I was with everyone when they said this two pack didn't make sense--if the battle droid just came out with an alt head then this would've been a smash hit. UNTIL it became clear that this super battle droid was scene specific. On top of that, the geonosis battle droid already has a single release, and the super battle droid single release already has its preorder up. This isn't MEANT to be a troop builder pack, it's a scene builder pack. I'm perfectly happy with this, especially cuz it means I can buy just one of these, I don't have to get as many crappy B1 figures as B2s, and I'll have some differentiation between my additional B2 singles I'll buy.
Hello Luke thanks for sharing your thoughts on the new Super Battle Droid and C-3P0 Battle Droid two pack. I'm waiting for the single release of the Super Battle Droid, I'll probably get two or three of them. If Hasbro clearances this two pack then I might get it but I'm not certain, just going to see what happens. Thanks for reviewing these figures I appreciate it. Take care and I'll catch you later my friend. Tom
I've gone with this 2pk because I'm actually liking the C-3PO, I couldn't see Hasbro making this a single release so the fact he's in this pack is a win for me. But I'll definitely be acquiring several of the single pack B2s when they are released. I'm also hoping that Hasbro will utilise this mould to give us the Clone Wars versions with Rocket Launcher, Jet pack, and Clone Cadet Practice Droid in time.
Nice review. I still have the original AOTC 3' 3/4" scale version I picked up at K B Toys back then when the store was going out of business. It would be nice if the BS had a Droid Factory assembly line w/crane to go with it.
I preordered this in a scare that they wouldn’t single release supper battle droid for awhile. But I meant to cancel It anyways as I hate that battle droid with C-3PO head. As to my surprise I got a “processed” and then shipped notification. Ugh. Can’t keep up with all theee preorders and what I have as I’m a fan/collector of many properties.
Great to hear B2 is more sturdy than Magna Guard. I'm passing on this expression, waiting for the clean single B2, and hoping they tone down the blue on his head.
Weird question but you remember that Rebel soldier who disguises himself as scout trooper on Endor? Same guy who we got as figure? Is there really way to kitbash that for figure using that faceplate and Scout trooper body? Or would 3D printing be neccessary for head?
It's a good set other than the price. I feel like I'm just going to get the single release and wait for this to be on sale. The figure definitely looks and functions way better than I expected. Great review!
I'm waiting for the Jedi: Survivor 3-pack - I'm very excited to be getting more figures from that game, it was the highlight of last year for me. I don't collect prequel, sequel or old republic era figures- just figures from around the empire era (Andor, Solo, OT, Rogue One, Mando, Ahsoka, etc.) - and I'm desperate for more Fallen Order/Survivor representation. Merrin is definitely my number 1 wishlisted figure of all time (I love my bloodthirsty goth pansexual queen). I do like the designs of Battle droids, though, so I'm glad to get an excuse to have them despite their prequel roots. (Same with pit droids - getting that 4-pack too!)
I’ll wait for one single release and another with the Palpatine two pack. So I’ll have two in total. I cancelled two of this two pack due to no Battle Droid Head included.
Looks ok but I won’t get it. The battle damage is not well done and I hate that they put 3po in this 2-pack. All army builder multipacks should just be multiple grunt types. Hasbro is leaving $ on the table with bad decisions like this
It was never advertised as being an army builder, but rather a scene specific 2 pack. Single release Super Battle droid comes later. Army build that all you want.
