Not answering questions in parliament should be a crime and MPs should be imprisoned for not doing so

If I didn't know this much about my own job I'd be so mortified I'd resign. Still, no reason to hold the government to the same standards as the rest of us.

Despite Braverman’s dirty politics, I’m so proud of my fellow Londoners for going ahead with the peace march❤️On one hand there’s these brave, considerate citizens raising their voices against injustice,and on the other hand there’s people like Suella Braverman trying to stop them by creating rifts and divisions here in the UK. The main aim of politicians is to divide and rule, and Suella has just proved that! There’s already so much unrest in the world, and she’s adding further fuel to the fire. If you wish bad for others, eventually bad will happen to you. Her bad intentions have backfired on her, and she totally deserves it !

It seems to me that like many Tory ministers, Braverman's obnoxious behaviour is an attempt to cover up her obviously complete incompetence. I didn't think they could fins anyo ne worse than Patel, but they did.

Clearly she is not aware of whats going and nervously turning pages, while she thinks of how to evade the question.

So: "We are doing things" and "Bad things are really bad" "We should raise awareness so bad things don't happen" "Bad things are unacceptable" None of us can argue with that. Thank goodness we have such brilliant people leading the country right now.

Why can't she just give an simple answer? "I'm sorry, I wasn't aware of that particular website. I will look into this with some urgency". She clearly has no idea of what her role is or what home security is all about.

The reason Braverman won't allow the chair to interrupt her is that her answers are rehearsed. If she has to stop mid-spiel she'll have to rewind to the start of the answer in her head.

Disgusting how Tories can get away with openly dodging questions and presenting their misinterpretation of data. Why is there no provision to punish MPs lying or dogdging question in an inquiry. Braverman wasted everyones time by dancing around three simple questions, and she should return all the money and priviliges for that time span she wasted. "We've got a good track record" is the funniest thing I've heard all week! Braverman is a disgrace. I've never heard her admit anything is wrong. It's all confusion, spin & misdirection. Any other business trying to claim 'the backlog has decreased' by creating a cut off point & ignoring the huge increase of cases since that point is ludicrous 😂 Tories broke the system. The process isn't quick enough to deal with demand, but they have failed for years to improve the process - like not knowing how many case workers they have - mainly so they can point to the situation & call it a crisis that needs more stringent border controls. So obvious.

She starts her answers with, "I believe", and/or, "it may". You would think at this stage she would answer the questions with a yes or no. All she does is answer the questions in a "word salad" manner. It seems like she just used chatGPT, and didn't even thoroughly go through the bill to address these issues that r being brought up. She is definitely not qualified for this job. It's like me claiming to b a doctor by watching a few episodes of "House".

Her incompetence is very hard to believe until you see it in action. These people are nothing more than mouthpieces,everyone of them is totally unfit for purpose. I find it genuinely incredible that someone like Suella Braverman can say, with confidence and without actual evidence short of anecdote, that they believe the number of cases of sex trafficking increasing must mean those cases are bogus because "there are so many now 😯" and they take more resources to resolve, whilst at the same time obsessively pursuing the detention and removal of trafficked individuals on the basis that "most of them are men on boats". And she has the gall to say all this when evidence is put forth that her party just tacitly ignore obvious and serial sex traffickers, in her own county no less. Like honestly, she doesn't actually rationalise anything, I begs to question whether she thinks at all or just answers with the usual word-salad without a single new reflection. How does she still hold her office? Edit: that part where the trafficking her party apparently endorsed was revealed to her, and she shifts her use of language from "sex trafficking" to "adult work" or whatever, that made my skin crawl. What a grifter.

On the first question considering, how can she be unaware of a prostitution website given her staff and the select committee were aware of it's existence. Did nobody think to brief her? Unbelievable incompetence

Politspeak seems to be all the rage now among career politicians, with nary a straight answer to a simple question. It's like they are in full practice mode for the "Yes, NO" game, where you lose if you use either of those two words. The Plains Indians of America had a phrase for it..... "Speaks with forked tongue", and that is exactly what the politicians do. Our only defence against this sort of behaviour from MP's is the BALLOT BOX and we should learn to use that more effectively to weed out and silence the untouchable crap. Suella needs to go, that's as plain as the nose on your face, and the further away from our shores, the better. It turns my stomach everytime I hear her WAFFLING ON.
