@@mattp928 This looks promising, but I have a few suggestions. 1.) Have you thought about giving custom art assets to some of your brawlers? 2. If you don't have the voices for some of the characters, then could you hire some voice actors. 3. I think you should hire some artist for the victory screen, editors, and coders for your fan project. Sorry for the wall of text, and if my critique is a little mean.
@@BloxWaveCore97 it's not mean at all! i already use some custom assets for most brawlers, though they don't look too different since they're either cobbled together from other sprites or ripped directly from the show. and to be completely candid, i don't have enough money to hire people.
I kindly suggest adding Voices, it's like something is missing when Classic Spongebob does a Shoryuken staying silent, and Fanboy whipping his brain and Chum Chum saying nothing while Super Brawl had him cheering "Yay!" after his special. Placing voice makes characters feel more alive, interesting, and unique. Places like attacking moves, using a super, winning, or getting KO'd.
@@nursejoy4397 that's a great suggestion! especially the option to turn voices on and off. i'll see what i can do about it, i imagine it would be harder for some characters more than others; mostly because i'd have to sift through episodes and find appropriate clips. right now there's only one voice line in the game, and its fanboy saying 'brainfreeze!' when he triggers his blizzard attack (something you'll see in the next trailer).
@@penpenguin4767 right now, it looks like i'll be able to add voices for some of the more popular characters by the time the beta releases in december. i'm having a bit of a hard time finding voices for characters like fanboy or otis, so those might appear in a much later update.

1. i'm planning to have at least one boss for every series represented in super brawl. series i can't make a good bosses for will most likely have a super-powered version of a fighter (a la giga bowser from melee). the only one i can confirm right now is king neptune as the boss for spongebob's series. 2. you'll be happy to know that i already have two of those characters as fighters in development to be added in future updates!

i'm planning on adding rudy/snap to the main roster (right after i finish the sprites for waffles, gordon, and mr. blik, who are together as one fighter). due to the amount of requests, blue from blue's clues will also most likely appear later as dlc/an update to the game. the rest of the characters are not off the table, though i have no plans to add them as of right now. rocko was ALMOST in the roster for the main game, but i was unable to find sprites/make my own sprites that were good enough to be used.
@@rugratsthebrothersflubcats5966 yes, i have planned updates that add new fighters from both disney and cartoon network shows. i want to focus mostly on nickelodeon characters, but the updates will allow for me to add some of the more popular characters from other channels.
@@rugratsthebrothersflubcats5966 definitely animated tv channels. i have some notes written up for possible characters from channels like pbs or the hub and more, but i currently don't have any actual plans in the works. most likely no for animated movie studios.i think that is probably a bridge too far from the nickelodeon fighting game SBS is supposed to be.
im hoping to release the beta before the end of the year. the beta should have the first 8 characters fully completed, and the other characters in various stages of completion. there should be several working game modes, including arcade, tournament, training, watch, and the vault.
