody on his team, just some assistants who are sick of him and a girlfriend who doesn't truly know him (hence the void gift). He is a little boy lacking family affection and true love. The warm Mr. T blanket is of little help.

I know it’s “the worst birthday ever” but really if he went through with what he had planned and symbolised himself as Jesus he truly would have imploded… but he didn’t. He stopped and realised how toxic this all was (even if it won’t last) by being surrounded by the best and worst people in his life all at the same time If people think that’s Kendal imploding they’ve been watching a different show

This is the main issue with Kendall. He can't get around this bipolar behavior. He can see when he goes too far, but sooner or later, he goes back to his delusions of grandeur and never grows out of it. It's like wanting to jump off the roof, coming close but never actually jumping. We fear there might be a day when he actually does it, but he's just too scared to do even that. So, the fact that he doesn't implode isn't really self-consciousness, but rather fear, plain and simple. Fear of going too far and reaching the point of no return.

His kids made him a meaningful present which signified real human love for him but he couldn’t find it because of all the meaningless gifts from people who don’t care about him. It’s truly heartbreaking, no matter how many meaningless possessions and experiences he accumulated he has still lost that human connection to his kids.

I think Kendall was extremely desperate for some for some kind of genuine love on his birthday and none of his family members (the siblings), his ex wife or even his gf really gave him that- at least not in a genuine way. Kendall feels things very deeply, often to his detriment :(

I think the present represents the family, love, and everything else of substance he has lost in his vain pursuit of frivolous BS. Was the comforter that he is wrapped in at the end the present they made him that he finally found? If it is I think it's a good sign for his character.

After seeing the preview for next week's episode and the way Kendall carries himself in it it's clear that "birthday" was meant to symbolise him being reborn with the knowledge of who he is, what he wants, and the steps he needs to take next. Win or lose Kendall will finally have peace by the season's end.

What drew me towards the show was the thing that they portrayed in s1e2. We get an idea that though these people are on disagreements, they are still a family, who holds each other at times of despair. Throughout the first two seasons, they have established that. Be it Logan hugging Ken in the s1 finale, or that hug between Ken and Shiv, or Ken suddenly getting protective when Logan hits Rom. What is breaking my heart in this season is that this family is now disintegrating. There has been no such moment, but instead we see everyone harming each other. Not saying that it's bad writing, it's still brilliant, it's just sad.

I think to show that he is so desperate for closeness with someone and since They had an initial strong connection and bond, she’s stuck it out. They should really elaborate on her character. They could really make her out to be a positive force instead of just another groupie. Especially given that she too comes from an elite family. The dynamics are good.
